2nd Visit”

We stayed here 2 Christmases ago for the first time as it is convenient for our daughter's flat. We don't tend to eat in the hotel because of this, so can't comment on the food. The rooms are comfortable & the staff friendly & helpful. It is also very useful to us that parking is included. We visit Glasgow too often to go sight seeing much but there are plenty of buses along the road outside for the centre & also Paisley (abbey well worth a visit). Not far from the metro, the Burrell collection (when it re-opens) & Pollock House. Our one complaint is that, returning to the hotel in the dark, it is very hard to spot (dark brick & rather discreet sign).

Perfect for our trip”

Excellent location for visiting family, and great value. Not close to city centre, but has good transport links. Staff very friendly and efficient. Not high class, but clean, comfortable, and very good value. Only downside was lack of control of heating which we resolved by opening the window!

Wedding trip”

The hotel was ideal for us because of its location, close to a venue that we were attending, it was also close to the m 8 motorway, so was easy to find. The staff were very good and arranged an early check for us. Rooms were comfortable with decent sized bathroom,

We use this hotel for going to Rangers games but have also used it plenty when football isn’t on, the subway is close by for shopping trips into town, the staff are very welcoming and also very accommodating, nothing is too much trouble, the food is always very tasty and fresh with good quality ingredients, I just love this hotel.

Nothing was a trouble for the reception team, they made me and my son feel very welcome, we had 2 meals there the waitress at our evening meal was absolutely lovely, she was very attentive and had a lovely manner, The evening meal we chose was gorgeous chicken burger ect I think they were the best chips we have ever had , the room was immaculate and the stocked everything up daily, very hardworking chambermaids/house keepers, maybe 2 things I was a tiny bit disappointed with was the breakfast, the bacon was awful, smokey and thick and there were no hash browns , beans or tomatoes to make the breakfast, there were other things though but the buffet breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, my other small quibble was we were a bit out from the city centre but there was a subway 5 mins walk down the road or Taxis that reception could call and were here within 5 mins, to round it off, I would 100% stay here again, thank you GoGlasgow urban hotel for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic hotel ”

I have stayed here a few times and I love the decor and ambience of the public areas and the rooms. On this occasion though the mattress was a bit lumpy and I'm sure they have moved the smoking area so it is now under some bedrooms which was annoying as I had to listen to smokers talking when I was trying to get to sleep. Still I enjoyed my stay as usual.

Hidden gem. ”

Fantastic value for money. Great location. Breakfast was one of the best I've had. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms are comfortable and decorated to high standards. Parking is free, unlike many in Glasgow. We will certainly stay again.

Great hotel. Rubbish breakfast ”

Hotel lovely - bed the comfiest I've stayed in in a long time. But the breakfast was such a let down. Fruit was sour, veggie breakfast really sparse (I'd have been furious if I'd paid the menu price of 15 quid! ) and my mug, bowl and plate were all dirty! Such a shame as everything else was fab!

Great Hotel”

Very reasonable price for bed and breakfast. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Location was excellent for people driving to Glasgow although a little further out from the city centre (40 min walk or a 5-10 min bus journey). The room was nice with a Tunnock's teacake on the welcome tray which was a great touch. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone driving to Glasgow.

Nice hotel but”

I booked a double room and got a room with two single beds pushed together with a mattress topper over the top causing a hump in the middle of the bed leading to a uncomfortable nights sleep for both my wife and I, but have to say this was the only thing wrong with this hotel it was clean with friendly staff and excellent food.

Definitely should be a 4 star hotel not a 3!!”

