We've been in worst ”

We booked this hotel because of the nice reviews but when we went there it was very disappointing - the hotel is badly maintained. We didn't know what time we will arrive and when we went there the front door was locked. We called the landlady and she was rude - she said that she can't stay the whole day there. Anyway the bigger problems were that our private bathroom was far from the room as you have to cross through the hallway and the steps to get there. When you get there - you can here everything trough, I could here how my bf washes his hands in the bathroom from the room and if someone talks in the hallway sounds like it's inside the room. The heating also stops at 11pm as the hot water - if you would like to take a shower it's impossible after that. Not to mention the window in the bathroom couldn't close. During the breakfast in the morning everyone was asked if he wants more and if everything was alright but not us as we are foreigners and we didn't fit in the fake manners.

Great location just out of the turmoil”

We attended the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh whilst there were so many other events on in the city - central Edinburgh was chaotic. Aynetree Guest House is in the perfect position to be away from the chaos but be only a short bus trip to the city... and the bus-stop's right outside the door! The guesthouse itself is lovely, great breakfast and our hosts were only too willing to help with advice and directions to get around Edinburgh.

Location, food, bed.

The King Size room was actually quite small and pokey. – the bed was King size, made by joining two singles together. It was quite comfortable though. The bathroom was very small. There was no conveniently placed power point for the kettle, so it had to sit on the floor. The biggest drawback, in our opinion, was the lack of a guest lounge. The location of the B&B was quite good – there was a bus stop right outside, with bus leaving frequently during the day for the City. The breakfast was good, but a cooked breakfast had to be ordered the previous day.

Fantastic Home feel guest house”

Bkfst, close to transpo, cleanliness

We stay as a family of 2 adults and 2 children, very comfortable and close to town. The public bus stops in front of hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

this was a wonderful little victorian guest house. the breakfast was amazing if you like lots to eat! the great feature was the handy bus to the historic centre which left from the door and stopped near to the castle. the place was very clean.the two owners were very helpful and informative and the bus was in town in 15 mins.

Ottima soluzione”

Sono stata al B&B 3 notti. Pulitissimo, gestori molto gentili, appena fuori Edimburgo ma ottimamente servito dagli autobus che portano nel centro città. La spiaggia di Portobello è a 5 minuti. La nostra camera era un po' piccolina ma confortevole e pulita. Ottima e abbondante la colazione. Assolutamente consigliato!
