You should tell travelers that highway 1 is closed and the detour coming from the south adds many hours to the trip. When you can't get to the apartments, they become very expensive

Mis-leading description”
To total strangers to Picton , " Apartments on the Waterfront " infers that the apartments are at the Waterfront which is in the centre of Picton and therefore would be close to all the amenities / restaurants which are associated with a " waterfront " . This is not the case , the apartments are about 4 kms. out of the centre and are situated close to a boating club/marina .. Although the apartments are close to the marina they do not have a good view at all .!!!

Lots of Space”
Our stay was an over night stay. It's suited to those with a vehicle. There was all the space we needed with our group of 5 adults. A place we would have definitely of loved to have stayed longer, but we were making our way to Queenstown from Northland, so this was a stopover for us. We had our meal in the town at Cortado Restaurant Bar & Cafe, which served us really tasty dishes. Over all, The Apartments on the Waterfront was a great place to stay.

Comfortable rooms. Plenty of space ”
We arrived late on the ferry from Wellington. The apartment was further from the town than I had expected but the apartment was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We booked a 2 bed apartment but were given a 3 bedroom apartment. 1 double, 1 twin and a room with bunk beds. The lack of a second double room was a little disappointing.

Decent location 5 min drive from town. ”
We noted that the apartment had an upstairs and downstairs area which allowed for entertaining upstairs whilst the bedrooms were downstairs providing privacy for the guests. The apartment had stunning views of the bay and the sunrise in the morning over the mountains. The cons: 1) Initially we arrived for check in at 1400 as expected but found that the reception was closed. We tried contacting the various numbers via the outdoor reception telephone and left messages which were unreturned which were a bit of an inconvenience. We returned after an hour and a half to reception where we were greeted with friendly service which made up for the wait. 2) Unfortunately the house did not have a second sliding security screen door which did not allow for the sea breeze to be enjoyed at night as we were uncertain about the safety of leaving doors open in the area. Overall we were pleased with our stay.
