Great Value for Your Stay”
Definitely a highlight from my trip. We booked the 2 person private onsen and it was so relaxing with a great view of the bamboos. Our stay included free dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. There were a lot of different types of food I could try. My only complaint was that the sashimi was definitely not as fresh as I have had in Japan but there were other foods that filled me up. The Japanese style room was a neat experience, the futon was the most comfortable bed I've stayed on all trip and the comforter was so fluffy. Wearing the yukata around the inn was also super cool. To get here I just hopped on the bus from Odawara and it took me there in about 45min. Definitely enjoyed my stay and recommend this hotel!

The hospitality was first class from the person waiting outside the ryokan to greet me and take me to my room and dress me in a yukata and prepare tea with a sweet. They also went the extra mile to locate and post a necklace I’d misplaced to my next address in Tokyo. Lots of great sights to see on the way up from Hakone Yumoto station, lots of local places to eat nearby and the private and communal Onsen was really great for relaxing in. If you are an Onsen first-timer you can book a private Onsen or get up early before 7 and maybe have the bigger communal Onsen to yourself if you are shy. Very comfortable and stylish room. I could have stayed a second night but if you only have one night to spend in the Hakone region then this place is fabulous..

One of my best experiences in Japan”
I wasn't able to try their food but the japanese style room was fantastic, it made me feel like staying in a traditional Japanese house especially with the yukata kimono that they provide for each guest. The other best thing was the onsen or the public bath. It is very clean every time that I tried it (4 times overall in two and a half days stay), and it's always open except 10-10:30am, means you can go to onsen in the middle of the night and enjoy the hot water in the cold weather when everyone else is sleeping. The service of the ryokan was very on point as well, they provided us with anything we needed such as room service, towels, umbrella, direction to places in hakone or nearby restaurants and etc. Very highly recommend this place.

Very enjoyable stay!!”
The staff was friendly and very helpful answering any questions I had. They spoke good English and helped me coordinate bus ride times. The food was amazing! It wasn't the traditional ryokan where you stay in someone's house but the food was very similar. You get robes in each room like a ryokan so that was good enough for me. Location is very close to a bus stop but further away from majority of the tourist places in Hakone. The room and amenities were very clean. Only stayed a night here so I wish I stayed longer!!

Lovely Affordable Ryokan/Onsen experience”
It's a long way from Odawara Station to Mount View but one bus will take you the whole way! Get off at Sengokuhara Cultural Center and it's literally right there in front of you. Check-in was easy with English speaking clerk and staff who took our bags up to our room and showed us around the more traditional and spacious room (tatami mats, bedding that was set up while we were at dinner). We paid extra for dinner which was a huge kaiseki (multi-course) style and there was no problem accommodating my partner's seafood allergy with plenty to eat AND dessert. Additionally, the onsen are rent by the hour and a really neat experience to do in the cold of a February night. The outside bamboo are lit up beautifully and a lovely scene as you relax into softer skin. There are vending machines and a gift shop downstairs as well. Staff were so friendly and helpful especially when our American hips didn't fit easily in provided yukata we were brought a bigger size (sorry!!).

A Crown Jewel Ryokan”
This hotel is a Ryokan, but a design is mix between eastern and western. This place is among with natural and quiet area. A restaurant nearby can ask for a map with front- staff. But if you have no idea with any restaurant, you can try a hotel's cuisine "Kaiseki" (a full-course of cuisine in japanese style). A staff is very nice, good service, and communicate with English. I didn't try a cuisine but some of people reccomend about it (maybe next time when I come back, I'll try some). Room size is so wide for 4 people and have a toilet inside (but bathroom is a public bath in Onsen). Onsen was seperate to be a public, family, and private. A public Onsen capacity with 7-10 people in time, and it's a natural hot spring. For anyone who did't use a car, don't worry cause in front of the hotel have a bus stop. I'm very appreciate in this hotel and recommended.

