The hotel is in a lovely old building in the centre of Bristol. Great location for the docks, shopping and theatres. Very spacious room ( we were upgraded) when I peeped into the normal rooms. Will definitely recommend it.

We had problems with parking and payment and no spa facilities as avertised.”

I booked this hotel as it was central in Bristol and had spa facilities which we wanted so we booked. Got there to find that the spa is shut down. Also had problems as I booked though Agoda and they kept disputing if I had prepaid for the room which I had. Quite disappointing really

The hotel was very well located, with standard service. I felt disappointed that they do not offer free WiFi in the room and only in shared areas such as the lounge. I have stayed in many hotels, but this is the first hotel where you needed to pay extra to have a WiFi connection in your room. When I arrived to the hotel, there were 10-15 people queueing by the reception as their computer was down. I also didn’t expect the check in time to be so late - 4pm in this particular Marriott hotel, and apparently 3pm in other Marriott hotels. Not quite sure why this hotel had later time.

The spa is closed on a Sunday”

I booked a room with 2 kings size beds as my family was joining me and my sister. When we checked in the receptionist told us the room did not exist and they had tried to tell Booking.com and Agoda of this but they’d not done anything. This is something I would expect the Marriott chain to resolve. We had to make do with a room with 2 double beds but decided to treat our family members with a Sunday spa day. Upon visiting on Saturday morning we were shocked to be told it did not open on Sunday. The lift had a sign stating breakfast would be busy on Sunday morning due to numbers of bookings and asked guests to be mindful of this. Guess what! That’s really not my problem get more staff to manage the situation if you can’t cope with a full hotel. It’s dark brown gloomy and has a steakhouse, no veggie sausages at breakfast..... back to the Raddison for me which is modern, has friendly staff and delights it’s customers

The Marriott is an old Hotel. Room on the M floor was ok quite a large room bed was comfortable.”

I have traveled with my Brother and son. I have requested a room with connecting doors. The lady on the from desk told me that the cheep rooms didn’t have this possibly I felt quit embarrassed. Breakfast was ok lots of bacon eggs etc Few pastries . The fruit was virtually tinny bit of tinned canned fruit. I have asked the staff for some fresh fruit and I got a banana/ apple/ it was very kind of the breakfast staff to provide it.

Must point out is that the agoda advert says that deluxe rooms have shower AND bath when actually it should say OR. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was for the bath - got a room without one. Helpful staff found us another room but the description on Agoda is misleading. The hotel is in an excellent location and a beautiful building. The rooms are modern and nicely furnished/decorated. Sadly the little touches which would make this a good stay were missing. The mini bar was empty, the light in the bathroom was only to the left of the mirror making it difficult to shave the right hand side of one’s face, and eating in the bar the staff forgot to give us knives and forks (how you are supposed to eat salad without a fork or spread butter without a knife I am not sure). The breakfast however was very good, and so were the cocktails the night before. Summary: a nice hotel let down by lack of attention to detail and could be better value -cheeky to make you pay for car park for example

Kept awake all night by a constant flushing toilet! I could not get it to stop! Room filthy around and under the beds was dust, old coffee cups and general rubbish! Staff did not care!

Easy to get to”

Stopped off in Bristol and did some shopping, this was easy to get to and the staff were excellent serving food/drinks late at night when we arrived.

Can't knock this Hotel”

Excellent, however was peeved about the unexpected parking charges. The breakfast was very good and varied, the room was huge and the facilities consistent with their star rating. I did not notice the lovely swimming pool in the basement until we were leaving, well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean. It is a little aged but that adds to the charm. The only gripe I have is the parking charge for hotel guests which is uncommon in my experience.

Good quality room only issue window permanently closed and air conditioning. The hotel is in a very good position being at the heart of Bristol itself and provides easy walking to a range of Bristol’s attractions. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Not enough staff for restaurant whist busy, layout in communal areas bad, people sat up against the back of the sofa's and above you, and all sofa's facing each other no privacy what so ever, especially in the bar area. The room we had as a double was small and not up to a 4* standard especially the bath room. once again the layout in the room was poor and not welcoming, However to leave on a high the food in the restaurant was v good.
