Good hotel”

Nearly but not quite. ”

First things first. The staff were great and really hard working. The breakfast was chaotic, but we were informed that the chef hadn’t turned up- so considering that, they did well. The hotel is nice, but not worth the top price paid. Everything is not quite there. Little things like no teabags in the room. Lights in bathroom not working. No shower gel, just body lotion. The leisure facilities are much smaller than they look online. The pool is v small, and the sauna and steam room was two in, two out at a time. The pool was really cold too. We ended up lasting about 15 minutes before getting out to get warm. The decor is a little tired in places and the rooms are not sound proof at all - we could hear every word of the conversation next door. Once again, the staff are great, and I couldn’t fault them though and overall a nice stay.

Excepcional”

Everything was great except that I was the only one in our group that did not have a bath tub in my room. We all booked at the same time and paid the same price. I spoke with the reception and they said that I should have requested for it even though the pictures shows that the room that I have booked has an en-suite with a bath tub.

Fantastic hotel and staff - but room was a bit small”

As above re modernised facilities, food and staff. However, even on a July weekend, £150/night for a 'cosy double room' was expensive for a room which was almost too small for a couple.

A hotel with unique charm”

We stayed in Hillthwaite Hotel for just one night but wished we had stayed longer. The hotel exudes a certain countryside charm and service from staff was excellent. The room which we stayed was beautiful. Only downside is that you may need to go up stairs as there are no lifts. Breakfast was excellent with great food and wonderful service from the staff. Location wise it is perfect to get around to most places at Lake District. We definitely recommend this hotel and will come back if we have a chance.

Beautiful view”

Lovely hotel with great view over the lake. Rooms were nicely decorated. Beds very comfortable. Bathroom very clean and looked fairly new. All the staff very friendly and helpful . Would go back.
