Not up to standard”

I have stayed in a number of hotels across Kazakhstan and Central Asia on this trip, and this was probably my least favorite. The hotel is way far out of the center where all the interesting buildings and landmarks are, the entire staff does not speak English so I had to rely on Google Translate, just to check in. The room was pretty dirty and had a faint cigarette smell to it even though there are signs in Russian everywhere that say that they'll fine you 5000 KZT for smoking in the room. It took the water over 30 minutes to get hot for the shower, and in 3 days, I killed maybe a half dozen mosquitoes in the room. The entire rest of the hotel (including most of the rooms on the same floor I was staying) seemed to be under construction or being remodels. There is also NO WiFi in the entire hotel, so I had to use my roaming on my phone just to look up simple things. The breakfast is nothing special: a very greasy set of 2 fried eggs, processed sausage, tea/coffee and stale bread. Definitely would not recommend for more than one evening.

Good option, interesting city”

In the old town, safe neigbourhood. Bus 21 travels between railway station passing one block west of the hotel on Zhenis Dangyly to the sights in the new city. Bus 10 traverses between the international airport and the railway station passing one block east of the hotel along Beibitshilik. 90Tenge a ticket, pay conductor walking the bus. Staff helpful in basic English. Can leave your bags after checkout (say catching the 18:53 overnight train to Almaty)

Not as expected”

The single room description mentioned free toiletries, refrigerator and kettle but none of these things were present. The bathroom had not been cleaned since the last guest even though I checked in after noon. A little on the expensive side I thought. The staff were friendly enough and I enjoyed the breakfast.

Decent Hotel”

It was good hotel to stay, we enjoyed. Staff is professional and courteous, food was good as we enjoyed all our meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) but breakfast quality and variety was good but mostly staff can not understand English properly.

Cozy place for stay ”

I stayed in Astana in the beginning of December and searched for me budget and safe place in the center of the city. I found it nice hotel, location is nice, the room is clean, bed is comfortable (i was lucky and got king size bed), furniture is quite new, towels and bath facilities are also good, hotel provide free wi-fi (it's good option, not so good for skype or watching movies, but for mails, booking of tickets is fine), the staff is always polite and helpful, place is safe (there is a security man and no noisy, drunk or criminal people). Breakfast is average, but it was not very important for me. The food in the restaurant is tasty and not expensive, room service is available. Definately recommended for solo travellers who are willing to stay in the center of the city and solve some buisness or private questions for economical price

Affordable”

Well it wasn't particularly fancy, but utilitarian. Breakfast was simple but good. Instant powder coffee. WiFi in my particular room was pretty weak but worked mostly. It's pretty low budget but then so was I this trip. Had a small hassle with the staff being unaccustomed to Agoda, so they wanted my credit card. Not rude or demanding, but perhaps nervous I was going to bolt and they'd see no money. A quick Skype call to Agoda cleared it right up (awesome, Agoda, thank you). This is in the old part of town.
