Very basic hotel”

Good location, not too far from the city centre, very basic room ,there was only one set of towels, one small pillow per person ,the water pressure was so low that having a shower was almost impossible,,stuff were polite and helpful..

Lovely weekend away”

Amazing little hotel! Free parking which was a bonus. Food was lovely we had dinner one night which was lovely, a little pricey but the food was amazing. Breakfast was lovely, full English both mornings. Rooms were a bit small but you have everything you need, bed was very comfy. Toilet never flushed properly and shower was very hot water and couldn’t get the right temperature and there wasn’t much pressure in the shower so only got a trickle of water. Other than the bathroom the hotel was lovely, best hotel we have stayed in when visiting Cardiff. Will defiantly return.

Had a damp mould smell as you walked into the room, only one pillow. The hot water tank kept boiling every time someone using the bathroom room and it was very loud noise and didn't get much sleep but my partner managed to get some sleep.

Our room was clean and tidy, shower and bathroom had hot water, towels and was a good size, hotel staff were very helpful, especially the barman, one small problem was the bed, it was a good size, but it dipped in the middle.. could do with firmer one.. overall we had a very nice stay. Thanks.

Like all hotels the showerhead was placed too high to be reached by me . I am 5ft 4" or 163cm if the head was 6" or 15cm lower I could reach it OK.

Basic but cozy clean room, i liked the fact its set out like a motel as you can control your own temperature of the room whixh has been a big thing for me while staying in other hotels as they are normally too hot. Good size TV with plenty of plug sockets, i liked the lights being just above from the bed as yiu can turn them on and off from the bed, facilities where good and even had spare pillows in the wardrobe and the blackout curtains where fantastic. The staff where very friendly and helpful. We didnt eat in the restaurant but from what i could see it was very clean and had good table settings, being in the hospitality and catering industry myself i really appreciate these small things. It was obky about 25 minutes from the city centre and because its located on a business site its off the road and very quiet.only negative things if anything is that there was a very small amount of dust in the room but as i said, very small. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Cardiff.

Excellent value ”

Having stayed at Campanile properties in UK and France in the past, I knew what to expect. Standard basic room and adequate bathroom. Room was clean if not rather tired. Heating efficient. Sound insulation not wonderful. A couple in the block were enjoying “adult exercise”. Not sure what was their nationality- probably English because it only lasted about 5 minutes. For under £30 this is excellent value for money. Situated in an industrial estate on the outskirts of the city it was ideal for me for access to the local cal private hospital but there are regular buses to and from the city and the motorway and city ring road only a mile away. I didn’t use the restaurant so cannot comment on that but did notice that the seating in there was scruffy and cracked.

Staff couldn't be bettered and bedroom clean as a pin but sadly has a tired n rundown look to it. Room cleaners lo brilliant n friendly Restaurant/reception okish a little old n tired but staff n cleanliness exceptional. I've been to France a lot n thought Capanile had a better reputation than this:)

Budget accommodation, but very comfy bed, clean fresh towels and perfect for our requirements. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

Good Value”

Paid Agoda £130.00 for five nights, good value. I'd be reluctant to pay more. One nice surprise was more electric sockets have been added. The down side was more water pressure out of a leaking tap than the shower. The carpet was dirty, walk across with wet feet you'll need to shower again. Commonplace with all Campanile hotels I've stayed at the mattress was extremely well used and stained (although nowhere near as bad as Basildon and Doncaster hotels) Breakfast, from experience is freshly cooked and enjoyable but way overpriced, I'm happy to use the local Asda for breakfast which is now far superior to a Toby breakfast. Happy to stay again provided the price is right for business, not romance.

Budget Hotel”

The staff were courteous on arrival. But walking to the room the first sight was a dirty walk way to get to our room on the other side of the building. The room was stuffy and the bed mattress was not comfortable at all. Lying on it I could feel the springs and the base board. Great location and nice garden surroundings. Suits bookings for budget stays.

Nor the manager was seen the guard was disrespectful by walking in my room to tell me turn tele dwn how rude he has no rite clean rooms but the prices of the food and drink is abousoluley outrageous 2.95 for a can of coke the same price for chocolate as well the food prices are bad to I do think there should b a little fridge people had medication to go in a fridge and in this weather to there’s no where to sit either if yur not going anywhere and it 25 degrees there’s no where for u to sit and chill out again if u talk to loud u get told b quiet u should separate the people tha work an people who has hen party’s or visting Cardiff has or hving a drink to the one side and the workers and quiet ones to the other cause to b told to b quiet at 11 I felt like a child I shouldn’t feel like tha I’m a grown woman and wen yur paying 80 83 pound a room there should have a lot more going on somewhere to sit outside be more friendly and lower the prices I’d recommend it just to go to sleep thsts

Rooms are really small. Didn’t feel safe and we were told we had to pay for Internet. Not suitable for young children because of stairs etc. I would never recommend. Staff broke my plate in the process of hearing up my food in the microwave oven. She did replace it but it’s unfortunate that she couldn't get me the exact replacement plate. Staff didn’t show us empathy on arrival after being told there were no spare mattresses for my children. I had to sleep on the floor whist my wife & 2 young children slept on bed. Really disappointed with the hotel. Would never recommend.

Great location for short bus ride into Cardiff city centre. Good, clean basic rooms that have all you need. Excellent variety of good food available in the bar area. This was our 2nd stay and we will definitely be going again.
