Comfortable hotel ”
We were given a twin room and it was much spacious than our hotel in Tokyo. The room looked dated but everything is in working order. It is a convenient hotel, close to the train station and there are shops around the vicinity so made exploring Akita easy. We only find that adjusting for the water for shower is a bit tricky as adjusting a little changes the temperature and pressure quite a bit.

Lovely ”
Very spacious, comfortable and clean room. Located in the city area with lots of yummy food choices. Train station and convenience stores close by. Had the best handmade udon and tempura meal at B1 level of the Seibu mall that is attached to this hotel. The hotel lift will take you right at mall, do not have to leave your hotel building. Appreciated this a lot especially in the winter season!

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean albeit a little outdated. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The hotel is very near Akita station and many good restaurants. I hope two stay here again the next time I visit Akita.

Excellent ”
We were upgraded to a suite room with very big room and living room. The breakfast was good with much choices. It was convenient to go out for shopping with Seibu bedside and many restaurants near the Station. Thanks for giving us a memorable night as we are going to have 25th Anniversary soon in this trip.

Old fashioned hotel by the station ”
Very good breakfast and lovely staff. A bit pricey, but the location is excellent. The spa and gym are not included in the price. The corridors smell of cigarettes, but the room and the restaurants are fine.

Nice hotel but buffet is just ok”
Hotel was located close to Akita Railway station, it took about 10 min walk for us. i just stayed for a night. Rooms were clean, well maintained and spacious. I struggled a bit during morning breakfast although its continental, we found very limited options for vegetarian. most of the items are of japanese cuisine.

Great breakfast and view of the mountains”
Current name is Akita Hotel, but will be changed to ANA Crown Plaza Hotel in Dec 2021. It is connected to the SEIBU department store so was hard to find at first. It is very close to the station ( exit from west side ) and cross the intersection and walk up a slope. Staff are all very friendly. The room is a bit old, but I cold open the window and enjoy the fresh air breezing down from the mountains. At night if you turn off the main light and turn on the smaller yellow lights, the room is charming as is the unit bath/toilet. I gave a higher ranking because the breakfast is excellent and well prepared by chefs. Service is excellent too. Recommend it for this and proximity to the station and the park/museum and drinking establishments.

Easy To access Tourist Areas”
This was an overnight stay but I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is only 120m or so from the railway station, which includes the Shinkansen. It is walking distance to the park. The room was clean and quite large when compared to other Japanese hotels I've stayed in. It was western styled. I didn't eat at the hotel but the restaurant looked very comfortable.

A bit rough around the edges”
As the hotel is becoming an ANA property at the end of 2021, I wonder if this will include an upgrade of the rooms and facilities. As it stands, during my stay, I definitely felt like the room had significant amounts of visible wear and tear — much more so than other business hotels I stay at during this trip. The bathroom was pretty old (it even had a bathroom phone that looked like it hadn't been touched in years) and the bathroom lighting was fairly dim/yellow. It made doing makeup impossible. The furniture had lots of dings and scratches, and the overall feel of the room was very early-Heisei era. However, the room itself was quite large by Japanese standards, and the location of the hotel relative to Akita Station was a huge selling point. Being able to walk to the hotel directly from the station via a covered walkway made getting there very easy, and I suspect this would be nice during rainy season or wintertime.
