beautiful house, welcoming family.”
We had a fantastic stay at the Ba Duc Ancient House. The hotel is actually a wonderful homestay. The guest area is in a building behind the family home which is a beautifully maintained traditonal house. The main portion of the house has the tradtional ancestor worship cabinets and the grounds are free for guests to wander around. The owner is very willing to give you information about the house. The house is set in fruit orchards and much of the fresh fruit is served at the meals. During our stay we were made to feel very welcome by the family and staff. The owner offered us fishing rods and baits (free of charge) to fish for cat fish in his pond. The evening meal and breakfast were served in the courtyard and the food was lovely. The room was basic but very clean and furnished with lovely wooden items. Air con and hot water worked well. Very comfortable. The hotel is set right on the riverside and is very quiet and peaceful, perfect get away for relaxation, or a change to see vietnam away from the tourist trail. The hotel itself is quite hard to find, i would suggest hiring a boat or private transport from Saigon or My Tho. The owner was able to sort out motorbikes and bus to get us back to My Tho afterwards, but we had some trouble finding it using public transport. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the Ancient House and would very much recommend this hotel.

very relaxing”
As already stated, Ba Duc Ancient house, is traditional Vietnamese architecture surrounded by a large garden. It is a family business and the owner is a heir of the founder. It is very different from other hotels, and while it lacks some of the amenities of luxury hotels, it has true class and superb food. Maybe not for everyone but perfect for us, as we relaxed there before going directly to Ho Chi Min city airport to embark on a 24 hour journey back home.

Pleasant guesthouse ”
The stay was pleasant and food very good. Overall a nice stay. Beware when ordering as food portions are rather very generous. Also beds could benefit being softened. Much to hard for us. Felt like sleeping directly on the floor. So if you have a week back as I do this guesthouse is not recommended.

Amazing experience in the Mekong ”
It's a beautiful structure with neat rooms. The family is so nice and helpful. The food service is the most efficient ever. Whatever we requested was delivered perfectly on time. Very tasty local food was served by them. A great base to explore the Mekong if you need air conditioning in your room.

to expansive for the value ”
the staff is very nice, the house is an old colonial house with large garden , they serve me a great dinner and good lunch.the room is basic, no bed side furniture, no lamp for read in the night , no television, the internet doensnt work well.they charge me one dollar for a small bottle of water. i guess this one is very expansive for what they offer. the owner is nice and frendly person.and the food is good, i enjoy .i stay only one night.

Nicest Hjometsay in Mekong Delta”
We stayed there as an overnight for the Mekong Cruise on the next day and it was a pity we did not have more time to enjoy the place. Warmly recommended, though not totally easy to find for the taxi driver.

Pho-ney”
The bed was as hard as a Papua New Guinea Prison gang leader. The fact that the swarm of American tourists that had disembarked off a cruise and were poking around our room had fresh fruits and coffee but we were treated to a nano banana that had fallen off the tree, last century was slightly galling. It's about 5km off a dirt track on a terrifying motoscooter so not one for those not travelling light. We were locked out at 7:30pm so my 40 year old boyfriend had to scale a 9ft gate to get in. Aside from that, great. Definitely not worth more than £30 a night and that's being generous.

à eviter”
Cai Bé ne vaut pas d'y passer une nuit. Ba Duc encore moins.
