1st thing of all. The hostel was about a 10 minutes walk from the closest Minamikata Station. There were conbinis on the way to the hostel and also there a 24 hrs restaurant nearby also. The park in front of the hostel was so nice and peaceful which was a big plus for me. I took a walk almost every morning before heading for breakfast. As for the hostel. Cleanliness was spot on. Toilet and bathroom (Shared) was clean and remember to bring own towel cos it was a hostel. To me it was value for money and I really enjoyed my week stay here. As for the staffs. Service in Japan was usually FANTASTIC and so this area you should already know my answer. Thanks for the great memories and for those who always like to compare hotels to hostels. Please take note.. this is a hostel and for a hostel. It was really really fantastic. Highly recommended.

It seems that great people gather at that place. Good ratio of Japanese and non-Japanese guests. Easy to make friends. :) Staffs have great hospitality too. I really enjoyed my stay there. Definitely will come back when I visit Osaka again. :)

cute guest house! room was big and had privacy curtain. host was friendly and even had some watermelon they shared with guests that night. i will come back again.

Cute little place 20 minutes away by foot from Shin Osaka station. Staff were super friendly! Offered me and a friend watermelon. Beds were comfortable too and had privacy curtains. Had a nice kitchen if you wanted to prepare your own foods as well as a laundry and an area to hang your clothes. Will come again if I'm in Osaka again.

A very DIY hotel”
Due to flight delays I checked in after 11pm and found myself a love letter taped to the door bearing the instructions to my check-in. I was there for about 7 hours total and I must say that it was quite sufficient to my needs. It was very neer the subway station so I did not have any problems dragging my luggage around.

so good, as I was going to ibaraki for the church of light, and kobe for the museum, convenient, close to umeda and Osaka and shin Osaka station. Very good!! Very nice staff. Will come back.

Good Location but Lack of Toilet/Bathroom”
Hotel location are only 3-5 Mins walk from subway station. Their staff are very friendly. but only problem of this hotel is they have not enough (share) toilet and Bath room for guest. (only 1 toilet and 1 Bathroom per floor)

I think I have a very pleasant stay in Osaka Tomato Hostel. However, I think the hotel need to improve in the following aspects. The direct sign to the check-in bar is not clear. The arrow is towards up, which means go straight. However ,it is very easy to misunderstand as go upstairs, especially the position of the sign is right on the stairs. It will be better if the hotel can provide a shelf to leave the shoes when the customer get in the hotel. Although it may be safe in the hotel, it would be better if the hotel can provide a locker. The time schedule is different for the customers in the mix-room. It would be better if the hotel can provide shelf for every bed, instead of only for the below beds. Also, it would be better if one can access to the electricity on his own bed. What's more, one may have his own small light in his own bed since it would be better to turn the large light off during the midnight. The kitchen is useless in my opinion. The travelers have no time to cook for themselves. A micro-wave machine may be better for this kind of hotel. All in all, I put the comments here because I like this hotel and I want it to be better. However, some aspects may be conflict with the orientation of this hotel. In that case, please forget about my comments. I will stay in this hotel again when I will go to Osaka.

Unhelpful staff and no tourist info ”
Written instructions on how to get there would have been useful. Arrival was ok but 2nd member of staff was useless! I had to wake him up and when I asked him about places to visit he said they were in Kyoto but they were in osaka. No help or advice how to get there or location. No tourist info whatsoever ! Only good thing I have to say is thatbit was clean. Poor location, no atmosphere, and to be honest not many people there. I wouldn't stay there again.
