We booked a balcony studio at the Blubay for 4 nights. When we arrived at 9pm we were sent to Fleet Apartments which is in a diifferent road and is a totally different property in terms of facility. The rooms are really dated and basic, not at all like the photos of the Blubay. We went back to reception as we refused to stay in the room and after we complained we were sent to the Bayview Hotel which is the HQ for this company. The room we were given had a very small window that looked on to a wall, the room was so damp medication got ruined, there was no fridge and a very small bathroom. We complained the next monring and for the rest of the booking we were given a studio in Blubay. In this room the a/c heater was not working so on the second day we were given an electric fire. The reception staff and manager were helpful and we did get a room change to the Blubay , however, the Fleet is not shown on Agoda as a property and it does not seem accceptable that guests should be allocated a room here when they book the Blubay

I had booked an apartment with a kitchen for me to cook and this way save some money on eating outdoors. The flat had less than the minimum facilities to be provided by any hotel: no soap to wash dishes, no sponge, no cloths, no napkins, no cups, only glasses, no kattle. Not enough dishes for cooking. No salt/olive oil/vinagre. The soap in the bathroom was clearly too old and dirty itself. In 5 days they did not even pass a mop, only made the bed and changed the rubbish bags. TV was not working. For the Wifi, the receptionist sent me first to go to the flats which are in a different building than the hotel reception and then come back again for the Wifi password. Seriously? The stuff could be way more polite. In general, I would not recommend it.

Great location in Gzira, Sliema, Malta.”
The Blubay is very centrally located just a short walk from the public Valletta Ferry (cheap) which lands you on the edge of central Valletta with just a short strenuous walk up hill to the main street, "Republic". We were located in an apartment two blocks away from Blubay Hotel. The apartment was on the fourth (top) floor with three balconies and no views other than roof tops, it had lift access and had two bedrooms and a kitchen/sitting area with everything necessary to prepare meals and with a table and chairs and also a lounge suite, air conditioning and TV. And a good sized fridge. Airconditioners in the bedrooms worked well but the one in the common area seemed to be stuck on heating we turned it off the bedroom ones were sufficient. The apartment was serviced daily. It wasn't an overly attractive place to stay, it needed some upgrades and was very dimly lit but suited our needs.

Could not fault the staff at Blubay apartments. However we we're all split up as a group and unfortunately one group staying in another apartment block was disturbed every morning with building work going on with the noise so loud they had to leave their apartments every morning.

my problem”
I was putting on the same floor with students from Germany. They were chatting in the hall way every night. They were staying there for 2 months. I did complain to the hotel and one guy was helpful and talked to kids for me, but other guys were saying I should come back to him if kids are still noisy after midnight. I paid the same money that they paid. why did I need to put up with it? and, if hotel already know I will be on the same floor with bunch of kids, am I going to have a problem sleeping on the same floor?? but they still put me (single) to it and did not give me new room. I will never stay here again. it is too bad. Hotel was nice and much cheaper than staying in Sliema hotel. but that means other group of students will staying with you and you will not have good night sleep.

Apartment felt huge with high ceilings and large shower. Would book again. Negatives would be the balcony door latch has fallen apart and you couldn't lock it. The checkin process was a bit shambolic.

I never hated a hotel room as much as I have with this hotel. I'm probably being high maintenance for some people but here is my opinion. As soon as we got the key cards you could tell that it wasn't going to be great because the key cards have been worn out. At first glance the room seems nice and looks just like the pictures. But looking closer the room looks a bit run down. The bed was two twin size beds that were constantly separating from each other and the backboard which is obnoxious. I had to put my shoes under the bed poles so the beds would stop separating. The linens provided were terrible. Just a thin brown blanket that clearly need to be replaced. The pillows definitely needed to replaced as well. I hated that the whole room and hallway was tile because I could hear everything from the room above me to the hallway outside the room. The room is not expensive but in malta you can definitely pay a little bit more for something a lot better.

Clean but needs improvement”
First impression of the hotel is good. The staff is mixed between nice and smiley and those you don't really wanna ask anything. We were on the 5th flow where the swimming pool is, but we never used it. We had studio apartment which was clean and that is the best advantage. The shower was leaking A LOT so we had to use one of the towels. The cleaner was average, first time she didn't really do anything just took the towel that was on the flow because of the leaking and didn't leave the new one, second they made up the bed and cleaned the plates that we used. The wifi is not working at all, we asked the reception for that and for the towel and the woman politely said that someone will come to check that out. The guy brought the towel, checked the shower and wifi, but as it needs improvement there is nothing he could do. He showed us that his wifi connection is good. We tried later on in reception and it wasn't working. Overall- cheap, clean and good if you are looking for cheap break.

I can only comment on Studio Apartment because in such we were staying. Room was not renovated in a long time. There was mold on the walls both in the room and in the bathroom. Room has only one window (balcony) to the small atrium so if you have curtains opened everyone could see inside your of your room. Hotel have very thin walls so you can hear every noise. Hotel is separated in few buildings, if you want to talk with someone from reception you have to walk few streets. During our stay there was a mistake and someone was assigned to our room and get access to it - fortunately we were in the room when the he enters it. + good location, close to bus stop, port and restaurants + cleaning ladies done their job well

We requested a. Airport pick up but got no response to the request. So got a taxi from airport. At reception they said they had sent a taxi and he was at airport little it annoying. Then we were told at reception that our room was in another building and he had to find someone to take us. So after paying fir a taxi to take us up to main reception we then had to carry our luggage for a 10 min walk up hill unassisted to our room. The 1 bed apt was large and spacious but a bit sterile. No washing g up detergent or cloths No complimentary shampoo or conditioner. No staff at reception at the mahoni building to ask fir help or directions. The pool was at another building on the harbour Get there early and u will have a choice of sun beds. Great view and pool

A budget hotel in a great location”
This is a budget hotel (still pretty pricey in my opinion), so you shouldn't expect more than that. The AC makes a lot of noise...you can't really sleep if it is turned on. Don't expect to have a nice view from the room. The pool is very small. The location is pretty good; there are restaurants, cafes and bus stations nearby. There are also free parking spots on each side of the street. Overall, if you don't have very high expectations, this hotel will suit your needs.

Quite clean,good location,spacious apartament and good staff. But hotel do not have respect overall to clients- they rent out hotels restaurant which is on the ground floor and there is a very loud music, screaming, very noisy clop.Our neighbors was dissatisfied too, of course.When I went with complain in reception the staff informed my at there is party and they will inform manager about complain.They did not do anything for interrupt that hell. The noise lasts til about 23 o clock.If such kind of activityies are supportet from managers side, it means at that is hotels policy,position - total disrespect to clients.That is why I do not advice Blybau hotel.

Different than expected, rooms are differnt in the pictures als we experienced”
We got a room in a buiding situated in the street W. Reid. The room was big, but the equipment not as good quality as the pictures suggest. In the other rooms were big groups of people that were very noisy until late in the night. I never had the feeling that I am in an Appartement, it was like student (workers) night shelter.
