              Luxurious Living on the shore.”

Huge, beautiful rooms. Bathrooms as large as some hotel rooms. Excellent swimming pools. Tasty food. Great complimentary breakfast.

Bahura Resort is the nicest beach resort I've ever seen. It's located on the beach, at the lower tip of Negros Oriental. It's about a 30 minute drive from Dumaguete. Being a couple, we stayed in their smallest room. This room is at least twice the size of other rooms at the same price. The bed was comfortable, and could easily hold four. There was no downside to this wonderful resort.

              Swimming pools, food and staff

We enjoyed everything, mostly peaceful surroundings! Food was delicious and portions huge. Staff was friendly and helpful. Swimming pool area was perfect! Beach is not good for swimming. It is rocky and there are also sea urchins. Only thing to complain about was hard and uncomfortable bed. Bahura resort is also easy to reach by bus (Ceres 50 pesos/person, 30 min from Dumaguete).

              Great rooms, service, and location”

              service, reef for snorkeling, pools

We had a great time at Bahura. The staff was super friendly, from the welcome drink to having someone give us a ride to the local seaport for free so that we could get a boat to Apo Island. It looks just like the photos. The pools are beautiful, and though the roofs could maybe use a fresh coat of paint, the room was beautiful, especially the bathroom. It's right on the beach, and while we were a little disappointed with the beach at first (more rocks than sand on the shore, and the water isn't the beautiful blue that it is at Apo Island), when we went snorkeling at the house reef right in front of Bahura it was amazing so that made up for it. The snorkeling in the house reef wasn't as good as the marine reserve at Apo Island, but it was still really nice with lots of varieties of coral and aquatic life. A lot better than I was expecting. They also let us use the snorkeling equipment without any rental charge. Breakfasts were included and were great. Meals were more hit and miss, though we never ordered anything that wasn't available, and all the Filipino food that we ordered was great (also enjoyed the spaghetti bolognaise--would advise people not to order the pizza). They will arrange airport transfers for you for PHP 1000 for the car, not per person, which might be a little pricey if it's for one or two people only, but it's about a 40 minute trip. All the staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to assist us without us even asking. I would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at Bahura Resort with my fiance. All members of the staff were very attentive and friendly. Their restaurant food items will give you your money's worth based on the serving size, flavor, and presentation. The ambience of the resort was relaxing. I would definitely go back to Bahura resort.

              Nice Villa & Pool Area

Bahura is a decent resort. Try to get one of the villas, they are large (big bed!), large bathroom and nice living room area. Villa aside, the pools are probably the best feature of the resort. However, the chairs and tables by the pool side could use some upkeep or upgrading. Poor lounge chairs make lying by the pool side less ideal. The food is OK and average priced, though you can find better food in the Dumaguete main center (try Why Not!? and Hayahay restaurants). I suggest not booking tours or boats to Apo Island from the resort - they were priced more than double than the deal we eventually made outside the resort. The massages were quite pricey too. Service was OK and the staff were very nice. Overall, we would go back to Bahura - though the resort could be better with just a little upgrade and refurbishing, and maybe more competitive prices for other services - such as boat rides and massages.

              Pool, big villas, restaurant

we spent 3 nights at bahura and had a great time. the staff was very friendly. the girl at the front desk even helped call taxis after i told her i lost my camera in one. it's a schlep from dumaguete so don't plan to go back and forth from town a lot. it's great to relax by the pool. we spent most of our time doing that and a padi open water referral course. mary hope from the scuba office was helpful in arranging everything which ended up being very reasonable. though the hotel was fully booked, it was still very quiet since there is so much space on the property. the beach is rocky but great for walking up and down the coast. also good for launching a boat ride to apo island.

The pools and rooms were unbelieveable

I had a great time at Bahura. The pools are as pictured. The rooms were even better than the pictures. The location is a problem for some. As there is not much public transportation, you need to either hire a car and driver, use the Hotel van at 780 pesos a trip, get a tricylce driver to cart u around or use the jeepneys. I did a little of everything. The only other drawback would be that the lower priced rooms are on the third floor an no elevator, which could be a problem for some. And the internet is only available at the main building and the pool area. The food was spotty but the breakfast was great. The staff were wonderful and helpful. I would highly recommend the location

              The Most Beautiful Landscape

Room is spacious, pool is great, and sea is clean and clear, thus it is swimmable if you have aqua shoes though it's not white sand beach. My family really enjoyed swimming there. It is easy to observe diverse marine lives and colorful coral even at snorkeling level. In the aspect of landscape, this resort is the best one among others I've visited so far. Further, I can't understand other reviewers who have compalined about food because most menu was above average level, and the entire menu was available during my stay for five days. Room is also clean, spacious, and equipped with the biggest bed I've ever seen. However, it seemed much older than I expected based on the worst review. I couldn't sleep well at the first day due to terrible noise from A/C. Water pressure both of toilet and shower was not enough. Overall, room condition was just acceptable level. All the staffs were kind and friendly. Though staffs were not highly professional (It means that they were not like hoteliers working in five stars hotel in huge metropolitans.), they served us with warm smile and dignity. I'll definitely recommend this resort to everybody who plans to go to Dumaguete or Dauin.

