Fantastic room, friendly staff”
I stayed a night at the Abercorn whilst on a work visit to Edinburgh. I wanted to be in Portobello as I have friends there and know the area well. I had a large room with an en-suite on the ground floor, which was beautifully decorated with period features and a large, comfortable bed. Everything was spotless. In the morning I had a lovely cooked breakfast, prepared to order. The couple that own the Guest House are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again, although next time I would bring my wife too!

Beautiful guest house in Portobello”
Abercorn is a lovely guest house located just a few mins walk from the beach and high Street. Gorgeous room. Very clean and comfortable. We received a warm welcome from our hosts. The breakfast was great. Covid 19 rules adhered to. Sanitiser located throughout. Great recommendations for local restaurants. Will definitely return.

Beautiful guest house, fantastic staff”
We had a lovely stay at this guest house. Our room was stunning. It was big and very comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and gave wonderful advice as to where to go in Edinburgh and how to get there. The bus is right outside the house and takes you directly into Edinburgh.

Warm and welcoming”
What a lovely B&B! We were first considering staying in the city area (the B&B is a 20-25 min bus ride to the centre, 10-15 min by taxi) but since we found hotels in the city quite overpriced and looking at the reviews Abercorn seemed to be the a great choice for our Christmas stay. Let me just say that we were not disappointed! On the contrary it was even better than we expected. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile, information about the area, directions to pubs and restaurants if we were hungry and coffee and tea. We ended up going to Espy (pub) nearby on Angela's suggestion and it was a lovely laid back bar with live music - a perfect start to our holiday. There are also a few other pubs and food options close to the B&B (Chinese, Tapas, Indian). It's right by the beach as well (2 min walk) which is lovely. The room was clean, spacious and warm and the decorations in the house have been done with thought and effort. Breakfast was great. Lots of options and plenty of it. The best thing however in the house are the hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and you get great information of the area and suggestions on what to do while in Edinburgh. On more than one occasion we asked for help or had questions (stained coat, booking taxis etc) and got all the help we needed. This meant a lot for us and made the stay extra pleasant and I would like to thank them again for being so kind and accommodating. Both of us have travelled quite a bit and this is one stay that I will remember and recommend!

Très confortable, 20 mn en bus du centre”
situé à portobello (hors du centre), mais à 2 mn à pied du bord de mer et 20 mn en bus du centre ville. angela, l'hôte est très sympathique, elle parle très vite mais toujours prête à donner des conseils. le petit déjeuner est typique, et fait maison. la maison est très agréable et confortable et les chambre également. nous y avons séjourné 3 jours, et nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'endroit
