Great homemade food and a quiet and calming atmosphere.

Lovely place to stay while exploring northern Chios. Hotel was basic but clean and staff were very kind. Facilities like the pool were really nice and the on site restaurant was delicious, with authentic home cooked food using ingredients from the farm. Very peaceful and staff were really helpful in arranging transport for us. Really enjoyed our stay.

At the reception (restaurant) we were greeted by an elderly lady who offered us a lemonade (we refused, it was too late) and took us to the apartment. The apartment had open windows. The lady showed us where the water heating is switched on. We should always switch it on half an hour before washing and switch it off after washing. I asked if it meant that we now only had cold water to wash the children. At that moment, the lady started to have trouble understanding English and said that we should turn on the water. Before the water heated up, we decided to make tea. There is no kettle, but a stove with a gas bomb. Before we made tea in the pot, there was a strong smell of gas in the whole apartment. So we had to ventilate in the draft. Lots of mosquitoes poured into the apartment. Before the shower, we noticed that there was water on the floor in the bathroom, which was there all the time. The shower was very small and uncomfortable, in no case can a parent and child fit in there. It was stated that the toilet paper should be thrown in the trash, which was not taken out the next day (cleaning is not a standard part of the stay). As we vented the smell of gas and closed the windows, the apartment in the kitchen and bathroom began to smell - probably from the sewer. The blanket had washed stains, the towels were very rough, and there was a bit of spring in the mattress. The advantage is parking in front of the house and about 100 meters to the beach (rocky, unpaved, in some places there were shards between the stones). Accommodation is in the northern part of the island (about 45 minutes from the port). But most of the attractions were south of the port, so we lived unnecessarily far away.

Maria was the perfect host. Very generous and always helpful. Her food was beautiful, all homemade and using mostly ingredients from her own gardens. Very grateful for my time at Agroktima

Breakfast choice was wide ranging and cooked to my personal requirements. All the produce was sourced from my host's own farm. I departed with a gift of the farm's home made jam. In the taverna you can enjoy a wonderful vista and relax content that your stay is likely to be comfortable and enjoyable.

The bathroom is probably due an upgrade, but there is really little to gripe about.
