We will go again”
We visited San Diego during phase 2 covid time. Not many things were open there was no pool, no housekeeping, and you had to wear masks everywhere if you wanted any service. Everyone was fantastic so patient and responsive and helpful. They brought lots of towels to the room and bottles of water. All the housekeeping was so nice and friendly maintaining social distancing. Loved the private beach on one side of the resort. The real beach was a walk away for the older teenagers if they wanted the hustle and bustle of mission beach. It was great. I can’t wait to go back. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. It was a great experience.

We went to bahia resort for our anniversary as a mini getaway. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and helpful, checking in was quick and easy. The grounds were nice, felt like we were far from home. Nice little private beach with every thing needed to have a relaxing day or evening by the water. Down the road within walking distance is an amusement park and places to eat, yes a Starbucks is near as well. If you’re from L.A area it has a Venice beach vibe.. The room we got was a Standard double bed and it did the job, it was pretty basic ..tv, two beds and a restroom. My wife said it needed another mirror besides the one in the restroom. If you plan on being out and about the room will be fine. One thing that bugged me was some of the fixtures in the restroom were loose on the wall.. not a deal breaker but it bugged me.. The grounds had a very tropical vibe to it with all the plants and trees with little walkway running thru it. Took a nice little walk. Overall there was a lot of things to do that are close by and i would recommend staying there and i will stay there again next time im in town.

Beautiful property abundant with old growth trees and different species of flowers set on the bay a short walk from the beach. The staff is unmatched! You will be greeted by check-in clerks who are knowledgeable and kind. They will quickly and patiently help the weary traveler find their room. A special shoot-out to the young man in the lobby who was there for all other questions pertaining to our visit! WOW! He was kind, informative, and funny! I wish I had got his name! The restaurant is great! The food is fresh, delicious and amazing! Bring your appetite because the portions are enormous! We were served by Rachael who was uplifting, attentive, and charming! She was awesome! I must mention how kind, courteous, and hard-working our house-staff was! Our week-end at the Bahia was what we needed in these trying times . . .

Excellent Anniversary Spot”
If you are looking for a great place to escape with your hubby this is it! We upgraded to the beach front room, and for future visits it’s all we’re going to book. It is also kid friendly and very very clean. 10/10 recommend! Short drive to Little Italy, short drive to Old Town, right near Sea World.

Great Getaway”
Bahia Resort, with its private beaches on Mission Bay, is a great resort to visit to escape the daily grind. Even with the current conditions of Covid-19, their staff is working hard to provide the best service possible. Many of their amenities are still open, such as the pool and bike/kayak rentals. Their staff all wear masks and they even leave a package in your hotel room with masks and sanitizing spray just in case you need them. You can order food to go or room service, or make a reservation for outdoor seating at their cafe. The first night we were there, they were having a movie night on the beach. There's free wi-fi, and it's pet friendly, too! The rooms are a tiny bit outdated, but not too bad. It's close to the public beach and lots of great restaurants and other activities. It's also just a few minutes' drive to Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, Sea World, Old Town, and Mission Hills. Overall, we had an excellent stay and hope to come back soon.

There is nothing bad I can say about this resort. My whole family loved it here. The room was very large, wonderful view of the bay. Easy access to the water. The boat tour was great!! My youngest didn't want to leave!! We will definitely be staying here again!!

The did a great job to accommodate me on my second night. I end staying one more day but there was a problem with the location for the second night because of my dogs. They came back to me a couple of minutes later and found me a room. I will definitely be coming back 2 a year

No frills tropical getaway ”
We stayed at the Bahia Resort in San Diego because we had heard the hotel staff was good about wearing masks and social distancing. The staff was not only practicing those measures, but also provided great customer service throughout the trip. Some of the hotel guests did not wear masks but folks generally kept their distance and our family wore our masks when outside. We were pleasantly surprised that that the private beach was not too crowded during this Labor Day weekend. We chose not to relax at the public side as it was crowded and noisy. One of our rooms faced the public beach, but the noise level tapered off after 8pm and wasn't bad. Parking was not too much of a problem, but the lot itself is fairly narrow if you drive a big SUV . We enjoyed our stay here because the property is reminiscent of our stays in older hotels in Maui. Some people think the style is "dated' but we like to think of it as a throwback to simpler times. The vibe was very chill and also allowed our teenagers and dogs to enjoy different scenery. This getaway allowed enough room to roam for everyone and there were a lot of great restaurants nearby to pick up food. The pricing is a tad high for San Diego, but worth it for the location. We also had a mini fridge and microwave. I will definitely be coming back with the family. Thank you Bahia Staff for a great stay!

Pros: 1. Great location. Close to Pacific. Great for walking the boardwalk. Many restaurants within walking distance. 2. Room has a great view. Room was clean. Did not notice any musty /moldy smell (as others have reviewed). Room with a kitchen was a major plus! 3. Many amenities of things to do. Boat ride was great! Hanging out on mission Bay. Evening activities created by bahia. Cons: 1. Tough to find anything wrong. If you are picky ...our room wasn't made recently, so some might find it to be out dated (i did not though).

We chose this resort after staying here 10 years ago. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice large rooms with plenty of space and actual glass and ceramic mugs to drink from rather than plastic or styrofoam! only no dishwashing liquid and brush for doing the washing up. Good range of facilities, very large pool and hot tub. Quiet scenic position on Mission Bay. Rooms are starting to look dated but space, amenities and cleanliness make up for this. Car parks are small and a bit difficult to traverse entrance area when cars parked at entrance.

It's been 65 years since I last stayed at the Bahia as a child & it has only gotten much better, You won't regret staying there. We actually got upgraded to a bay view double queen studio with a kitchenette. The room was huge and recently upgraded.
