Holiday ”
We were in Skye for a few days and decided to stay another night but could not get in to hotel we were staying at and this one came up. The room was a good size, had a wee issue with the shower but when we spoke to reception it was fixed immediately. Could not fault the staff, everything Covid secure. Food was excellent. The room was clean apart from an area of the bathroom were it looks like a fan maybe getting installed when the room is upgraded but there were a lot of cobwebs on it. This wound not put us off staying here again.

We visited the hotel for one evening and found the staff to be friendly, the food was great and the rooms and decor of the hotel was of a high standard. Would definitely return for another stay!

Amazing location. Good clean hotel with great view over to Skye & down the sound of Sleat. Dinner needs to be served hit, not warm. Also thought I was back at primary school Dinner Hall & bar. Basic & echoed is not always best..huh?

Very good”
Friendly staff who went the extra mile to make sure our room was comfortable as we had a very young child with us. The furnishings looked nice and antique but unfortunately, being in a hotel room, they perhaps get abused a bit. Nonetheless, it’s quite cosy throughout and the surroundings (Loch Alsh across the road) makes it feel even more comfortable.

Nice hotel, not recent but comfortable”
Comfortable bed, big room front of the sea, good breakfast with wide range of food. The hot water was not working at the beginning , but soon fixed by the staff , door lock was not working properly.

Friendly helpful staff. cleanliness not good dust webs on ceilings, bed not level, no headboard fusty smell in room but you do get a great Scottish breakfast.

Away from the crowds, but so convenient ”
Not a fancy place by any definition, but this hotel provides all the necessities and then some. Seaside views, a location near Kyle of Lochleash where the bridge to Isle of Skye is located, an included breakfast, and a bar/casual restaurant out back.

Ok so it can’t be denied that much of this hotel is a bit dated but what it lacks in modern decor and facilities it more than makes up for with the things that are important. The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. I received a room uograde upon arrival as the hotel was quite quiet - I had booked a single but was given a double. Same went for the friend I was travelling with. The rooms (and hotel in general) was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and far beyond expectations with a great range of cooked options (cooked to order - no food growing stale on the buffet here) as well as an abundance of cold offerings, meat, cheese, pastries etc. The bar / restaurant attached to the hotel is great and this is where things do start getting up to date. A lot of money / effort has been spent here and it really is a very pleasant place to be. All in all I was very happy with my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Really helpful, friendly staff and a great chef make this an excellent place to stay! Even though there was a large tour group in the staff went out of their way to make sure that my needs were catered for. I ate in the bar next door and the food is really good. Lovely breakfasts with a stunning view!

Staff was poorly prepared and informed as well as unable to speak English well enough to communicate”
The food was hot and arrived quickly ... a limited menu, no wine list and only red or white wine - no choices. ( early days??) Dining area and breakfast rooms were very nice, our room had a great view and was cozy - faucet problems in our large bathroom - no phone in the room. Findlay , a very nice Scot, on the front desk , did his best to help. Staff training seems to have been inadequate for the most part. £45 to get a taxi to the ferry ..., bus and taxi service not easily available. Had staff been better prepared and less stressed, the hotel would have seemed like good value. English language proficiency is critical for success of this hotel- it certainly has potential.
