Hidden gem ”
such a pleasure, we missed the Accomodations when staying in el nido Pros: Clean- spotless, beautiful huts with balcony overlooking garden and ocean Comfortable- our bed was quite large and extremely comfortable CHEAP! Extremely affordable at only 350p per night, with 90p delicious fried rice with egg Quiet- it's off the beaten path and really nice and quiet at night. All you can hear is the ocean and cicadas humming Cons: that there wasn't more people staying there! Unfortunately due to negative reviews (apparentlyonly complainers leave reviews), it seems there's been less visitors. It's in the jungle. And on the beach. It's more than affordable. If you want zero bugs, full aircon, and swarms of loud tourists, stay in the cement prison down the road for 10,000p/night and don't enjoy the beautiful bamboo bungalows at bamboo. Your choice.

How to recharge your mind/body ”
The hospitality of the owner is the best !! My flight was cancel so I arrive one day later, they totally understood and roll over my booking. Once arrive (after a small walk alone the sea from the center) I straight away feelt like welcoming by a friend !! During that day I was feeling little bit sick and the owner check on me all day, bring me some food, offer me to go to the pharmacy ... yes you will not have the WiFi, yes the electricity is on a generator so stop at 10pm, yes the water is limited, yes the cottage are really simple. In parallel of all of that you will have an superb view on the sea and garden, you will be in the calm of the forest, my cottage and bed was clean. I seriously recommend this place, I was feeling in peace there ! I also recommend you to have some food, he is a really good chef and if you are interstellar about cooking, he will be happy to show you some Philippino speciality! Thank you again for your hospitality 👌

Basic accommodation but glorious views! ”
If you brave the 500 metre trek up a rocky and muddy path (see note below) and forgo such frivolities as flush toilets and electric fans (or even electricity apart from a few hours of noisy generation each evening) you will be rewarded with one of the finest sea and mountain views in the Philippines! Note: The resort had a tricycle, but responses to communication were haphazard. If you haven't been able get an assurance of a pick up, and you arrive late you will struggle to find a tricycle and you may wish to leave luggage in the adjacent restaurant and go and get assistance - you can't miss Blue Bamboo if you follow the beach south from the pier. Strong footwear and flashlight advised. Room tip - best views are from the highest cottage for obvious reasons but only for the fit! The end cottages on the lower row are nearly as good. The big beach front cottage used to be favorite but its increasing age and the new higher fence and abandoned beach cottage in front, are negatives.

Stayed September 10-11,2016”
Their new generator did not arrived on time when we stayed there. We plan to transfer to other hostel nearby but the owner transferred us to a nice room and nice scenic view cottage. My sister and I had a candle dinner. Stay place to stay when your in Sabang specially if your a backpackers and what to explore more about the place

friendly staff and cute nipa huts!”
My stay at this cottage was quite nice! The place is very clean and it is at the end of beach area walking to this place is unpaved and dirt road. But it is a good place after or before u are about to do the underground river if u want to save money. It is your typical nipa hut but it is kept clean but not a modernized hut. They provide sheets and towel but in general you should always bring your own sheet and towel just Incase. You are surrounded by trees and local people who are very kind so u get the native feel. The restaurant they have is also quite good. I suggest ordering the yellow curry and pancit bihon. They also have wifi at the restaurant. The place is owned by a Filipina and German couple and they are very friendly and gave advices of what's reasonable prices for means of transportation to other cities (so we don't get totally ripped off when it comes to bargaining).

You get what you pay for, but reall needs work”
Blue Bamboo has quite a bit of potential which isn't being fully achieved. The cottages are in a very nice setting (although some people might not like the walk through the village). For the price the rooms are OK, although the beds are too small for tall people like my. However, Blue Bamboo falls down badly in comparison to other budget options in Sabang because of the lack of running water. Most other budget options also had flushing toilets, though again Blue Bamboo is the cheapest we found. However the toilet frankly stank and should at least have been cleaned properly. You really do get what you pay for, but with some investment the owner could perhaps charge a little more while staying within the budget range.

