Lovely hotel”
I stayed here for one night with my partner and we both really loved the Aubrey park hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was very clean and the breakfast was just right. It’s very easy to get to and once your off the road it’s like you’ve entered another world. Would recommend a stay for sure

Good Hotel”
Good hotel, albeit a little tired in areas. Also, the single lift was out of order during our stay of 3 days. On our last day (9th June) a sign appeared stating that parts had been ordered and the lift would be retuned to service on 31st July! Not what is expected from a four star hotel! However we enjoyed our stay and we were generally very pleased with all the facilities. Also, the food, particular dinner in the restaurant was excellent inspect of quality, presentation and value for money. Very happy to recommend this hotel.

Lovely looking place in lovely front grounds. Breakfast was very nice with decent choice of food - although the scrambled eggs left a bit to be desired. The bed was quite hard but we don't mind that, however, the pillows needed replacing as they were thin and hard, also the bedroom furniture is a tad "tired" and old fashioned, albeit very clean

My room was clean, and the decor was nice. My room was a long trek from reception with little flights of stairs at various points, so it was a little bit of a struggle with heavy bags after a long day at work.

We stayed the one night. Room was clean . Fresh towels,toiletries and coffee making facility. Check-in was straight forward but staff did not go out their way to make you feel welcome , but just did their job. We had breakfast next morning but it was luke warm at best. Not recommended for the cooked breakfast. The hotel is little out of the way so best to have use of a car. We went into St Albans for the day and didn't want to use the car, so walked the mile there and back to Chequers Public House bus stop to get the bus to st Albans (£4.90 return) as local bus times do not connect. Everything was okay. We had a clean room, bed and hot shower.

Good stay but …”
Couple of things that are important but might have just been my room, toilet flush not refilling properly, shower guard not appropriate which causes water to go everywhere in the toilet. Everything else was perfect :)

Hotel a bit 'tired' Staff very helpful.”
As a Blue Badge holder I was pleased with parking near to the hotel. However my room was up stairs and the lift was not working. My room was quite a walk from reception after going up the stairs and there were no other rooms closer available. The man on reception kindly took my case up to my room for me. When I checked in, three out of the four toilets in the ladies, reception area, were dirty which was off putting.

Weekend break ”
On arrival everything looked good but only a few minutes of being in our room and using the bathroom there was a terrible smell from the drains and when we came to wash our hand the sink only produced scolding hot water, you could not turn it to cold or even cool. Went and reported it to reception who said they would sort it, but as we were only there for one night nothing got done. We used the public toilets near the reception which weren’t very clean either.

Had a 2 night stay here and the first day & night's stay was a disaster had to wait at the bar for 10-15 minutes for a drink as a wedding was going on and the bar manager was busy with them I said say that there was other guests in the hotel as well. We went to our room at the end of the night and there was a small humming noise which we thought would go but it got louder so at 3am I went down to reception to ask if we could sleep in different room to get some sleep then change rooms in the morning only to be told they were full with wedding guest man was very unhelpful just moved him shoulders up into the air & said there was nothing he could do I was so angry. So had no sleep that night in the morning I asked to see the manager & told him what had happened he then took me to 2 rooms which were free so I could move I told I was told there was no free rooms he just said sorry we did move but feel disappointed that nothing like a refund on the first night stay back or a gesture was not offer to me even a bottle if wine would have showed that they were sorry. Rooms and general look of the hotel need attention would put it at a 2* or 3* hotel not 4* very poor staffing who wee not very friendly I feel.