              Confortable room

Bahura is located in Dauin, around 30 mins from the Dumaguete city. If you want a quiet, peaceful and relaxing holiday, this is a place to be. It is a beautiful resort, beach front (don't expect much from the beach thou, not white fine sand). Delicious food, a bit pricey. If you want to go to the city, you can take 30 mins bus ride.

Big, comfy room and bed even for the basic deluxe room, well-maintained facilities and surroundings

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Bahura resort. I got sick on the third day of our stay and was just too happy to be getting well in the confines of our big and comfortable room. The dive shop provides all your diving needs. But if you are a non-diver the 2 pools will surely give you the "out there" in the water feel. The food from the kitchen is fresh and cooked- to-order all the time but inconsistent - sometimes very good and sometimes just good. But overall we enjoyed eating the breakfast and local dishes. We would definitely recommend Bahura to our family and friends.

Comfortable, Nice swimming pool, A bit far away”

Breakfast was good, swimming pool was nice but leaves should be removed, the marine sanctuary for snorkelling was nice with many varieties of marine creatures

Our stay at Bahura was mostly good. The room was comfortable and I liked the bathroom which was unusually big. However, the water pressure in my room was very low with only three jets of water. This made shower time a tad inconvenient. The swimming pool was nice and big but the there were a number of fallen leaves in the pool. Breakfast menu was good but when we had lunch at the Resort another time, the food was not tasty and not to our liking. While Bahura call themselves a SPA resort, they don't even have a masseuse that was in-house. We had to wait an hour for the masseuse to travel from Dumaguete City. And in the end, she was so late, we had to cancel the service. While the resort is located about 45 mins away from the Dumaguete City, commuting via public transport was fairly easy. It would be good if the hotel can provide a free shuttle to and from the city (say, every two hours).

We were greeted by staff on our arrival and given a lovely drink in a coconut shell, even though we landed at 7am checking in early was no problem. we loved staying here even though it was a little way out from Dumaguete, we spent our days visiting relatives and came back to the resort each afternoon where we just swam and enjoyed the peace, food was of a very good standard and everything was very fresh, again no toothbrush, tissue or hairdryer. Very good bus service from the resort to Dumagute for just 27 pesos, air conditioning on the bus was a little too strong. We were sorry to leave and would have loved to spend more time at the resort.

The best things about this hotel are the pool which is expansive, the food, and the coconut plantation setting. The grounds are spacious and gorgeous!

Our stay at Bahura was short.....but sweet. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Already looking forward to our next visit soon. We considered and looked at several other resorts nearby before deciding on Bahura. Most were better suited for divers or in a cramped setting. For us, Bahura is more of a resort and offers good amenity value for landlubbers. Translated that means my wife enjoyed a good massage. Ha ha! They say a happy wife makes a happy life......yes.

Occupied 3 rooms to treat my family to a holiday. Highlight of our holiday was Apo Island but all the young and grown up kids enjoyed staying at Bahura and swam until sunset at their picture perfect pools. We enjoyed our a la carte dinner at the restaurant as well as the varied sets of complimentary breakfast. Although we had our own our van as we traveled from Bacolod City, it would have been easy to arrange transport if needed. Will definitely stay again if going to Apo Island.

Amazing relaxing pool with many areas to play/swim/ lounge in! The beach is rough but you can borrow aqua shoes from the hotels diving center and go swimming and snorkeling. The hotel has free wifi in the restaurant area, the food was very good, very wide ranged menu at great philippine prices, ranging from typical philippino food to pizza and pasta. The resort is located right on the beach with large gardens/coconut groves. The rooms are quite large and spacious

The resort is lovely and the rooms are large but in need of some work. The bathrooms are massive but lack good water pressure and the shower heads are all (we talked to others staying at the same time) blocked by calcium deposits making them perform poorly. They advertise as a dive resort and spa but have no staff on-site. The dive center is poorly equipped, so head next door to Atmopshere Resort for an excellent dive center with a dozen or more on-site dedicated dive staff. The resort will call spa therapists to come from Dumaguete city if you order but that can take in excess of an hour. If you want western quality and are willing to pay, stay next door at Atmosphere. If you are happy with local standards then Bahura is cheaper but you get what you pay for. The staff were very friendly but took no notice of us at the pool for delivery of towels, taking of orders for drinks/food etc. The pools are larger and nicer than Athmosphere but there is no service.
