The hotel was great. The location waa good. Many shops and restaurants were closed (maybe due to COVID). Staff was friendly and plenty of hand sanitizer starions.

Acceptable”
Hotel breakfast is not at all worth it and not made for international travellers . Toillete does not have heated seat . We can hear the drainage noise in the night and not sound proof. They still charge for you parking . Rest is fine

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was walking distance to the Castle and a short bus ride from the train station. It was clean, well equiped. Everything worked as we expected. I like stay in APA Hotel Wakayama and will come again.

Used to stay at APA at Osaka n Tokyo, this APA in Wakayama is of a little bit disappointing. The room smell old n the toilet is stinky. The only thing that makes me feel better is that the staff is helpful as usual.

Quality hotel but far from Osaka”
It was our first time in Japan and in this hotel. We were surprised on how far it is from Osaka. But Wakayama is an area that is also good to explore. This hotel is very clean with very good amenities, excellent staff and accessible to the nearest train station because it is where the bus stops.

Nice hotel in the city but quiet at night ”
Hotel is located in the city however when you walk down the street at night, it’s quite quiet and not much restaurants are around. Opposite there’s a local Japanese yakiniku restaurant which is really good but other than that, there is nothing much around within 5 minutes walk. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Might wanna stay at another hotel if you want a lively neighbourhood.

there are lots of restaurants nearby the hotel, but it needs quite a long walk to the nearest jr station there are lots of bus connecting to the jr station so its rather convenient the room is very clean and aircon is nice quite a good one in that area with a cheap price!

overall, it's a fairly good hotel in Wakayama. although the location is a bit far from the stations, it locates near to the main travelling spot, Wakayama Castle. the room is fairly clean, with the soft matress that is not suitable for the people with back pains. however, it would be much better to turn the matress upside down by yourself. anyway, most of the matresses in Kansai are super soft...

The hotel is a little far from the JR station to walk so it’s probably better to take a bus there if you have a lot of luggage or have small children.

Swing and a miss”
Let me start this off by saying that the staff were wonderful and really did try to help us by upgrading our room 2xs (1st one simply because we asked for non-smoking and they had a slightly nicer room still open). Anyways, one side of the hotel is located directly on top of a night club, which happened to have a concert that night from "10pm - morning." It was so loud and close in our 2nd floor room that you could not only hear it, but feel it. When we complained, they assured us it would be over by midnight and to please wait. At 12:20am we went down again and asked again for room we could actually sleep in. They moved us to a massive 2 queen room with a nice living room area on the 7th floor, and on the other side... you could still faintly hear the music from there too! I don't understand why a hotel and night club are on top of each other, it's a terrible idea. The room conditons: In the first room the drain didn't work in the bathtub. The 2nd room had some mold on the walls!

Pros: Clean, comfortable, spacious and friendly staff. Close to bus stop and shops/restaurants. Cons: No business facilities such as access to a pc or printer, strong smell coming from the bathroom which is quite disappointing given that the room itself is clean and comfortable. Saw a similar review from another guest which I thought it could be a temporary issue or isolated but it doesn't appear to be the case.
