The hotel was in a great location but the toilet didn’t flush very well and the towel heater was out of date for its electrical test. The bed was comfortable. No drinking water in the room. Parking was spot in although £13 a day was a bit expensive.

Hotel is in a decent location but please note if you are driving and there's a sporting event on at the nearby stadium, that the roads around the hotel will be blocked and you won't be able to access the hotel or its car park. We had to park in town, walk to the hotel and then go back and move the car at 7:00pm which was a hassle. Prices vary hugely - from £70 per night to £200+, depending on whether there's an event on. Hotel was ok - 3 star at best, rooms and facilities were a bit tired looking and old fashioned but staff were friendly.

We had a lovely overnight break here. Good value for money, excellent breakfast, handy parking although possibly the smallest hotel room we have stayed in. This didn’t matter to us though for a one night stay

Friendly staff, great location However room very small, i booked double room 25m2 and it was 16 m2 or less, bed's feet was broken, no privacy,house keeping staff opened the room's door several times with out knocking the door. Really disappointed

Holiday Inn Cardiff”

Very central location and we had 2 rooms on the quiet side overlooking the Principality Stadium as the other side is on the main road opposite the castle. Very clean and comfortable and helpful staff. We had a meal there and food was very good. We joined their points club so got free parking. Would go there again.

No frills but perfection location in the centre”

We got a really good deal on a two-night stay and had no complaints. Location wise this is pretty hard to beat as its 2 minutes to the castle, and close enough to the buzzing centre to enjoy nightlife etc but far enough to not have any noise. Our room was pretty spacious (bathroom not so much) and overlooking the stadium. Everything was clean and comfortable - only thing missing was a safe. Good service from the front desk and wide choice at breakfast. You could even ask for gluten-free bread if you needed it. Would stay again if I got a good deal on price.

Excellent location, Very courteous staff but breakfast timing should be preponed to 630 am on week ends as well. Room size is small for double occupants

Dismal room condition”

Hotel was located within walking distance from the Cardiff Sophia garden coach station, Cardiff castle and shopping arcades. The room was disappointing as it was quite small, kinda old/rundown. But overall, clean. The thermostat in the room does not work as the temperature is centrally controlled. There is also no mini fridge in the room. I was placed in a room at the end of the corridor facing the main road.... the area just outside the room had no lights and I could hear the traffic noise from my room even though I was on the 6th storey. I probably won’t return to this hotel.

from 1st day,made to feel welcome by friendly efficient staff. One in particular Leigh in the office reservations was very helpful,welcoming and friendly. Had large family meeting for the 1st time from the Usa. They loved the buffet and everything. Great place to stay,recommended.

The hotel is very near the Cardiff Castle, just opposite with walking distance 5-10 mins. Walking to city of Cardiff is only 15 mins. The location should be very good. However, the room is so small for family of three pax. We have 2 big luggage and one small luggage so the whole room is so crowded and we could barely move inside. The flush for toilet is not working at all and we actually need to go down to use the public toilet. There is a charge for parking fees up to 24 hours, parking space is quite small, outdoor. Overall, the hotel has a very good location to go city for food and shopping and visit the castle.
