Rude staff”

The lady that checked me in was so rude I would have cancelled if I hadn't already paid up front..she rolled her eyes at me at least 4 times, kept saying g this wasn't her job and was throwing things around.....she was rude to the family checking in before me too....she needs to either get trained on being nice or get fired...

the hot tub and sauna were not working. hallway carpets are stained and old but biggest drawback was we were refused extra towels. only 2 bath towels allowed for 2 people and was told we had to trade them in to get another towel. Some staff was very friendly others were not

Wouldn't stay here again ”

While the price was pretty cheap, I wouldn't stay at this hotel or recommend it to anyone. I called the night before to see if we could check in early, the lady on the phone told me to call back around 10 in the morning. So I called at 10; she said call back at 12. By 12 we were at the hotel so we walked in to ask if we could check in. The lady at the front desk said we could in "an hour." We came back in an hour (after buying Cold groceries.) only to hear that we couldn't check in until three! The floors were gross, I'm not sure they vacuum. The elevators were just as gross as well. At one point they ran out of towels. We only stayed 3 nights! We plan to visit Gulf Shores again, but will definitely be booking a different hotel.

The hotel was remodeling. Was a nice hotel friendly staff. Bathrooms smelled like cigarette smoke, 4 ppl in a room need more than just 3 towels, water pressure sucked. The pool in the picture is not the one they have. Not bad may get better with time.

The second night we were there at 3:30 in the morning the fire alarm siren went off because desk clerk burnt popcorn that made everybody wake up and walk out the building fearing for their life !!! No telephone in every room. I should be entitled 2 remboursement !!

Not happy with the hotel”

Unpacked a car full of items for a 5 day stay on the beach only to discover that the key pad did not work. Was told my options were to 1. Go to the front and have the hotel staff let us in every time we returned to our room or 2. Repack and move all of our baggage etc to another room. Because of the extended stay I opted to move rooms, which I was of course not happy about after the drive there and unloading and putting away 5 days of vacation items. Room 1 also had a mildew odor and the refrigerator was not cold. Room 2 had a better smell but did not have a refrigerator so one was moved into our room (which froze our drinks) but instead of placing the refrigerator in its designated spot, it was placed on the floor by the air conditioner!? At least the key worked... Things seemed a little better except the fire alarm went off a few times while we were there, men were working on some of the rooms so we were awakened by hammers and saws. The air conditioner was making the carpet below it wet. The jacquzzi did not work the entire time we were there. Overall I am definitely not happy with my stay. I am a single mother of 2 daughters and cannot afford to stay in an expensive hotel but staying at a place like this on the one vacation a year that I can afford was very dissappointing. The hotel also would not give me any discount for all the problems that we encountered during our stay. As I mentioned renovations seemed to be going on during our stay but I definitely would not stay there again unless huge changes are made inside and out.. The only pleasant thing I can say regarding this hotel is one employee named Jessica that tried her best to make things right despite the conditions of the hotel.

The place was ideal for our purpose to have a good place to stay with a good bed and shower as we were at the coast not to be a beach bum but to go fishing in the gulf .The place served us well and was located near the fishing docs but not on the beach ,had all the good resturants within 3 miles.Only negative was that they are changing over from the previous owner and had a few glitches in their door key locks and such ,but it was handled very well by the staff.

Horrible experience ”

Our room had no phone, the tv did not work. We were moved to another room and the key did not work in that room.we had no fridge or microwave, after being told we would have these amenities. No towels or toilet paper, the products in the room were expired. There was a lot of commotion in the hallways during the night therefore we did not rest well at all.the hot tub did not work.the pool was cold and dirty..the staff tried to be helpful but were clues less as to how they would help us..I will never stay here again!!HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

HORRIBLE experience!”

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. First the bed broke within minutes of us being there and we were forced to switch rooms. Then our new room didn't have a microwave or fridge, so they had to bring them in from our old room. Then our fridge breaks, and when we speak with the front desk the lady was very rude and told us it was "not her problem". Our microwave also stopped working, so we just used the one in the common room. Our room was only serviced when we asked and we had to reuse our towels, and go ask for new ones when we needed them. Oh and on our last day we found a large live cockroach in our bathroom. The hot tub was also not working, and I couldn't even get an iron. Some of the staff was nice, and the manager understood our frustrations but didn't even apologize.

First room had spiders in the bed and the next room the beds looked clean. The floors were awful The hotel stunk! Even though it said none smoking it smelled like smoke in the halls. The elevator broke the pool was like ice and the hot tub was broke along with the sauna. The breakfast is cereal and bagels. Shower and sink was broke and the power went out while in the shower! Over all very bad experience!! Will never stay here again!!

Our stay at the magnuson inn and suites was great! The staff was very friendly and professional! Our room was very clean as was the entire building! The location was absolutely perfect, very close to the beach and close to many attractions. We will definitely stay there again!

Do not stay here it is not worth the money ”

TERRIBLE. Came to gulf shores for spring break and it was a mistake. We stayed for three nights and had no hot water. Not for the showers or the sink. All the outlets were broke in the room. The bedding had stains and holes in them. We saw two mice running around the stairwell. The breakfast consisted of old bread and bagels and packaged oatmeal that's all. The staff is rude and not helpful or welcoming at all. Also there was no cleaning service, had to always ask for new towels. This was a terrible stay and do not recommend anyone to stay here for the price.

the room was horrible. dirty sheets. electrical issues. lights and tv did not work. wires hanging out of the wall. no smoke alarm or AC. mold and dirt everywhere. room not painted. AC blowing dust and mold but not cold air. AND interior door handled didnt work. couldnt get out of room. unable to get refund. was given a new room for 2nd night stay that was slightly better only bc door opened and it had AC still dirty and smelled bad. very unhappy and still attempting to be compensated.

Rude and dirty ”

The woman at the front desk was rude and could not be bothered. The rooms were clean but were missing lightbulb, had scuffs on the furniture and open electrical wires coming from holes in the walls. The fire alarm also went off with no apology. Free breakfast? No. Leaking patches on the ceilings? Yes.