Nice cottages, very good value for money”
We enjoyed our stay there - really good view to the ocean. More remote location from the main city street so it is a calm place. Underground river other tours are 10 minutes away. Cottages have minimum facilities - bed&bathroom with cold water. The staff was nice and helpful, food was ok. There is a nice lounge to chill in the evenings. The only things we missed was full-time electricity and wifi, other than that if you like to sleep a bit in the wild and enjoy it, it's a really lovely place to stay.

Basic, stunning views”
It's a bit further away from the beach, but because the cottages are located on the hillside, the views are amazing. The rooms are basic, but you have everything you need, including a nice terrace. Unofrtunately the showers didn't work while I was staying there.

Very chill.”
We booked for 3 nights but stayed for 5 nights because we loved it so much. It is situated a little bit away from the tourists who come for the underground river tour, so is a beautiful relaxed spot to spend time in. Whilst it is in a secluded spot you will be able to easily walk to this Guest House from where you are dropped off by a van. We stayed in one of the back bungalows and had an awesome view of the ocean from our balcony. The restaurant serves real good, real cheap food, so we ate all our food here. The restaurant also has a real relaxed vibe so most enjoyable to spend almost all day in it. And from the restaurant you also have an uninterrupted view of the ocean. The resort is only 20 metres from the sea-shore and has massive old-growth forest around it. It only has electricity from 6pm-10pm and the rooms are basic. But I loved it. Great value, great spot to relax at. One of my all time favourite places to stay at.

Excellent”
Dean (the manager) was most helpful. He made is feel like we were home. The room was simple. We got what we paid for. It was reasonable priced. The view of the ocean was awesome. Each meal was gone cooked to order. All in all if you want a simple basic inexpensive place to stay then you found it.

Good backpacker hotel”
A bit noise from playing children, animals, motorboats etc. and walls, floors and roofs are made of bamboo and not soundtight, not remotly. Good staf and the son of the owner who was in charge during our stay, is VERY good.

Don't bother”
The cottages are very far out of town and the walk back in the pitch darkness did not feel safe for two females alone. We had a strange encounter with a threatening drunk man. This obviously isn't the fault of the establishment but the location is poor. We were upgraded to a full cottage rather than the backpacker room we booked, which was great, but the managers were not in and we had no running water for our whole stay. It is very cheap and good for the price but that doesn't make it the most convenient place to stay.

Nice cottages but no beach”
Cottages are not the closest to all the restaurans compared to the others. The beachfront cottage is nice (dont expect a normal bathroom, no flush toilet). we expected a beach in front of the cottages, but its only rocks. For the beach you have to walk 10-15 min.

Very Very Basic”
Although we thought we could stay here, we didn't even manage to stay one night as upon check in day we ended up staying at the sheridan for an arm and a leg on top of what we paid here fas we stupidly pre paid. What I can say is that on inspection of our room is that they are so basic that they're not even sealed, one could see daylight through every surface floor to wall to ceiling. The "ensuite" was a bucket and a tap and although we were prepared to not have electricity 24/7 as we had our own solar power fans, this is just not accommodation that you would wish on your worst enemy, and most of the huts in Sabang are like this if not worse. Sorry Sunbird but your description and pics need to be a bit more "real" this is a backpackers shack and nothing more... it wouldn't take much to be the best huts in town! The staff were really friendly but also looked a bit sad as i think they've seen many Agoda bookers do the same U turn as we did on visualising the place. Stay at the daluyon if you can afford it, amazing food and accomm there and it's right on the beach, as Sunbird is to right of pier as you arrive by Port and it's a view of the ocean but with no beach....

Very basic but sizeable accommodation with views”
The accommodation is cheap so you need to expect it to be basic and because of its location, it feels a bit more at one with nature (we had a cockroach in the room one night! But wake to birds etc). It's a little walk to sabang port which is dark at night so have a torch or phone with you. Our first night was noisy with dogs and cats - ear plugs recommended if this would cause a problem. Overall I would say cheap and cheerful, our cottage was higher up so nice views if sat outside
