Clean and spacious!”
The Amaray Cay Hotel was clean and very spacious throughout the resort. Staff was helpful and friendly too. The pool area was full everyday, which is great for families with kids, but not as enjoyable for a solo traveler. I did, however, take full advantage of the ample cabana inspired chill spots on the ocean! There really is enough room and something for everyone to enjoy. All good things aside...I suggest passing on dinning at the hotel. The food wasn't very fresh, so go and enjoy other restaurant in the area! The shuttle will take you any place you want to go. Hope this helps!

Wonderful getaway”
The staff was always pleasant and helped us with any questions we had. It has “beach access”, but you have to climb down a ladder and the water was pretty mucky with seaweed and such, so we never used it. You couldn’t walk from the sand into the water. However, the pool is beautiful! The tiki bar was fun. You do get access to their other resorts with wristbands. Part of the hotel is being allowed to use the kayaks and paddle boards, which my husband and I loved the kayaking. We had a great time. Beautiful hotel, awesome amenities, and the staff were very professional and kind.

The access to the other resorts is a PLUS!”
I spent the weekend at the Amara Cay Resort with my older kids and we had a fantastic time. Sophie at the front desk was very helpful and, in general, all the staff was very responsive, friendly and reliable. We took advantage of visiting the other resorts in the network and they were all amazing. I definitely recommend Amara Cay for anyone looking forward to a mini vacation.

Always our favorite!”
We've stayed at Amara Cay multiple times and it always delivers. We love the location, the beach, the pool, the tiki bar and all of the other amenities. Another bonus is the access to their sister properties and the free shuttle service to all of our favorite restaurants and bars on Upper Matecumbe in Islamorada.

Just checked out of Amara Cay resort after a 3 night stay. Great, friendly staff!!! Clean spacious rooms. Got a great price from this site however be aware of an additional $35 per night resort fee. It may have been menu but I did not see it. Great location. 80 miles south of Miami and 80 miles north of Key West!

Islamorada gem.”
Loved everything about this resort. The pool was clean. The tiki bar was convenient for drinks and food. Had some of the best wings and oysters ever. Took total advantage of their shuttle service to go off sight, it was quick and easy. We will stay here again.

Older hotel”
We were travelling with dogs and would not recommend that for this hotel if your dogs are reactive to sound. While the hotel is "pet friendly" the walls and doors are paper thin. There were people coming and going at all times and lots of children quite loud in the corridor. This is not a slam on the hotel by any means, the location is lovely and the staff are VERY nice. Our only commentary is if your dogs are sound reactive it's not the best choice.

‘Pet Friendly’ but only for some pets”
My sister has recommended Amara Cay so we booked despite the higher price tag (it was a holiday weekend). Our room was an accessible room so it lacked the bells and whistles of the rooms shown on the website. They bill themselves as being “pet friendly” but they are really just small dog friendly and the small dogs were everywhere…we even saw them in the indoor onsite restaurant. We were told after we booked that our ESA cat was not welcome on the property. The lobby area is nice and the food was decent for resort food. We didn’t pay for parking which was a nice bonus. The place was packed with people though and kids were running around everywhere. If you are a family with a small dog, this place would probably be perfect but for a couple looking for a relaxing weekend on the water, it left something to be desired. I get up around 8am and walked the property with a cup of coffee. The towels and trash from the day prior was still strewn about. I will say, the front desk staff (Aaron?) and the ladies working in the restaurant were absolutely phenomenal.

Dog friendly not People ”
Unfortunately if you aren’t bringing a dog it’s not so great. We heard dogs barking at all hours of the night. Especially in the early mornings. Saw someone let there dog pee on the astroturf the kids were playing on. Nice place. Too bad it more about the folks that travel with pets.

Above average”
Great location in the Keys. The hotel grounds were nice. The room was terrible - uncomfortable bed, sofa sleeper not fit for a dog to sleep on, and no “hot” water in the room (barely warm). Tiki area by the pool closed each night shortly after sunset. Also, someone was smoking weed in their room down the hall, and we had to smell it every time we went to the elevator.
