Great indoor / outdoor onsen and great base for nearby skiing”
I had a bit of trouble piecing together all the information online, so was delighted when I arrived to discover the hotel offers everything for winter sports from lift pass (two different mountain options) rentals and gear to a free shuttle each morning and afternoon back. They also have a fr e shuttle back and forth to the newest JR station, however it didn’t sync up with the ski resort shuttle - but at least there’s a public bus with a stop in their parking lot. Nearly as good as ski-in/ski-out, this is a great option, with very local character.

Tired old dame”
Back in the day, this would’ve been a luxury resort. Unfortunately now, it’s like stepping into the tardis. It’s a very tired grand old dame. On the upside, the best onsenI’ve been in so far. Big indoor pool, cold plunge pool, sauna, and beautiful rock outdoor pool. Lovely. There are an array of restaurants to choose from well, at least on the signage there are. In real life, the options are extremely limited. Tonight we are having the ¥7000 (each) set dinner cooked by the restaurant but served in the pub! Last night it was 4500 yen buffet, where I reckon I had about ¥1500 with. I don’t mind spending money on food far from it, but I hate being FORCED into it. Well we did say we wanted a traditional Japanese experience on the snow fields, so this is probably it. But be warned, once you’re here you’re captive. Food options limited, Western beds inner sprung straight out of the 70s. Add to that absolutely appalling service from Agoda And this is not ranking as my top experience. Maybe the ski fields will perk me up…

Almost excellent in many ways”
Unfortunately, the word "almost" has to be there for every aspects of the review. 1. The included breakfast and dinner were both buffet/viking style with wide variety of food, but the quality is moderate. I would have preferred set meal for dinner (kaiseki), but the option is not available. For the same price, I have seen better. 2. The hotel is right opposite the entrance to Goshikinuma walking trail. The Toto bus stops in front of the hotel (right inside it). It is, however, 15 minutes to town, and 20-min to Inawashiro Station by bus, and the hotel does not provide any shuttle service. 3. The room is spacious and clean, but it is quite old. 4. The staff is very helpful. There were 2 receptionisrs who can speak fluent English during daytime, so ask away as much as you can, because there is none in the night. It would be better if they answer inquiries on Agoda. I messaged them prior to arrival to ask about transportation, and I got no reply. 5. The onsen is exceptionally nice, with beautiful outdoor bath area. There are other facilities like games, karaoke, massage etc. but we did not try. However, the breakfast is from 6.30-8.30, and the morning bath closes at 9am (checkout 10am) practically means you have to be early and rushy in the morning if you want to enjoy both. It seems the hotel is still struggling to handle non-Japanese guests. We noticed many things Japanese guests and those with tour agencies could enjoy (e.g yakiniku extra during dinner, kaiseki meals at the restaurant), but we cannot make such bookings.

Decent enough, bit dated. Definitely a Japanese hotel eg no European food for breakfast and all hotel literature in Japanese but none the worse for that. Easy access to skiing areas, with free bus transfer. Would come back again

Upon arrival at hotel, surprised to see hotel lobby was cluttered with many things and activities for children. While in the hotel room, we can hear hotel PA system blasting away. Plus point is the beautiful Goshima lake is nearby the hotel.

This hotel is easy to access as there is a bus stop next to the lobby entrance and a walkable distance to the walking trail. Morning buffet has a variety of food. The room is large. Onsen is beautiful.

古い建物ですが清潔”
2/2に利用、一人でしたがツインの部屋でとても綺麗でめちゃくちゃ広い。素泊まりで利用したので食事は分かりませんが、大浴場も利用できとても快適でした。 アメニティは一階に用意され、自由に自分で持って入るスタイル。浴衣もエレベーターホールに各サイズが用意され、自由に使えるようになっていました。浴衣での移動も自由との事でした。とても満足です。

お部屋のことで色々お願いしましたが、快く対応くださりありがとうございました。 お食事もお正月のおせち料理が美味しかったです。 低価格のホテルですのに、あのお料理や飲み物の充実さは素晴らしいと思います。コーヒーはラテもあると嬉しいかな 露天風呂もとても気持ちよかったです

昔のホテルの良さがある”
今風ではありませんが、ムダとも言えるほどのゆったりした部屋の造りや、風情ある名前の宴会場、昔ながらの温泉大浴場、鉄筋コンクリートの感じなどが、自分の世代にはむしろ懐かしいし、直前の予約だったせいか安く泊まれて良かった。朝のブッフェは時間が短か目だけど種類も豊富。バスの団体さんも多かったようだけど、時間帯が違うのか、お風呂も朝食もバッティングしませんでした。お目当ての美術館がすぐ裏なのも良かった

猪苗代湖を観光して夕方にチェックインした時には沢山の中国人観光客と宿泊客が夕飯を食べていてとても活気のある印象を持ちました。 五色沼まで歩いて行けるのでチェックアウト後に散策もできます。 ホテル内の居酒屋で夕飯を食べましたがスタッフが少なく対応が雑に感じました。

せめてコーヒーは…”
料金的には全体的に満足の行く施設であると感じました。 ただひとつ、夕食のデザートにコーヒーがつかないことが，むしろ不思議でなりません。 朝食のコーヒーも自動サーバーによるインスタントコーヒーで，とても寂しい思いがしました。 考え方ですが、例えば比較的ハイクラスなハワイコナでも、人件費を見ても一杯200円程度、ブールーマウンテンでも100円程度でサービスできるのではないでしょうか？ ブランドであればそこそこ美味しいコーヒーでも100円以下でサービースできるはずです。 食事の最後の締めで美味しいコーヒーが飲めることで，幸せを感じる方は少なくないのではないでしょうか？ デザートのチョコレートケーキも，もう少しチョコレートの含有量をあげても良いかもしれません。 あれではコンビニに負けてしまいますね。 小生が提示したお酒の銘柄がなく、給仕の方におすすめいただいた地元のお酒は大変満足のゆく興味ある名酒でした。 お料理も籠盛りは地元の名産や料理は素朴な味わいが舌を楽しませてくれました。若い頃会津に住んでいたこともあり、懐かしくて感傷に似た感情が湧いてとても良い時間を過ごさせていただきました。 また，裏磐梯には度々おじゃまする機会があると思います。 以上が改善されましたらご連絡ください。 また，宿泊施設の選択肢に挙げ、家族や友人を引き連れて参る際に検討させていただきます。 裏磐梯，猪苗代は、温泉、ロードバイク、カヤック、スキー、ランニングの聖地で、とても魅力的な地区です。 今後も年間を通しておじゃまいたしますので，よろしくお願いいたします。 この度は，お世話になりありがとうございました。
