Awesome hotel with lovely staff, but food takes forever”
We enjoyed our stay at Amerela. The hotel is awesome and the room decoration is so lovely. The staff is nice and friendly. Also, free transfer from/to the airport was included. Only upset me a bit as I got the confirmation that one of the rooms will be a double bed, turned out it were all single beds. However, they combined the beds for us, so that was alright. You might have to wait for food for more than an hour, so make sure you spare some time if you have any activities planed.

Best for quiet time”
Amarela was a pleasant surprise. It was good to find a beach resort that was also full of Filipino heritage art pieces. The resort had all the modern amenities and the rooms were clean with modern bathrooms. However, for me the addition of native elements in the design of the hotel, and the beautiful well maintained garden is a balm to the soul. Food is also great and the staff were very helpful, like Lani in reception. The pool was clean and well maintained. All in all it was a very pleasant and relaxing stay, far from the busyness of Alona.

One of a kind! ”
Amarela is unique! It showcases the rich history of Bohol through artworks displayed throughout the facility. The hotel is beautifully decorated with its very own museum. Food was great and service was awesome! Stay in Amarela- you won’t regret it!

I booked this for my friend's honeymoon retreat! The staff is so accommodating enough for them to arrange a dinner and a flower bouquet for my friend!

Wow! Such a treat for the price. Beautiful setting. ”
The staff was incredible and the gorgeous smaller setting hotel was a treat. We had stayed at another hotel on the island and ended up wishing we had stayed at Amarela the whole time. The masseuse was great and the food surpassed our expectations. If we return to Bohol, we will certainly be staying here. The price and value cannot be beat!

Beautiful ”
Beautiful property! I almost went with a new property that just opened, I visited that property one of the days I was in Bohol. I’m glad I stayed at this hotel instead. It’s very peaceful and all the details of this property will not let you down.

Exceptional”
Even though there was a destructive typhoon that hit the province about 2 weeks before we there, the hotel was operational and service was very good. Understandably, internet and communications were intermittent at times. Overall, we enjoyed the our stay and well anticipated break from work, school, and the pandemic.

Ok resort but Overpriced”
Resort looked clean and but they never changed bed cover stuffs for 4day stay. Some staffs are bagging for tips (room clean staffs). Breakfast was ok. Should go down about 20 to 30% of price to be a nice resort.

Nice resort but too expensive”
Nice and cool resort even some progress have to be made. The resort is not made for beach holliday! Basic deluxe room are very dark and far to expensive. Friendly staff in the restaurant even their english and service skills arent the best. Unfortunately the food in the restaurant is very disappointing and not yummy at all!

Tranquil vacation at a Lovely hotel”
we stayed at amarela resort for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. our room, while small, was clean and nicely furnished. we had a balcony with an amazing sea view. i particularly liked the nice and elegant decor and the beautiful antique pieces displayed all over the hotel. free wifi was available at the restaurant and the main lobby. we did not have much luck with the weather as it rained during our whole stay. however, we took advantage of the resort's extensive dvd collection and watched several movies. one of the reasons we chose to stay at amarela resort was its remote and quiet location. one of the ta reviewers mentioned the loud karaoke from the nearby resort. we thankfully did not have the same experience as that would have been a deal breaker for me.the staff were friendly without being intrusive. we also enjoyed the food served at the restaurant - i thought the prices were fair and reasonable. i you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay in panglao, nothing beats amarela resort.

Great Hotel with Great Staff”
if you want to visit bohol, amarela is a smaller version of bohol inside bohol. our stay in amarela was one of the best. especially kids enjoyed a lot. rooms were very comfortable, decorated nicely and represents the culture of bohol. in fact every where in the resort you can feel the essence of bohol and it's historical culture. the resort have a very huge dvd library where you can choose your choice of movies from thousands of choices. there's a small museum in the resort which gives a detailed history of bohol island. although beach is a bit small but its neat and clean. infinity swiming pool and play area for kids is also one of the attraction which will give your kids the best time. you don't wanna miss the breakfast at amarela restaurent in the morning with a pleasent view of ocean, tress and singing birds. although the restaurent don't have too much variety of food for lunch and dinner but still available food is excellent in taste (but a bit costly). most importantly, the staff of hotel is very nice and friendly and they will really make you feel at home. there's also a souviniour shop in the resort. transport is a bit of problem as hotel transport is expensive and the location of resort is not easily accessable to public transport/cabs. amarela also have city tour packages although it's a bit expensive. if you want to go out only once, you can use hotel transport. they also offer only pick up from any part of city to hotel. if you are looking for peaceful time in private with no disturbance, amarela is the answer but if you want a party and crowded nights, you might dont want to come here.

