The Best ♥️”
The money you spent here is given back to you with amazing service from staff and the views from your private onsen bath. Oh my gosh... This place is amazing. The fact that it came with a 7 course dinner on our first night and breakfast the next day was splendid! The 7 course Japanese style dinner is everything!! The food was delicious! I specially booked this because of the private onsen in the room and it was so glorious. Holy wow!! I wish I booked 2 nights!! My biggest regret. But no worries, we'll be back once I save up enough for a 3 night stay because my goodness.... That's the minimum you need. Also the vending machine with the match Latte is divine. Omg. Get some (1st floor) Thank you to the wonderful staff!!

Good resort for relaxing ”
We booked with a private onsen in our room, well worth the money. Dinners were amazing and delicious. We loved making our own sushi rolls. We picked the "western" breakfast for the 2nd day and I was hankering for the "japanese" version...it has more variety and flavor. Staff were top notch. The Japanese "pajamas" were so soft and comfy (and you can walk around the hotel in them!). The resort is away from everything. The onsen faced the forest, river, and hills; incredible for relaxing. You can hear some road noise, but the river covers the noise decently. Didn't hear our neighbors much. Our only recommendation to the hotel: the musk reed fragrance was very strong and overwhelming for the senses. We left it outside on the window during our visit.

Awesome stay”
Staff were fast in their response, very professional when he brought us to our room and introduced all the facilities, even sent us to the station nearby. The stay was very comfortable and room was big. Love the indoor and private onsens, felt very luxury. The view from our room opened to a beautiful dam. Dinner and breakfast was great! Will definitely be back again!

Excellent services. A+ facilities & food”
We are a family of three with a 12 years old. We stayed at the Premium Suite for two nights and it is a fantastic experience. We arrived early around 1 pm just want to leave our luggage, to our surprise, we are able to check in right away. The guest manager gave us very detail plan for our afternoon & the next day's sight seeing. The driver drove us to the Picasso Open Air museum without charge, so we managed to arrive there y 3 o'clock & have enough time to see the whole place ! The food there is amazing, especially the dinner at the first night. They have 8 courses and it was delicious & the portion was just right. The onsen inside the room is awesome, the temperature is just right & the hot tub will fit in a family of 4 ( about 5 feet diameter ). The futon sitting area is also big enough to sleep two more adults. The price might seem steep but when you take out $100 for food per person per day, the price is about right for Hakone, I highly recommend this hotel for families stay.

Very relaxing, tranquil hotel with private onsen”
Managed to book the room with a private onsen, which turns out to be a great, memorable experience. The tub has a very nice view of the river next to the hotel, the sound from the water stream is truly relaxing and comforting. Breakfast and dinner were included in the package, and the experience was really great. Not only that each guest is served with individual meal, a mix of cold and warm dishes, but the meals are always different day by day. There are no other eating options around within walking distance (no issue if you drive), but the hotel is anyway a very relaxing place & you won't feel like going out, just enjoy the private onsen and the natural sound from the stream.

Suite with balcony onsen”
My husband and I stayed here for one night during our honeymoon. The room and balcony and private onsen were out of this world. We also enjoyed the 9 course Japanese evening meal and Japanese style breakfast. The only downside was that this was one of the most expensive places we stayed in Japan, but perhaps with good reason - it was wonderful.

We loved Manatei Hakone Hotel. From the moment we walked in and changed into the traditional Japanese clothing provided, we were taken to a different world. Onsen, dinner, breakfast (even craft beer)! Wonderful!

Relaxing”
This experience even only just for a night was so relaxing and nice. The pravote bath we had was amazing and we even gave the facilities private bath it was still a fun experience but deffinatly worth the money for a private in room bath. We had our first experience at a kaiseki meal, unfortunately for my husband he was unwell at time and couldn't eat much. For myself though it was amazing the attention to detail with everything and the flavours yum. Very different so beware. Overall an amazing and relaxing experience.

Everyone has to stay in Hakone at least for one night. It’s a nice getaway from the big cities. Bus ride from Odawara station brings you literally right across from the hotel. Staff was great and spoke English very well. It’s worth it to get your own onsen in the room so you can use it whenever you would like. The temperature was perfect. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast. I wished we stayed one more night.

Great Ryokan!”
This was a great Ryokan to stay in! We booked a suite on the 5th floor with our own private onsen as we were traveling with a young child, but they have 3 onsen that you can use privately which we did take a look at and a public one for men and women as well. The dinner and breakfast were both superb, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Our room was fantastic, and for the money we paid (which was quite a bit) we felt like it was well worth it. The only downside (if there is one) is that although it is within a literal stones throw of Jakotsuno bus station, if you want to do anything you have to take a bus, as the roads are too hilly and dangerous to walk. The buses are easy, but can be congested. Other than that, just as an FYI to anyone traveling, this place was very very nice!!

Quiet place and nice food”
Western style hotel with modified Kaseki Cuisine. Location is quiet and bus stop is near by. Bath tube in the room which is good for bath lover. Staff is professional and friendly. Good dinner is highly recommended. Get used to bus is important to get to place of sight seeing.

A very lovely hotel”
We booked a suite with private spring bath for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our breakfast and dinner were AWESOME! Although the hotel is not at the town area, we enjoyed the peaceful and lovely surrounding. Easy to move around Hakone by bus, train, cable car and ropeway. Bus stop is just 1 minute walk from hotel and train station is about 10 mins walk. Highly recommend this hotel! They don't have many rooms so better book early to avoid disappointment! :)

Good Dinner and breakfast!”
We love the Kaiseki dinner experience. All the dishes are very delicious! Breakfast is quite a surprise too! Staff is very helpful and kind to send us to and fro from Kowakidani station to the hotel. They are very attentive to serve you. Private onsen that comes with the room is good!

Great stay”
We stayed one night at this hotel in a room with a private onsen. The hotel stay was overall fine, however, this is a hotel in need of some improvements. Location was alright, as most hotels in Hakone are located spread out across the area. Easily reachable with local busses. English staff is only present till 6 pm. We had a question and request in the evening. It worked out with sign language but English staff should be available at all times. The included dinner and breakfast was alright - we had been in Japan for 14 days by then and had had better meals. The hotel itself looks tired. A lot of old furniture - not antique, just old. And the room was too stuffy with too many furnitures all over. Bed was comfortable though and very spacious. All in all, for the price I expected a lot more.

Found a fishbone in sushi of dinner, should not happen in a hotel cost that much.
