Excellent Extraordinary Food”
Island is clean and serene, the tropical natural world at its finest. Food is extraordinarily excellent and well worth the cost. My only misgiving is that which relates to the price of the food. Why quote me prices as defined by USD and then charge me in Philippine pesos at a "fixed" exchange rate thereby increasing those prices that were originally conveyed? It seems to me that it would be more appropriate to either charge me in USD exactly as originally quoted; or perhaps strictly stick to the definition and use of PHP concerning prices, let the banks/clients process the exchange rates themselves. Nevertheless, that's a minor detail in the grand scheme of things.

Don’t book in advance..”
We booked our stay a few months before our trip - but couldn’t get to the island because of a typhoon. Even though we could not get to the island as the port was closed and boats weren’t running we didn’t get a refund... m not even partially...

True paradise”
We had wonderful time on this remote island, about 1h boat ride from Coron. The hotel is really small which creates intimate atmosphere and the true paradise feeling. The beach space is very well organised, so that each guest can find their own space to relax or join other guests in the open restaurant. We enjoyed especially hammocks and huge sofa from which, in the evening you can watch the sky full of stars. You can also go kayaking or paddling around the island. The staff is exquisite, from the moment they welcome you on the arrival, through guides during the island hoping, ending on the "ground personnel" in the hotel. They try hard to make your stay heavenly and trouble-free. We also really enjoyed the food in the restaurant (one of us is vegetarian, but it was not problem at all, because we informed about that before the arrival). Food was freshly made, well seasoned and tasty, however a bit pricey considering it wasn't anything "premium" (just shrimps, fish and meat).

Marvelous place, huge flaws in the service”
The island is marvelous. Cristal clear water all around the beach. Get to sleep with the sound of waves is more than incredible. Lot of activities. Do not hesitate to go there if you want to rest and enjoy a robinson like island. BUT food quality is more than questionnable. They say : "we serve wonderfull organic meals". As a matter of fact, they only serve rice and pasta at every meal (for 3 days), no desserts, but sliced fruits (as an example half a banana is a common desert). Every meal and breakfast is frugal. Maybe they have had a big problem with the chef ? Or they need to spare ? But the only reason I write this comment is that they write, they take care of food allergies. My wife is coeliac. Two times, they served us food with gluten, while saying : it's free from gluten. Happily, we insist to see the ingredients after tasting... She has been sick. Even if the island is incredible, every guest on the island were unhappy with the food while we were there.

Amazing location, great staff, delicious food but unexpected ‘transfer’ fees from Coron City. ”
Absolutely great location !! The island is surrounded by pristine waters. Only negative point is the lack of transparency on transfer costs which are not included in the room cost. This is not mentioned upfront (although there is no other way to reach the island ) but bear in mind that the transfer fees are equivalent to 5000PHP one way - almost the price of a night stay!

Dear Vincent, Thank you very much for your feedback. Once again I am so sorry for the misunderstanding regarding the price of the boat transfer. Although, I admit it might be a bit confusing on Agoda, but it is not mentioned the transport is included only mentioned we have pick up and drop off service at additional cost. Moreover, as soon as we received your booking we immediately sent you an email explain our transportation cost. The Island is located 28 km far from Coron, we only charge transfer at cost (Fuel, Crew and boat maintenance). To reach the island, you also have the option to rent your own private boat, the cost would certainly be higher. We sincerely apologise for the confusion and misunderstanding and thanks you a lot for your feedback, it will help us to improve our service. Kind Regards, Bamboo Island Team.
A private paradise”
I can't begin to explain the pure joy and bliss Small Bamboo Island provided. I imagine it was an exceptional circumstance which meant we had the whole place to ourselves - it was the start of the rainy season after all, but having Bamboo as our own private island was a bonus beyond words. We stayed in the cliff top bungalow with incredible views of the reef, islands opposite and the sunset. The accommodation was a traditional "hut" made completely of bamboo. You were open to the elements but in dreamy surroundings. It isn't a hotel, you are in traditional accommodation, which we LOVED! Mosquito net made it really dreamy, clean sheets half way through our stay, and clean towels. Be ready for cold showers and sharing them - it's all about an eco-lifestyle! All I can say is your bed will have an amazing view and is super comfy - what else do you need? The staff were fantastic, so helpful and attentive. Delicious food at every meal and lots of drinks to choose from. We will be back! X

Paradisö men dyrt”
Underbar ö men väldigt liten.
