In my opinion, Chester has over inflated prices when it comes to hotels, so this hotel was a pleasant surprise. We wanted somewhere handy for the shops and the location was perfect. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and the bed was comfy enough, the only negative was that the bathroom was on the small side. Breakfast was fantastic, you can also order a full English, poached eggs etc as well as helping yourself to fruit, cheeses and cold meats, pastries, yoghurts ...the list goes on. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit Chester.

Great location in Chester”
Please read small print about parking as there may not be room for you - parking in Chester is very tricky. Only told in the morning we could have had a voucher for the multi storey to reduce cost if used when you parked. Pleasant, friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable but we could every step from up above. Read small print about breakfast - not included in price although when we upgraded to eat, we were given a voucher for a free drink which we accepted and had in the pleasant bar. Well cooked breakfast although for the price we were surprised at the budget sliced toast. Great location near the river and plenty of places to eat and drink.

Fabulous Hotel”
Staff were very friendly, especially Jo who worked the night shift and Chris on reception who I believe had only worked there 3 days, he was very helpful gave us a map of Chester and recommended best Restaurants to visit, very welcoming and excellent customer service. The location was really good everything within walking distance, the room and the kingsize bed was very comfortable, breakfast was amazing with excellent choice definitely book there again, thank you.

Lovely hotel but the staff absolutely make the difference, will definitely stay there again if in Chester, the only problem we found was the shower, but the rooms are to be refurbished soon so they will hopefully sort that situation out, thoroughly enjoyed the stay

Family room with breakfast”
Lovely night away at the townhouse. Hotel not disabled friendly but the staff where fantastic even changed our room to a lower floor to make it easier to get there so there was less stairs. Reception lady very welcoming and Really helpful Even looked after my sons wheelchair instead of taking to room. Secret garden really pretty with garden burners and blankets for visitors and breakfast was fantastic....only problem we had was room above very noisey creaking floor boards kept me awake from 4.00am. Room clean and tid and the beds were so comfy . Would certainly stay again 😊

Amazing *”
2 moms, 2 kids & Grandma.... We were greeted with the most warm of welcomes at the Town house hotel . Upon arrival we were told that we has been given a slight upgrade 😉..... Well, they only upgraded to the Roman Vault room ... Wow!!! Truly spectacular and had never been treated so lovely in all our lives. Breakfast was in abundence and beautifully presented. Just can't rate the kind way we were looked after enough. Very respectful of my mothers mobility limitations which meant such a lot. Jo and Peter and your fabulous team, we can't wait to visit you again. Our visit was made truly fabulous. Xx

Excellent staff, great breakfast, bar, garden and restaurant areas nicely decorated with a great atmosphere. I was in room 10 right at the top of the hotel up flights of steap stairs. Room was clean and spacious but decoration was tired. Bathroom was a major let down as it was tiny and fixtures were loose and shower temperament. I will stay again but not in room 10.

All in all this is a nice hotel. Great value and location and well kept. Unfortunately we were there during a hot summer and the windows as many hotels are now obliged to do could not be opened sufficiently to make the room nothing less than an oven all night. I don't expect a/c but at the very least a fan to extract air. Not even in the bathroom! Beware summer stays that will only get worse with global warming. Add to that a difficult or costly parking situation and a labyrinthine route to our room and we did not have a fortunate experience despite what is obviously a nice place.

Had a lovely stay, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, the hotel was beautifully decorated and immaculate also in a great location for the shops. Bars and restaurants, would definitely recommend it and will return.

Guy on Reception was very helpful and friendly. We managed to get a parking space in the small hotel car park and could have stayed until 3pm on the day of checkout if we needed to.

Great location near good eateries. Good sized room. Lovely staff. Super comfortable bed, in executive room. v Good value for money. ( Usual plastic junk as toiletries! Please note , hoteliers, it's no longer cool to supply little plastic consumables, which will be thrown away after visitor has half -used them! This is a gorgeous building and will go very upmarket soon, I believe. Shower ensuite, very small; and corners of its floor not super clean , but important bits like basin & toilets, clean. Room 16 was very quiet for good night's sleep. Will definitely return.

Staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Really welcoming and friendly! The room was clean and warm. The bathroom was a nice size and very light. Ideal location, close to the town centre and to the river. An overall relaxing, enjoyable stay. I would definitely stay here again!

Pros -great central location -lovely friendly staff -good breakfast (buffet & cooked) -nice communal areas (bar, reception, restaurant, garden) Cons -putting a family with 2 young kids in an attic room, 6 flights of stairs up- not cool! -room was like a furnace making it difficult to sleep. Really needs air conditioning/better ventilation, being in the attic -tiny window provided zero ventilation (or view!) -mould in shower cubicle -2 of 5 spotlights not working -tatty furniture -gouges in walls, peeling paint -insufficient storage- 1 small wardrobe with 5 hangers, for a family of 4. No drawers or shelves despite the room being a good size, only 2 bedside cabinets. Had to keep clothes in cases -nowhere to put toiletries (1 narrow shelf) -sheets too small for mattresses -not enough plug points, USB charger points temperamental -one kids bed smelled of stale vomit. Staff did quickly remove bedding, leaving the mattress. Fold out bed provided. Waived parking charges.

Very disappointed with our room”
Booked this hotel in September for December for 2 adults and 1 child. On arrival told they had only booke a double room. The girl at reception said “ oh your lucky we have a family room left in the annex” not really sure we were that lucky, we had to go across a yard to the annex in the snow to find a room with 3 of the smallest beds I’ve ever seen. Not even single size!!!!! Looked like they were set out for 3 elves. Worst nights sleep we’ve ever had. Very disappointed, so no would not recommend, sorry.

Small and quiet hotel within equal distance of river and shopping centre. Very nice breakfast and the staff were attentive, pleasant and efficient. Room was comfortable with TV, kettle and comfortable bed. Would definitely return.
