Great vintage hotel in city centre with presonality and great staff”

The hotel is located in a beautiful Bath Stone building within walking distance of city centre's shopping and sightseeing areas. The rooms are traditional, very comfortable and clean, although there is some squeak in the floorboards which become quite noticeable as you walk around the room (perhaps trying to be quiet if another member of your family is sleeping :) ). The breakfast service is excellent, with a buffet of fruit and cereals, and a menu for made-to-order cooked breakfasts. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. There is limited off-road parking around the corner if you reserve it first, for a small charge, although if the lot is small and parking can be difficult if there are several cars already there. There is a public car park about 3 minutes long the road, and you can buy a ticket for the following day on the night before to save you having to get there early.

Hotel decor is a little tired but this is made up for by the little extras in room ie cafetière and fresh coffee and teapot instead of teabag in the cup. Meal in evening was first class as were the staff

A memorable stay in Royal hotel with excellent staffs and delicious breakfast. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Will definitely come back! Highly recommended.

Good location with perfect breakfast but require d more standard facilities such as good free WiFi connectivity and air-conditioned equipped in the room when compared with the price of payment.

We stayed in a 'small double' room which may have been small but it was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a short stay so was good value for money. Be careful if you book the car park: there are only 6 spaces and the last one is really small especially if all the other cars are large. The staff however are very helpful and knowledgable about the area and can recommend an alternative.

Great Place”

The Royal Hotel was a perfect place to stay in the historic city of Bath. The nineteenth century has been nicely updated but retains its historic character. The beds was terrific, the amenities excellent, the breakfast good. And the staff was extremely polite and helpful.

Great location across rail & bus stations along Dorchester Rd. Easy access to most tourist attractions by foot. Hotel staff is friendly & helpful. Hotel serves good breakfast w many hot meal choices.

It’s alright ”

The hotel had more of a B&B feel to it when we arrived, receptionist was very nice, checked into room on second floor, rooms are nice, a bit dated, floors creek like mad but it is an old building, locks on door hard to lock and unlock. Breakfast was nice although not overly keen on the sausages. Bar area was good with a good selection of drinks and staff were nice. Located opposite Bath Spa train station, across the road from Debenhams which is at the bottom of the high street so all in al not a bad location. I would recommend but I don’t think I would return, I think I could find something nicer and cheaper. Friday and Saturday cost £305 but I will be honest and say we did have the last room which was a family so effectively I paid for 3 people to stay when it was only 2

Old charm with mod cons”

When you walk into this hotel, you think Poirot will turn up at any point. It's a 19th century hotel brought into the 21st century without losing any of its old charm. It's quirky and comfortable and very friendly. If you want to stay in a hotel with a character that you will remember, right next to the train and bus stations and the city centre, this is the hotel for you. The breakfast is excellent, and they also have a bar and a restaurant that serve food during the day, so you can just come 'home' for dinner after spending the day exploring.

Comfortable for solo female traveller”

Royal Hotel is in a superb location, across the street from the Bath train station and incredibly easy walking distance (about two minutes) to everything else. Roman Baths, Abbey, shopping, pubs, restaurants etc.. Very easy place to relax over a drink at the bar at the end of the day. Pleasant restraurant.

We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Hotel in Bath. It is very conveniently located right next to the train station, making the location very good for us. It is also so close to a lot of the sites of the city. The highlight was the breakfast, which was absolutely amazing! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Bath.

Gorgeous accommodations close to train station ”

The staff were genuinely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay a great success. The town is a well-preserved and magical place; we did not want to leave! Hotel is immaculate and beautifully decorated, really a "royal" experience!

Perfect location. Brilliant staff. So helpful ”

Receptionists were more than helpful Bedrooms were perfectly clean Restaurant times were not flexible. On arrival at almost empty restaurant, with 30 minutes to go, we were told it was fully booked. Clearly they wanted it empty by 9 pm

Convenient location and lovely hotel”

Well situated for trains, buses and visiting bath. All easy walking distance. Room lovely. Breakfast choice tasty and plenty. Evening meal fairly priced and delicious. Hotel staff friendly and welcoming.

Excellent Hotel”

The Royal Hotel was perfect place to stay for a few days. The bed was comfy. The customer service from front desk was exceptional. The room rate included a nice breakfast. While breakfast is not always a selling point for me, it was nice to stay some place with a wide selection of breakfast items that tasted very good. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice welcoming hotel in good location ”

Overnight stay whilst bringing daughter back to university. Found the hotel to be friendly, clean and in a good location. Hotel parking was limited but station car park across is he road so this wasn't a problem. Would stay here again.

Door handle/lock on our room a bit suspect and needed staff to show us it locks from the inside!! Also, we were told no bag storage unless you came down early to put your bags in which we didn't want to do. No parking available either so another £20 having to park in nearby car park.

Excellent location. Friendly staff ”

The location is prefect. Just opposite of rail station. You won't be able to missed it. We were probably the last to check in, so when we arrived the hotel, everything was ready. We left Bath Spa late at 7ish pm and the hotel staff are very helpful in keeping our luggage. Friendly staff. The room is very clean and the toilet is spacious. Definitely recommend it

Great location”

Located right next to the train/bus station and shops, we found the Royal Hotel a great place to stay. A bit lacking in the facilities but par for the course in this type of hotel, I suppose. Front counter staff could also have been a bit clearer regarding the availability of reserved parking spaces.
