There are only pros to staying at the ART Hotel. The price is very reasonable. The hotel is very clean and the staff is super friendly! There are many places to eat as well. Very convenient if you want to take the bus too. Again, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great for one night!”
We were trying to maximize our JR Rail Pass and traveled to Niigata for one night and stayed at the Art Hotel. It was perfectly located right at the station and walking distance to all the sights we wanted to see during our short time in the city (Sake Brewery & Sushi!). We might have stayed elsewhere if we had more time but for a quick stop this hotel was the perfect fit.

Good location and spacious”
The hotel itself is very nice clean and the room is bigger than the regular Japanese hotels, very comfortable with 4 big luggage’s spread open and still got room to walk around. Connected to Niigata station at level 2, but need to walk past Bic Camera and the route there isn’t luggage friendly - be prepared to carry it up and down the stairs a bit. Lobby is on the 4th floor. Cons: walls are rather thin so can hear the next room talking loudly or when people are leaving early in the morning in the hallway. Air conditioning was centralised and kept blasting warm air and also no black out curtains

Spacious room, Great Location”
Stayed 2 nights at Art Hotel. Simple, functional hotel, great for travellers who typically spend the whole day out. The room is very spacious by Japan standards and has the necessary amenities. Check-In was fuss-free. Location was fantastic, just a few minutes walk to Niigata station.

Comfortable but small rooms”
This hotel was very well priced but I'd only recommend it to solo travellers (or two very small people who never bicker!) I was impressed by the good value of the restaurant for dinner, much less expensive than going out and of equal quality. It's very much oriented to business travellers rather than tourists.

Pro: good location Con: for the price, there are other business hotel nearby like toyoko, that is cheaper. Art hotel looks prettier but the air con's control is only high/mid/low (central aircon style, no separate aircon system which is a downer when you are in the middle of Japan's summer)

The location is perfect, which is the part of the train station’s building. All good, except the floor’s toilet has a bit of urine’s odour. Perhaps better if the cleaner also scrub the toilet’s floor?

Hotel is just beside train station. Size is kinda small but fine for a couple. Sadly, there's nothing to do in Niigata. Doubt I'll be going back Niigata.

The hotel is connected to the Niigata Train Station so it could not have been more convenient. The staff was very polite and efficient. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is outstanding with offerings of a wide selection of Japanese dishes as well as typical Western fares. We bought a day pass for the Niigata Loop Bus which circled around the city passing all the major attractions. The major shopping areas was about a half hour walk. The side streets are very interesting and made the walk seem very short,

The hotel is just a short walk from station in a covered walkway. The rooms are spacious and clean. The foods offered by the Japanese restaurant are delicious. Hotel guests can have an unlimited supply of teabags and coffee bags from the front desk.

This hotel is located next to JR station but we need to use stair or need to go down to the ground floor and go up again to reach the lobby area. The hotel is clean but has the smell of cigarette even in the non-smoking floor. Staff is good but not friendly.
