December is a frantically busy for all hotels offering festive party opportunities. This year, other diners were catered for much better than previously - well done on listening to my previous feedback. A dip in the lovely warm pool was very welcome after a busy day loading, driving, unoading anf setting up for a textile event on the Saturday. The chocolate sphere dessert was sinfully scrumptious.

As evidenced by being a repeat visitor they are obviously doing something right. The general setting and rooms are of a high standard and staff is always keen to help. Coupled with the excellent leisure complex indoor pool sauna and gym the positives are all there. On the downside is the non-existant mobile coverage (but if you want escape it all that's a plus). For business travel the WiFi coverage leaves a little to be desired - insofar as being available only in common areas with virtually no coverage in room.

We were looking for a place to stay close to Birmingham airport for a family with children. We booked through Agoda because the other booking sites (including Ramada's own Web site) did not have the same family offer, and we got a luxurious double room with a foldable bed (pulls out below the double bed) for a good price because children under 15 stay for free. Excellent location in the centre of Solihull, a couple of minutes walking from the bus stop with frequent bus connections to the centre of Birmingham and to the airport (the receptionists that registered us did not know there was a bus line to the airport, X12).

Starting from the reception the staff at the hotel were charming and nice. The location was ideal for us as we were visiting our daughter at the university of Warwick and had my own vehicle.The only minus I could mention was the dinner as the soup we had was a potatoe puree and was not well presented either. The breakfast was great but lacked choice after having the same thing during the five days we were there.There were three members on the staff two at the reception one at the restaurant during breakfast time who were exceptional but all in all the staff were well trained and very helpful. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends in Hong Kong and Sri Lanka if they ever visit the midlands in the UK.

Although I would not rate the hotel as 4-star that is not to say that it is not a good hotel. It is a very good hotel. To bring it up to 4-star in my opinion it would need a renovation. Obviously I did not see every room, but my room (303) was large and clean. However the fixtures and fittings were not modern. And that is true to say about the public areas in the hotel. The quality of the breakfast was also NOT 4-star. It was large but not quality. Also I came down for a 7am breakfast and the lights were off and there was no staff around. Within 5 minutes staff did turn up. However for a 4-star hotel I would have expected everything set up and ready to serve before 7am and not just after. The car park has markings for about 15 cars but realistically I don't think you could get 10 on there without blocking other cars. The location could not be better. Just at the end of the high street. And the complimentary bottled water was a very nice touch. The bottom line; would I stay there again and recommend it to others. Absolutely!

Arrived to find that our Agoda booking had not gone through to the hotel, which was not unusual apparently. However, the staff took my printed email and found us a room with no fuss. As promised, there was wifi and freeview tv, but also my favourite - gallons of hot water and a very deep bath - bliss. For our taste, the beds were too soft, but the linen was snuggly and clean. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful (as we were going to Warwick Castle a good start was necessary). All in all a pleasant stay

Too pricey for what you get. The room I was in was small, and it was only cleaned once over the four nights. I know someone had been in there a second time because the room amenities were restocked but the beds and floors had not been cleaned two days in a row. There is not much to say about the continental breakfast, other than there's not much there. It's probably not even worth a mention in the listing as a room feature honestly. The two times I ate in the restaurant for lunch, the first time a waitress told me off for sitting where I wanted to, even though that's what I was told to do, and she attempted to put me in this back corner where it was dark and facing a wall. I chose to sit outside. The second time I ate there, I never received my water after 2 requests, and chose to leave as soon as I received my bill. I can't fault the hotel for the stunning and isolated location though. The views of the countryside there and on your way to the venue is true England. You don't get much reception, but the wifi works brilliantly from the rooms. It's perfect for locals looking for a place away from home. For international visitors, you're 20 minutes from Solihull, perhaps 10 minutes from Knowle, but there's not much there, therefore hire a car to get around if you're planning stay for more than 1-2 nights.

The bedroom (42) was so dark staff must not be able to see how dirty the room was. The main bedroom had 1 x downlighter for a large 3mx3m room, so I needed a tourch to see the cob webs hanging from the ceiling. The carpet had not been hoovered before my arrival, with bits of toilet roll on the floor and other debris. The lack of sockets in the room meant that I had to charge my phone / alarm clock on the other side of the room. The throw on the bottom of the bed had not been cleaned for a long time! There were several white stains / marks on it!!!! The toilet looked like it had faecal starins in the pan, I think this is just damage and staining, as it didn't clear after 4 days of flushing, but made me feel uneasy. A tile was cracked and loose in the bathroom floor and was harbouring dirt and the chain for the plug was rusty. The curatins at night did little to block out the light from the spotlights lighting the front of the building. The sheets were clean, thank goodness.
