Bright and sunny, very clean, close to Heathrow”
Probably the best value I've ever come across for a hotel in London. Worked perfectly for an early morning flight out of Heathrow. By the way, to get to/from the airport, don't bother with a Taxi or even the hotel shuttles (they charge £6!). Instead take a local bus from the Centra Bus Station at Heathrow. Say you're going to the Skyline or Raddison, and the driver won't charge you. Lines 105, 111, 140, and 285 will drop you off on the main road (Bath Rd.) right by the Skyline or Raddison, and then you can walk 10 mins up New Road to Apple House.

Stop-over before early morning flight.”
I was very pleased with the Apple House Guesthouse. I was staying overnight to catch a flight very early the next morning. I drove across England and arrived in the late evening. The service was attentive and prompt and very helpful. The room was comfortable, warm and clean. The shared bathroom was just fine and acceptably clean. I don't think the guesthouse is equipped for longer stays - especially not for families. If you plan to stay longer, you may find the facilities somewhat limited. But as an airport-adjacent hotel, for short stays before or after a flight this place is perfect.

Apartment converted into guesthouse”
We were scheduled to arrive Heathrow fairly late (9pm) so I tried to look for a convenient place to stay for one night. This place seemed to offer everything I was looking for: Modest price range (especially during the week of the Olympics)& convenient location. The cab driver did not recognize the address or the name of the guesthouse. That got me worried. Luckily the ride from the airport was short. I was charged twice as much as I was expecting to pay: 10 pounds (boo). The guesthouse was poorly lit and no one responded for a few minutes as I pressed the door bell. That was worrisome as well. Finally someone answered the door. He lead us up this narrow & steep set of stairs to a very small room. At least the room was tidy & the bathroom appeared newly renovated. My 4 year-old daughter would have much preferred a bathtub, but given the circumstances, we managed. Some nice touches to the room included a built-in converted outlet compatible with appliances in the US (I had to buy a converter later for other places I stayed); WiFi (practically mandatory for me); yummy tea & chocolates. The next day we took a short walk to the nearest bus stop to catch the Underground (The bus ride was free). The neighborhood seemed cute & friendly.

A Heathrow hotel option for some”
No problems with this guest house. Heathrow hotels can be very expensive in the high season, so this place is an option for some. It's much cheaper and more basic. It's not on the Hoppa bus hotel rout, but you can go the the Radisson Edwardian Blue and walk, about 10 minutes. So not an option if you have a lot of luggage or it's raining. There is no restaurant, but a very fine pub is just a few hundred yards frosty he front door.

Good value for money”
the room was clean, well-kept and very self-contained. it was also excellent value for money at a time when hotels in london were overbooked and overpriced during the 2012 olympics. the proprietor was very helpful and my short stay there was enjoyable.

Clean, clean, clean!”
Modest guesthouse with very clean room and bathroom. I had everything I needed! The communication was excellent. The owner gave practical and sufficient instructions about finding the place, bus service, etc.

Airport Sleepover Between Flights”
Very short stay to sleep between flights. Take the free bus and walk the final 4-6 blocks - the taxi wanted to charge us 40 british pounds to take us to the Guesthouse which was only 1.7 km from the airport as the crow flies. Staff answered door as soon as we knocked at 1030 at night and took us right to our room. McDonalds is on the way back to the bus stop so we went there for breakfast.

Disappointed!”
It looks like a charming little inn from the pictures but they must have been taken many years ago. This is in a row of attached townhouses in a low rent, dirty little district. The house is old and creaky with NO soundproofing. I opted for an en suite bathroom but it didnt feel like it. The shared bathroom was next to my room so every time (day and night) someone went to the toilet I had to share the experience with them. 😖 The night clerk spoke no English or French or even the little bit of Spanish that I know, and so could not understand or solve the problems I had. The TV, the wifi and the water in the bathroom sink did not work and there is no air conditioning. It is directly under the flight path of the airplanes taking off from Heathrow and without soundproofing, it was very loud. It cost me £28 for a taxi to get there. Next time I have a long layover at Heathrow I will spend that money getting a better place.

