We stayed for 2 nights.The hotel is ideally placed for trips into Bath.The bus stop is just outside and we went in on a boat which was wonderful only £5.The breakfasts are exceptional anything you wanted really.The place is spotlessly clean.Our room was a bit small but acceptable and we had a large bathroom with bath.Little extras like fresh coffee in room and chocolate on pillow were a delight.Staff very friendly.Very enjoyable stay.

Charming residence”

We really enjoyed our few days at Bailbrook Lodge. This is a place steeped in history and the room was quite comfortable. The location is a little problematic being outside the city but the buses run regularly and it is easy to coordinate travel arrangements. Nick, our host, was charming and provided us with a lot of local knowledge for touring around the city. The breakfast was amazing and we can highly recommend the beautiful B&B.

Overnight visit ”

The room was compact but well equipped. The bathroom was tiny and the sink was in the main room which was a bit of a bind. The breakfast was outstanding, best I have had for some time. Parking was easy and there is a bus stop at the bottom of the drive so catching the bus was much easier than trying to park in the city the following day. A good place to base for a visit to the lovely city of Bath.

Fsbulous stay!”

Easy parking, excellent value for money and the breakfast is a banquet. Lovely clean rooms, super clean bedding and towels and good toiletries. Great refreshments tray in room, so much choice! The staff here are very helpful and polite This lovely old building is a bit creaky when people are walking about but it did not disturb us at all. Easy bus ride into city centre and short walk over the toll bridge to a very nice Gastropub (take a torch!)

Welcoming and fun”

Everything about Bailbrook was wonderful. They made the most of every inch of space that they were allowed to change. This is an historic building so rules constrain what they can do to it. That being said, our room was about 12x12 yet it held 2 twin beds, 2 chairs, a desk, TV and fireplace, had a super bathroom and a closet with a dresser. The common area was comfy and cozy with big overstuffed chairs and couches and a small bar. We spent our first evening in the library which was quiet and welcoming. It is close to downtown without being right in the middle of things. Best of all were the staff, who made you feel at home. Only downside was the water pressure from the shower which was pretty non-existent. All in all a wonderful place to stay!

Old charm 4 star Guest House”

We don't like to stay in 'corporate' places, so this filled our needs perfectly. Georgian style is maintained throughout, which means that it has character and age. The staff are great, especially Nick, and the breakfasts are fabulous. Beds are comfortable and towels new and fluffy. Having read a few critical previews, I gather a lot of people really didn't appreciate the charm of a short stay here. We took advantage of the free parking onsite - quite a rarity in Bath - and caught the bus or boat into the city. thanks to the location, this was easy. There was some traffic noise at night as the weather was so hot that we had our windows wide open, but we have experienced far worse at budget chain places. If you value somewhere with a bit of character and charm, Bailbrook Lodge is the place to stay.

A lovely weekend stay”

Upon arrival we were met by a very polite gentleman who was very helpful and show us all around. The room was lovely with a huge window overlooking the garden. Breakfast was well catered for. I would recommend Bailbrook Lodge to all my family and friends.

Great Little Hotel”

Lovely welcome and great staff. The hotel is a little dated but it adds character! Very clean but would recommend an iron and proper board (not a tiny one) in each rooms or at least the exec rooms. Nice breakfast offering.. Overall worth going if you are looking for a few nights in Bath.

Great location easy to get there and back from Bath centre using bus service (3-D3 -x31). But use the app on your phone only cost £4 for the day and you can travel anywhere in a 3 mile radius. Great breakfast plenty of items to choose from cereals fruits pastries. Happy staff too which is a bonus straight away.

Wonderful historic Lodge”

This was a beautiful historic property! There was no elevator however and we were on the third floor which was fine for us but just so other travelers know that. The breakfast was amazing and the service was friendly warm and helpful! we are Americans and so we were able to take the bus which stopped right by the hotel in and out of town very easily and it ran very often so that we didn’t have to drive our car and deal with parking in Bath which is very very crowded. We will definitely stay here again!

Staff friendly,warm welcome from Nick who was on reception when we arrived. Gorgeous four poster bedroom with complimentary water,tea,coffee,hot chocolate and our room had a beautiful garden view. Also a lovely touch with gold wrapped chocolates left on our pillow every day. Everything was perfect and we would highly recommend the Bailbrook Lodge Hotel.

Lovely short break”

Had a lovely two night breakaway at this lovely hotel with my mother. We requested a ground floor room as my mother finds stairs very difficult. I think it’s the only ground floor room (no.11 The Crossman Room) was satisfactory , clean with plenty of toiletries , shower caps,shoe shine ,soaps and slippers! Nice quiet dark room for a good nights sleep. Only drawback was that the sink was in bedroom and the (small)shower and toilet were in a separate room so my mother couldn’t manage the shower as it had a step up into it .So she was unable to wash in private unless I left the room. Breakfast was ample with plenty of choice . Staff very pleasant and helpful throughout . Would stay again. Great location.

Lovely old house. Very convenient for catching the bus into Bath. Very welcoming staff and excellent breakfast. Double room quite small though adequate. The wash hand basin is in the bedroom as there is not room in the shower room/toilet which is not ideal. Would stay again but would like a different room and bathroom.

While it’s a little outside of Bath, it’s walkable if you are feeling energetic but also has good access to a bus. With the difficulty driving in Bath, it’s location is ideal and more relaxing than staying in the city.

Lovely hotel in beautiful building, ”

Lovely small hotel, beautiful old building and we had very large room with a 4 poster bed, huge bay window overlooking the garden and hills beyond. Wet room with powerful shower. Breakfast choice was very good, cereals, porridge, fresh fruit, cooked bacon, sausage, eggs etc. .and champagne! Unusually for Bath, the hotel has a car park, then it's either a brisk 20 min walk to town, bus (bus stop outside gate) or drive in. It was the Christmas market when we were and town was very busy so we walked or or got the bus. Staff all friendly & helpful. Loved it and would definitely go back.

The place is not easy to find. If you travel alone at night to the hotel, might struggle a bit. Bed is comfortable. The rooms tend to be bit small for 2 persons but Ok for me since I was traveling alone.You can’t beat the breakfast. It’s just way too lovely. But take the price into consideration I would say generally fine. I enjoyed my stay in general.

Beautiful ”

I've been to bailbrook lodge several times before. Unfortunately this we got a very small room, with a tiny bed. & tiny shower. The bathroom did need some tlc. But as I said, as I've stayed there before and rooms are usually very spacious and beautiful. The rooms & the rest of buildings is spotless. The staff are lovely & very helpful and the breakfast fast is excellent.
