Great choice for break”

Even though located in cardiff was so enjoyable to hang out at the hotel we ll probably return just to relax. Really friendly helpful staff, great restaurant and accessible pool open till 10pm. Parking on site. Great for an escape or to explore the city.

Disappointed ”

We booked this hotel so we could use the pool facilities, we where not informed that these where closed. The rooms where to hot to sleep in and there is no conditioning in some rooms. The carpets where filthy

A great hotel”

We stayed here for 2 nights for an event at the Motorpoint arena. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from both the arena and the main shopping district, and about 30 minutes walk from Cardiff Bay. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. The reception team were welcoming and helpful, and Marcus made you feel at home straight away. The pool is a good size and fitness facilities are clean & well maintained. The restaurant was bright, airy and relaxing. The food was delicious, fresh, reasonably priced and arrived quickly. The breakfast offered was plentiful and varied. With Sabrina on duty to ensure nothing ran out and that the children could reach everything they needed. Lily was very welcoming and put us at ease immediately. Lit was the perfect host, he made sure we had enough of everything and brought small little extras to the table much to the delight of the children. He even preempted is needing to fill our water bottles and filled them with ice cold water without being asked. All the staff we interacted with were fantastic at what they do and really made our trip more enjoyable. A very big thank to the all especially Marcus & Lit.

Dated, needs a revamp”

Needs renovation, needs a good clean, carpets are filthy, cobwebs everywhere. Pretty basic. Changing rooms need cleaned. Only good thing is the location and friendly bar staff. Reception staff could do with customer service training

Night away”

Good location. Can walk to the central of Cardiff in 15 mins. The bar at the hotel was very relaxed and made better by happy hour. Hot busy at times but happy to wait. Only used the pool in the morning and couldn’t fault it. A good overnight stay

£180 for a night is not cheap”

Pleasant staff and amenities

No Hot Water”

The room was decent enough, but there was no hot water for a shower in the morning - and it wasn't just me, I heard the neighbouring guests complaining about the same thing. In a less pricey hotel, I might not have been so bothered, but at over £100 a night a hot shower is a basic minimum. And when I mentioned it to reception, they did thank me for letting them know, but they were more interested in interrogating me about how much I had for breakfast and whether they ought to charge me more for that. (For the record, I had a cooked breakfast plus a bit of toast, which for a tenner I'd say was about right, but I got the impression they wanted to charge me another tenner for the toast.)

We had a lovely stay here, very close to the town center without being right in the middle of, clean, friendly staff and fab pool!

Book the Restaurant if you want to eat”

Stayed 2 nights as a family of four with teenage boys. Facilities and staff generally good, although no table available in the restaurant on the first night, booked second time around, but had to wait an hour for food.

Comfortable room”

The room was very clean and comfortable with all the necessary facilities. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection of well cooked food and drink. We will certainly stay here again.

Not overly impressed.”

Initial impressions were great, the lobby is modern and funky and the staff have a friendly welcome. We'd booked an 'executive' room as a treat weekend away but the room was anything but luxurious. It was badly laid out,had a tiny bathroom and a strange 3-4 metre gap between the bed and TV and a tiny window with a view of the neighbouring block of flats. The room was soul-less and we felt very disappointed as we had stayed in far nicer rooms in other hotels. A statement on the room key said to contact staff if not completely satisfied, I decided this was one of those times. The member of staff couldn't have been more helpful, she collected us and took us to our new room within 5 minutes, we were given another executive room on the top floor, complete with balcony. Our new found joy turned slightly sour as we settled into the room though, the room appeared to have not had any maintenance for some time. There were chunks of plaster missing from wall corners, cracks and dirty marks on the walls and the overall impression of the room was not of a 4 star standard. There were positives- the bed and bedding were comfortable, the hotel pool/spa area was great and the staff were helpful and friendly whenever they are approached. We walked to Cardiff centre in the evening for food, it's not a route we'd feel very safe walking in the early hours but it only took 5 minutes.

Nice hotel, average location, great fitness centre”

This is a solid hotel without being inspiring. Feels a little generic, like a business hotel. The staff though were great, the fitness centre with a well equipped gym, pool, steam, sauna and spa is great and the breakfast and dinner were also very good.