We had a fab time at the GoGlasgow from start to finish. We travelled up from Manchester but with satnav we found the hotel easily. It's two minutes away from Ibrox. We have travelled extensively and always stayed in 4-5 star hotels. I was rather worried prior to arrival as this hotel is only classed as a 3 star. I needn't have worried as this hotel is definitely worthy of at least 4 stars! The rooms are clean and have everything needed - hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries, big comfy bed with lovely bedding/ pillows, free wifi. The only drawback is that there is no bath :-( Breakfast consisted of everything one would want - cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, preserves and a hot menu which included full breakfasts, haddock, French toast and bacon etc. We dined at the hotel in the evening once during our stay. Service was slow considering the restaurant wasn't that busy and we waited rather too long for our meal. There were 4 of us dining. I had the fillet steak - £24 for 8oz, could also have had a 12oz for £27! It was beautiful but rather overlooked. Hubby had the fish and chips (£11) and said it was gorgeous. The staff throughout the hotel were all friendly, professional and helpful. Our only negative remark about our stay was that upon our return to our room late one evening after being out for a full day we found our door had been left unlocked by the housekeeping. Fortunately we had left nothing of any value in our room and nothing was missing when we returned. This point however needs addressing by hotel management. All in all, we had a fabulous stay and would definitely return to the hotel as well as recommend it to family/friends.

Glasgow Visit”

Easy to find, efficient & friendly check in. Room large & well equipped. Very clean. Good toiletries but shower not the best. Restaurant for evening meal was excellent for cuisine & staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will definitely return.

Overnight stay for wedding”

We had 2 rooms, for an overnight stop after a relative's wedding. We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of the rooms and the hotel in general. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was a tad expensive but the choice of food on offer was very good. Would certainly stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

Friendly and helpful staff”

We were attending a wedding st the nearby Sherbrooke Castle so the location was ideal for us. Staff at the hotel ordered us taxis to and from the venue on numerous occasions.

Stayed here as a stopover for 1 night,the staff were very helpful but the room smelt(drains) the shower was tiny and would overflow if turn on full (bad drains probably why it smelt).The bathroom door handle was hanging off .room above must have had a leak water marks on the ceiling and wall .This hotel needs money spent on it . This hotel is not worth the money will be staying at a travelodge nearer city centre next time and lot cheaper

Disappointing”

My husband and I were looking forward to our stay at the GoGlasgow Urban Hotel based on the positive reviews we read online. Unfortunately what we found in reality did not fit with the reviews. I would like to say however that the front desk staff were excellent - unfortunately not all staff had the same manner. The first room we were allocated - first impressions were good although it was extremely hot - there was no means of temperature control except to open the window in the room. There was a problem with this as there were large external extractor fans directly outside our window - the noise was irritating and it meant that we had to speak over them to be heard. There was no air conditioning unit or alternative means of reducing the heat therefore we called reception who offered us an electric fan or a move to a cooler room - we accepted the offer of an alternative room as the room was so hot we did not feel the fan would be sufficient. Sadly following the move, we felt that we had been down graded - the alternative room was very basic in comparison - however we were happy that the temperature was much better as we could open the window with no fear of noise from extractor fans and we could at least communicate without shouting over the noise. The main issues with the alternative room included:- A problem with the toilet - the cistern was faulty and would not re-fill after it was flushed. We reported this and asked for it to be looked out whilst we were out, when we returned the flush was still faulty and we had to seek help when we returned later that evening. The bathroom was very small, my husband who is a tall man did not have enough room to move comfortably and there was limited room to brush your teeth - I too found it very cramped. The toilet seat and connectors were grim and had clearly not been cleaned for some time. The water pressure was too low in the shower. The water in the sink took a long time to drain - it remained in the sink whilst we

The hotel staff unprofessional”

Restaurant staff rude and unprofessional, menu presentation was confusing and service lacking. Treated with a mild disdain. My wife was pushed away from banquet table and hands smacked by restaurant manager lady. Even after my wife was directed to go to the table. Room service attempted to enter room several times despite room tags. Later to find room was entered without permission and ignoring door tags. Wifi nonexistent. Broken elevator, carpets cordoned off for maintenance

Value for money”

Stayed here for Glasgow Summer sessions and Paolo Nutini at Bellahouston Park- location of the hotel is perfect as its just a 10 minute walk to the park. All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was compact and clean with modern bright decor and equipped with hairdryer and toiletries. Not ideal for city centre with a taxi setting you back £8-£9 each way.
