we stayed for one nite, the room was super clean, simple room with no tv,the only downside is its too close to the main street so a bit noisy, everthing else is good

Not worth staying”
Stayed with family for 2 nights. Initially was given one room, but then was asked to shift to another room of upper floor in view of having toilet maintenance. But the second room was not even cleaned yet by the time we reached, need to wait for them to clean. Air cond not functioning well; not cold enough. Located at the side of the road with no proper parking. Can hear loud noises from road. Room was not cleaned during our stay. Otherwise, location strategic, in the middle of town. Overall, not satisfying. Can get better hotel with cheaper price.

Helpful and Cosy”
What a cosy hotel, located right at the main road, which leads to various places to eat from morning till late. When you're in Taiping in less than 48 hours, a hotel with basic amenities like a hot shower, comfortable bed and of course fast wi-Fi will suffice. And Barrack Street Hotel provided me and my daughter just that. In fact, the hotel's generosity left a lasting impression on me and my daughter. A mother and daughter duo travelling in heavy rain, all the help and kindness is welcomed, and thank you to the hotel for their empathy. We will return here whenever we are back to Taiping...

The hotel is in an older building but well maintained. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The AC was good and quiet. The staff was friendly and efficient. The only comment I have is that it is a bit noisy due to the windows...road traffic is audible but stops later in evening. Perhaps new windows (double pane) would eliminate the road noise. Overall an enjoyable stay and I would go again.

Since it located next to busy street, the vehicles' sound can be quite noisy for sensitive ears like mine, but my children or husband was okay. I would definitely comeback for the cleanliness and friendly hotel.

Located not far from everything. The Lake Garden, maxwell hill, some of the best eateries are all well within a very short drive. Friendly , helpful and accommodating staff. Clean room, alhtough the lighting is a bit too dim for me 😅 overall, a comfortable stay.

Recommended only if you do not have other options. Hotel by the road side, parking is not convenient and noisy at night as the rooms are not sound proof. Toilets need to be fixed. Triple deluxe room was just too compact. The only saving grace was staff were helpful.

Good yet noisy location”
Location: Near Lake Garden, accessible to many F&B outlets. Unfortunately it is located at a road that many vehicles use, thus noisy. If you are a light sleeper like me, you would not like it. Staff: Friendly and helpful. The staffs would proactively offer suggestions that could make your trip a little more convenient. Kudos! Environment: Quite clean. There is no elevator. If you have heavy luggages, you may have to engage the staff to help carry them to your room. Room: Amenities are simple and sufficient. Clean bedsheets and towels. The water heater is not working well. Water pressure is satisfactory. Room size is small, no proper table if you need to work on a computer. Pricing: I paid RM137.00 for a night. Not too expensive but comparing to the average price in town, it is considered a little pricey. General: I am a light sleeper, I may not return to this hotel unless they solve the noise problem (from the cars and loud motorcycle).