Fantastic vacation at Amarela!”
Stayed 4 nights around Christmas time. I was worried at first about the distance from Alona Beach (need a car / motorcycle to get there) since that seems to be the center of activity in Panglao, but Amarela wiped away all my worries the moment my family (3 adults) arrived in Bohol. The airport pickup + drop-off service, clean and secluded beach, resort amenities (snorkeling gear, kayak, etc. are free for guests), large, well-lit rooms, incredibly friendly staff... the list goes on. I couldn't have chosen a better place for a resort vacation. The transportation to and from certain locations (organized by Amarela) were all reasonable - might have been just 1-2 USD more than if we were to bargain directly with drivers. I could see myself choosing a place along Alona Beach if I were traveling alone, but other than that, would hands down come back to Amarela again.

Excellent all around!!”
Amarela's excellent service started months before my husband and I even set foot in the resort. Hours after my booking via Agoda, they emailed me with their tour options and recommendations. They were very responsive to emails in the months leading to our trip. The same excellent service greeted us throughout our stay, where everyone --from front desk, to housekeeping, to restaurant staff and maintenance-- always served us with a smile. Everyone was so accommodating, especially when we had a bit of a medical condition that required special arrangements for our food and some prearranged plans to be postponed. Not once did the Amarela staff ever make us feel like the special requests were an inconvenience, and they even checked up on us routinely to make sure we were okay. It truly felt like we were cared for during our stay. The food was also very good-- a bit pricey, but the generous servings make up for it. Although we are not vegetarian, I noticed that they had a vegetarian menu on standby. It seems that the staff is truly willing to make the necessary concessions to one's dietary needs. We also loved the Old Bohol theme that gave a homey feel to the entire resort. It was very rustic, so it may not be for people who are looking for modern and tech-savvy accommodations. There's no WiFi access in the rooms, although the WiFi from their rooftop area reached our 2nd floor room and WiFi is free in the restaurant area. My husband and I didn't mind this so much because we took it as a chance to unplug and unwind, but other guests may see this as an inconvenience. In terms of location, I loved that Amarela was very secluded. Being surrounded by lots of trees helped reinforce the feeling of being one with nature and being very far away from the city. It is definitely not for people who are looking for the night-life or a string of bars and restaurants nearby. Over-all, I highly recommend Amarela for people who are looking to get away from the frenetic pace of the cit

One of the best ”
I wasn't really planning on booking Amarela resort but because of the positive reviews, I just have to let our family experience what other guests are saying about this resort. They have a complimentary airport transfer which not many resorts or hotels in Bohol would offer. The staff was VERY courteous and attentive. I made arrangements for our anniversary in advance and they did not fail me. It was very well set up, romantic and we had the beach to ourselves in a romantic set up. I could not say anything negative about the resort itself from staff to facilities (they have a volleyball area, beach bar, table tennis and darts, library and game boards which we enjoyed!) Food was superb too! If you are looking for something worth your money and you are after a silent retreat looking to de-stress, this is for you!! The place is not crowded which gives you some 'me time' I would definitely recommend Amarela and YES, I will be back!

We loved the hotel and the surroundings.”
We enjoyed the Amarela very much. The hotel is located on the perfect spot on the island with beautiful gardens. The owner is an artist/collector of beautiful Philippine antiques and his collection is integrated into the design of the hotel. There is a beautiful library with many books that can be checked out and an amazing DVD collection (DVD players are located in the rooms). The restaurant has magnificent views over the sea.The staff are wonderful. Don't hesitate - this is the best choice on Panglao Island. I have stayed at 2 other resorts and this is the best!

Exceptional”
The Department of Tourism rated Amarela resort as a 3 star hotel. It has a pool, a library and a garden. The beachfront is kept clean by the hardworking staff of the hotel. Panglao's beachfront is a long stretch of powdery white sand. It's nice to walk barefoot on the shore but wearing aqua shoes is recommended when swimming. There are sea urchins in the area. You would easily notice that Amarela's beach front is the cleanest among the rest and the most quiet. Nearby resorts have loud karaoke machines. Low tide happens at around 3pm. Sad to say that there were several plastic wrappers, bottles on the beach and seaweed. The staff of Amarela do their best in cleaning their area. I just hope that people would be more environment conscious. There are areas "infested" with seaweeds but you just have to walk a bit further to enjoy parts where there is less seaweed. I saw a lot of starfish near the shore. My dad and I enjoyed swimming as early as 530am. The water was calm and not that shallow. The best part of our stay was the food in the hotel's restaurant. It was delicious and not pricey at all. Those who worked in the restaurant were attentive and accommodating. It could have been better if frontdesk was more attentive in setting expectations. I thought we had issues in checking out but turned out that we were waiting on other guests before we board the free van to the airport. The frontdesk personnel could have been more proactive. He could also smile a bit more. Overall, I loved our stay. Thank you, Amarela.
