"What an absolute gem of a hotel. Probs the best boutique hotel in Australia. Value for money. Bed was so comfy I didn't want to get out of it. All the mod cons in the room with an awesome picture window. Pod machine, stocked mini bar. Great library and bar area. Parking free if you checkout by the time, otherwise $12 undercover parking in the same building, very easy. Check in staff are brilliant and helpful. The only thing they do need to do is have a restaurant on site and room service. You can get Ubereats or take away ordered and the Concierge let you know when it has arrived. This is my hotel now when in Canberra. Highly recommend."

"The hotel is right across my office. It's an old 2-storey hotel in the quiet and peaceful suburb of Barton and is undergoing renovation. The room we were given had not yet been renovated and so was old and worn out. It had an old bathroom with a stained toilet bowl and a shower head that let out a sharp and wide spray of water, far from ideal. I saw some cobwebs in the bathroom and the bedroom ceiling. Amenities were sparse and the closet was very small. For some reason, the small refrigerator was on the floor instead of the usual cabinet that was meant to house it. The best thing about the accommodation was the big room, the free wifi, quiet surroundings and the efficient and friendly check in/out"

"I was indeed surprised by the 10 star Service I received when I arrived at the Hotel. Did I mention 10 Star ? I don't think I have ever been treated like Royalty when arriving at any location worldwide. I was greeted by the porter who unpacked the car, and had organised things in the room by the time we arrived, including little welcoming luxuries. Carlos and his Staff on the front Desk were beyond comment, I cannot quiet describe the level of service, friendly and welcoming manner to which we were attended to. We also received an upgrade to the executive floor without even asking. During our short stay, Nothing was too much trouble and every request or question was answered and attended to immediately. My next visit to Canberra, I will definatly be staying at the Hotel Realm without question. Many Many thanks to Carlos and his Wonderful Staff... A vacation to remember"

"Brassey Hotel was definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. What they lacked in facilities, they made up for in wonderful service. Pros: -hotel is located in Barton so within 20 mins walking distance to sights like the Old Parliament House, Australian Parliament, Manuka Shopping District, Canberra Glassworks, and Old Bus Depot Markets. - the bed is THE MOST comfortable bed I have ever been on in a hotel. Not too soft, not too hard. Same goes for the pillows - staff are very nice and polite. (Would like to give a particular shoutout to Eden who helped us out on our first evening regarding our airconditioning) - hotel is very picturesque and if you're into old school stuff, the Brassey Hotel is definitely for you as it's a heritage hotel dating back from 1927. - the free to use coffee machine in their reception area was a hit for my husband and I. Very appealing as it is winter so there'a nothing like walking out in the cold abyss with a nice hot cuppa. CONS: - hotel is old as mentioned earlier hence our airconditioning was giving us problems during our first and last night. During the first night it was locked into heating and it kept turning on and off to which Eden provided us with a fan and put the airconditoning on Cool as well as provided ua with another blanket in case we get too cold. On our last night, the airconditioning just didnt work the entire evening but as it's winter, it didnt bother us as much as we had a fan and it was still pretty cool - not much amenities in the rooms. Only one teaspoon is provided for your tea or coffee but I suppose it's due to the free for use coffee machine in the reception - no hotel slippers are provided - no in house room service. You need to call from the restaurants in the sister hotels or just order from UberEats or Deliveroo Overall definitely an 8/10 for us because the cons were pretty minor for us l. Will most definitely recommend to friends and family and will be very likely to stay here again"