Small but clean!”
Quite a long walk from the free bus stop, even with a small suitcase it can be a hassle. It is a great value for money and very close to famous Pheasant Inn with great meals (where you can wait as long as you want as long as your order something) before checking in which is later than most hotels and guesthouse.

small guest house near Heathrow”
The guest house itself was fine; newly renovated and within walking distance of the bus stop. The hotel provided excellent instructions prior to arrival as to how to get there. The major problem was that the check-in was at 5 pm. I had to go there and drop off my luggage before going back into London, and had a very hard time getting anyone to answer the door for me (which was locked). Upon my return at night at 2320, door again locked, but at least I got an answer and they let me in. They did a good job arranging a cab in the morning as well.

Very disappointing ”
We were quite disappointed with this guest house. Unfortunately we arrived late due to hold up in Heathrow airport. We arrived and the reception staff was very uninviting. He showed us our room which was very small but clean. No where to put your bags and the room was very hot (no air conditioning) which would have been bearable if we could have opened a window. Unfortunately the windows were locked and you could not open them. To make matters worse we organised a car parking spot for our rental car at the time of booking but unfortunately there was none available and we had to park around the corner and drag our bags from there to the guest house. Overall we were very disappointed with the room and had we known it only rated itself a one star hotel we would not have booked it. Agoda posted as an entirely different property than what is was in real life.

Good place. Staffs are friendly.”
Even though staff couldnt speak much English but he tried very hard to help me. Even though its right next to the airport but take awhile to get there. I got a taxi at taxi airport stand and cost 16 pounds. I stayed at Chiswick the last trip, so much further and cost only £19 lol. Did not try the puplic transport so cannot comment. Cozy place and short walk 3 mins to inn/bar with nice foods .

Unfortunate experience ”
Despite booking 6 weeks before I was not expected and the place deserted. when I arrived. When I finally contacted the owner by phone I was allowed in electronically but I never met a member of staff. This meant as a single female traveller I spent the night alone in the building. Most worryingly the back door was unlocked and although I was assured, again by phone, that I was perfectly safe, I blocked the entrance with furniture from other rooms!! The room itself was clean and comfortable although one of the drawers in the bedside table was full of rubbish including a drinks carton left by a previous guest. This was an adventurous start to my trip and a shame as in many ways it’s perfectly situated close to Heathrow and could be a really good cheap alternative to a hotel when all you want is a bed. However I won’t be risking it again.

You get what you pay for!”
The hotel is not nearby Heathrow Airport. I had to spend 14 pounds for a taxi to get there. I went there in the hot summer and the room didn't have air conditioning and I asked the staff for a fan but was told they had no fan and advised me to open the windows. I told them I had opened the windows but many mosquitos flew in and I had already killed 2 in the room before requesting a fan. Finally, i could not sleep at night because it was very hot and there was no air in the room.

great location,close to the airport.”
The guest house is clean. We stay in the family room which is good. It's ok to stay 1 night. We have to leave early the next day to the airport. It took us less than 10 mins to go to terminal1.

Acceptable”
Much too difficult to reach after the Gatwick-->Heathrow shuttle bus [unless you hire a cab]. I should have booked an airport hotel ! One caretaker /staff person at my 7:30 PM arrival He spoke very broken/marginal English and could not deal with .rooming or minor local info questions. My tiny room and en-suite bath room each had a hot water radiator opened up full blast Outside temp 49 deg. Farenheight, room estimated at 85+ deg. Farenheight. I shut off both radiators, opened 2 sections of the windrow and by the time I got back from dinner,2 1/2 hrs later it was just bearable By 7am it was comfortable !! No staff present at 8 am Departure No top sheet ! Only a bottom fitted sheet + a thick comforter type top Layer which iI refuse to believe is washed after a one night stay. Uncomfortable and very poor value Raymond J Mailloux of Montreal QC and Dallas Texas

new guest house”
convenient, new, in-expensive and friendly would sum up this place. comfy bed, only just started so everything is new and clean. good local pub which serves reasonable food (super large quantities so be warned!) and beer was also tasty. free parking (but mention on the booking that you wish to use. i would use this place again, as its just fine for a cheap stop over prior to an early morning long distant flight.
