"We booked two rooms at Akasaka Excel Hotel for five nights. Rooms were clean with complete amenities. Small rooms that we had a hard time packing and unpacking because of the limited space for our luggages. The rooms airconditioning were not cool. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable with an outstanding shower and good supply of shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap. Beds were comfortable but pillows were bit small making us hard to sleep at night.Akasaka-Mitsuke Station was just across the hotel which was very helpful especially for tourists because it has four or five subway lines ( an easy access point to get across most of Tokyo), thats make it very easy to go anywhere. Also, opposite the hotel is a night market street that you can enjoy good food and drink like ramen, yakitori, wine and beer etc. There are also souvenir shops. Close to the hotel are Starbucks, Tully's Coffee, 7-11 convenient store, Godiva, Mc Donalds and Bic Camera, a huge nine floor discount store for easy shopping, like camera, electronics items, toys, luggages, cosmetics, clothes, souvenir items and a lot more. Akasaka Excel Hotel is listed in the airport limousine route which make it easy to travel from airport to hotel and hotel to airport for just 3,100 yen per person per way."

"We were a traveling couple who stayed 5 nights in Tokyo on a sightseeing vacation. The Centurion Grand Akasaka was the ideal hotel for us. It was very clean, the staff were all very friendly and the rooms had some nifty amenities. The hotel is ideally located about a 2 minute walk to the Akasaka subway station where you are pretty much on a main line to get anywhere you need to go to see Tokyo. The surrounding area also has a lot of nice restaurant choices, a kareoke bar, and all kinds of cool shops. The room itself (the queen bed room) was fairly small and a little cramped with baggage, but for Tokyo, I suppose this size of room comes with the territory. The larger bed was a good decision for us. It was very comfortable. The hotel restaurant offers yogurt, granola, soup and some baked treats as their breakfast. Everything you need to head out on your Tokyo adventure - but don't expect the egg and bacon western style you might be accustomed to. This again comes with the territory. Overall, for the price this was a very good place to rest our weary heads after long days of sightseeing and we were very satisfied with our stay."

"The ANA Intercontinental is really a tale of two stories. The Pros. The location is unbeatable within 10 min walk to 4 subway stations with access to many different lines to get around the city. It is conveniently located to bustling restaurant / nightlife hubs of Roppongi and Akasaka. Also it is connected to a commercial complex called Ark Hills which has about 10-15 restaurant options. The food we experienced was limited to the breakfast buffet and a Japanese breakfast but we thought both were high quality. The facilities are great, including a nice gym which is also well appointed, a few shops within the hotel (eg pastry shop and a cigar store), and a nice bar on the top floor. Lastly, the price was fantastic for the Christmas period. Frankly it was the best 4.5 Star hotel we could find for the price. The cons boil down to 2 things: the room quality (presumably only non-club floors?) is really not great; more similar to a 3.5 Star. Also front desk staff was slow."

"I stayed at the akasaka yoko hotel for 7 nights. I must say that the location is excellent as you are 2OO meters from the akasaka station on the chuyda line. 3 stops away from Shibuya or if you like to walk about 30 minutes. The hotel is not actually in Roppongi as it is stated but akasaka. It takes you 15 minutes walk to get at the roppongi hills. The neighbourhood of the hotel is full of bars and restaurants and you have tons of convenience stores open 24 hours a day. The room was confortable, but a bit small (11 M2). I had free internet connection in my room. You have some washing washing machines and dryers to do your laundry on the 2nd floor. The room was cleaned everyday and the staff at the reception is really friendly and speak decent english. I highly recomend this hotel and if you can afford it you can take a bigger room. You have different rates for different size of rooms. I will definitely stay there again."

"We chose Mystays Akasaka primarily for its value and location. We got a great price for our stay and relatively high quality room. The bathroom was well equipped, and the room while small, was cosy and had all modern furnishings. The queen size bed was a little uncomfortable typical hard mattress on a western bed, and hard as nails memory foam pillows. To be honest for the price we were quite happy with the room otherwise. The 7-11 downstairs is awesomely convenient and Akasaka subway Station is a 5 minute walk away, with Tameike-Sanno about 12 minute walk away, well positioned to get to most places in Tokyo. "

"Got a really great room on the 32nd floor with a fantastic view of Shibuya and Shinjuku. What I really loved was the location - its really close to the Tokyo Metro Akasaka Mitsuke station and gets you connected with multiple JR and Metro lines. Good selection of restaurants and a nice garden. The Main tower has been around since the mid 1960s and though it has been clearly updated, you can still get an old school feel to it. Asides from being close to the tube and train, its close to restaurants and 24 hour convenience stores aplenty in the Akasaka area. If you wish, take a walk down Aoyama dori and you'll soon hit Roppongi and Omote Sando. Brilliant. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. The bathroom was super clean as you'd expect of a Japanese hotel and everything worked. I enjoyed my stay. "

"Great hotel! I have used hotels and business hotels in various places in Tokyo for several years, but it is the best hotel with good staff response! After making a reservation, I had a question that I wanted to ask, and I exchanged messages several times, but since then I did a very pleasant response. We arrived earlier than check-in, but had you leave baggage immediately. The first floor is the front. The building was clean and the bathroom on the ground floor, sofa or table in the lobby, shelf of amenities, shelf of the brochure, elevator had a very clean and clean feeling. The room I stayed was very clean. Of course the bed make-up and amenities were complete, and even Panasonic's Steam Nano Care was provided. Hair iron and wrap dryer were also given in the bathroom. It is service more than price. The hotel has free Wi-Fi. There was an air purifier, a pot and a nice mirror with a light for makeup. There was no hotel which only this was fulfilling! It is service and hospitality more than price. A few minutes walk from Tokyo Metro Akasaka Station. If you walk a little, you can go to Akasaka Biz Tower. TBS is also right there. It takes about 12 minutes on foot to Akasakamitsuke Station, about 5 minutes to Akasaka Tameike Tower, and about 15 minutes to Tameike Sanno Station. There are roads that are slightly sloped, but walking is not a pain. Eating and drinking is easy as there are FamilyMart, McDonald's, Matsuya, Maruetsu Petit, TULLYS and Doutor Coffee near the hotel. If you come to Tokyo again, I will definitely stay at this hotel. Thank you for the great service."

More about Akasaka

Roppongi and Akasaka are neighboring districts that have traditionally catered to young Western tourists and business travelers, respectively. It’s only recently that locals have started to take notice and spend time here.

Akasaka / Roppongi is connected to Tokyo’s metro network via Roppongi Station. A few comfortable hotels in Akasaka / Roppongi are within walking distance of the metro station for ultimate convenience getting around the city. The station sits on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Toei Oedo lines.

Roppongi is the leading nightlife district in Tokyo, and it’s especially good at attracting international travelers and young Japanese. The entire district recently got a boost from the opening of the Roppongi Hills complex, capped by the 54-story Mori Tower. Midtown Complex is a similar commercial project that opened recently. There was a time when Roppongi mainly catered to travelers, but it attracts as many locals these days with its increasingly up-market shops and restaurants.

While Akasaka has its own limited night scene, this district is better known for its selection of name-brand hotels. Most of the visitors based here are business travelers, as hotels in Akasaka are equipped with full business and conference facilities. While most of the shopping options are next-door in Roppongi, this district does host Akasaka Sacus, a high-end complex with restaurants and hundreds of boutiques.
