"Coto Eco lodge is about a 10 minute drive outside of the town. It is clean and well looked after. The owner Mr. Minh is deeply accomodating and his staff are also wonderful. We came to the island in the of season which meant we had streches of openy sandy beaches with nearly no one else to be seen. There are at least 3 larges beaches spread out across the island which are easily reached by a motorbike which we rented from the Eco Lodge. In true island style you can casually ride around the island, leaving it where you choose, stop in for a drink at any number of small cafes and enjoy the beauty of a very special place. "I think the staff had tried their best - given limited grasp of english so my issue isn't so much with them but more of the room condition. I've taken some photos - the furniture looked dusty, there was no bottled water given to guests , the water was leaking in the toilet and the noise from dripping water kept us from sleeping. The bedsheets and towels had stains on them...... a mosquito bite us viciously on the first night. Renovation was on going - and so the road was work in project and so was the hotel. The people were nice however , I'm sure the staff did their best. But my feedback on dirty bedsheets were ignored, to get around we rented a buggy and drove it around the island ourselves. Make a few wrong turns but no issue lol - we had GPS :) "
