"The hotel is central to all that ambleside has to offer and walking from the back of the hotel will give you lots of options for some lovely local walks. The room was lovely and comfortable and spotlessly clean so well done the housekeeping. The hotels policy on covid seems to work well and the staff are well engaged and thorough. The breakfasts are preordered and are staggered entry the next morning. As for the quality it was superb and hot which is a feat in it self. The food was of a very good quality and plentiful and there was a veggie option aswell. Overall I would recommend this hotel with its bright and cheerful interior and lovely staff and would make an excellent base to express the local area."

"This hotel is in a good location in Ambleside. The rooms are nicely decorated and in reasonable shape. There are a few areas for improvement... in particular, the walls are paper thin so you can certainly hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms. Additionally, the hotel is unmanned and during our stay the soap in the shower was not replaced so we went without due to not being able to ask anyone for assistance. Overall, this hotel is certainly affordable but you get what you pay for."

"Had a lovely 5 night stay at this B & B. A great location right in the centre of Ambleside close to shops, pubs and restaurants, traditional and warm atmosphere with friendly and hospitable hosts. Only downside a teeny bit of noise from square at back of the property."

"Although a bit difficult to find on a rainy night due to limited signage, this B&B was worth the effort to locate it. The room was quite large with a lovely sitting area, plenty of light and a nice view across to the church and gardens. The hosts were very hospitable and accommodating, and served up a terrific breakfast. The location meant that once we found a place to park the car (quite challenging to locate nearby) we were able to access everything we needed in town by walking."

"This is an excellent hotel. It is in a great location near Ambleside town centre but also convenient for Waterhead. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast is a buffet but included everything you'd want in a full cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most importantly there is a car park for at least 5 cars right on site. This is rare in Ambleside at this price. The only thing that could be improved is the shower. I found the temperature difficult to control, and this is not ideal when you are in a small cubicle under a fixed-head shower. Also the sash window wasn't balanced properly so it was either closed or fully open unless you put something on top of it to weigh it down. These are minor complaints. The hotel is great and I wouldn't hesitate to go back."