Amazing Ryokan Experience”
This was the cheapest ryokan we found. It was extremely clean and use of the public baths was so nice. It was so relaxing and nice. The staff came and converted the room into sleeping mode and was so quick and professional. It was so nice sitting there drinking tea late into the night, playing ping pong downstairs and relaxing in a hot bath under the stars. There is also a Lawsons super close by if you don't want to pay for the expensive dinner too!

During booking, we are not sure of what type of dinner and breakfast will be provided by hotel and whether the food will be served to room. We checked with hotel by email, and received the image of dinner and breakfast, it seems not so attractive. Hence, we only reserved dinner for 3 person. In fact, the dinner are much better than the image sent to us. It is regretyed that we are unable to add dinner any more. It will be great if the dinner have menu and can be served in room. The front desk service are excellent, friendly and helpful. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and hope to visit again.

Great Stay”
Wife and I wanted to stay at a Ryokan at least once and it was great! The dinner and breakfast were pretty good as well. If you have big tattoos and wear the yukata, you'll probably have to wear a long sleeve under it to cover it up. The onsen was great! We got into Hakone a couple hours earlier than we thought, so we dropped our bags off and reserved the Kaguya onsen for ourselves since I have tattoos and it was perfect. The only things I wish it had was a clock or something outside near the onsen itself so we could keep watch of our time in the tub instead of getting out to see the one in the changing room.

Great hotel”
Getting to here wasn't easy because of the typhoon that happened few weeks back and caused a landslide so some bus stations were closed. The service is beyond amazing and the dinner and breakfast was kaiseki. I booked one person room that only had a toilet attached. Shower are divided by gender. i was in the female onsen area, which means you will experience culture shock if you are not comfortable being naked with other people.

Fantastic Japanese experience”
First trip to Japan. We saw this place on a blog and thought we would give it a go. What an experience for our first onsen ryokan after 3 days in the hustle of Yokyo. Everything was perfect and much more than I expected. The food, the onsen, the bedroom, the quietness and relaxing atmosphere, outstanding. For those who want a great Japanese experience, this is the place to go. For those reviewers who criticise this place for exactly what it is trying to offer, please get a life ! I wish I could review them.

Clean place & accommodating staff”
It was a great ryokan experience. Staff were very accommodating to the point that they gave us a map where we could eat dinner since we did not reserve a spot for the “kaiseki” meal. They made sure that we get everything we need and know the necessary info about the hotel. They even called me the day before our check in to confirm something. The room was wide for 3 people. It was neat and clean. I wanted to stay there longer but I had limited time back then. The location was great. It was peaceful. There’s also grocery store and convenience stores nearby. This is my first experience staying in a hotel in Japan. Now, Mount View Ryokan is my standard every time I stay in a Japanese style hotel. ;)

Exactly what I want in Hakone!”
Even though it is the most expensive hotel I've ever lived, but it is of course worth the money! Friendly stuffs, well maintained facilities, really relaxing natural outdoor spa pools, and really really excellent foods even beyond my imagination! The bus stop is just in front of the hotel, very convenient to go to Tokyo. If you only stay one night in,Hakone and wanna relaxing, it is your best choice to stay!

A perfect honeymoon”
Staff were extremely attentive and lovely, food was incredible, it was in a traditional Japanese style, the rooms were also traditional and were very comfortable, we also used the onsen which was great and very relaxing.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and it was perfect. The room was clean and traditional, just how we imagined. The hot spring was romantic and the meals exceeded our expectations.

Great food, great spa, excellent and quiet location”
The only downside to this hotel is the 50 mins bus ride needed to get from Odawara station. The hotel itself is perfect. The dinner and breakfast were great, both the food and the service. It is just next to a bus station and 5 min walk away from the Sengoku junction, where you can catch a direct bus to Gotemba Outlets. The staff speak good English and Mandarin. The private bath is nice, and you can book a message service too, even late at night -- perfect after a long trip to get there. If you did not include board in your booking, there are plenty of fine dinner places around. I suspect good breakfast is harder find. But there is a Lawson convenience store and a large supermarkets within 5 mins walk away, so in general food should not be a problem.
