Location is great”

Located perfectly for the NEC Halls but very pricey car parking on the day - cheaper if you book in advance. £10 for 15 mins - 3 hours to pay at the gate, so don't try to just drop off cases! The man on reception had great difficulty booking us in as the computer system was so slow but then he was not very speedy! Check out also took a while due to the system starting up very slowly. It's a huge, busy hotel and we seemed to be as far away from the lift as humanly possible, lugging all our things along corridors. We later discovered a closer lift along a corridor the other way but could not see it on arrival in reception. The room was clean and roomy and the bed comfortable. The shower was rather weak but acceptable.

Return visit”

We have stayed here many times before and are always happy to return. This time, my wife and her friend were seeing Michael Buble at Resorts World Arena, and I was playing Chauffeur! Location, staff and facilities were, as always, perfect. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Breakfast is efficient and yet in a relaxing room - never crowded or frenetic. Happy to keep coming back :-)

Inconsistent ”

We stay every year and our experience is different every year dependant on who we book with. This year had been the first year with our child. The staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms are a little outdated that's the downside about this hotel. Also asked housekeeping to clean our room when we checked in as still dirty in some areas of the room. Hygiene is even more important now. See you next year!

The moment we arrived, we felt that every single member of staff was very hospitable - I read mixed reviews of this hotel prior to our stay, so I was a bit apprehensive - but my Wife and I are confused where these bad reviews come from! Special thanks needs to go to Denise, at the breakfast restaurant - she was so helpful and nice, she kept our baby entertained and happy!

Perfect also for holidays”

i thought this was a lovely hotel which i got for an excellent price. i especially loved the large pool but the bar area was also very nice. what i didnt't like too much was that it was a bit too far away from the city centre. to go to the nearest rail station you can either walk there (10 to 15 minutes) or you book a free hotel shuttle bus. from the rail station to the city centre it takes another 15 minutes or so - depending whether you get on a speedy pendolino or a rahter slow local train. though the hotel caters mostly to business people and those who go to an event at the nec / lg arena, it can be also interesting for holidaymakers as room prices go deeply downhill when there's nothing on at the convention centre.

Great location for trade show ”

Great location for trade shows at NEC as literally next door. Room spotless , staff all welcoming and helpful. Ate in one night food very nice. Only thing bar a bit expensive but typical of these type of hotels.

Good hotel, distant from the centre.”

It is nice hotel for sure. Went there for the conference. But this area is very far from centre area, close to the airport. Good room, good breakfast.

Very poor reception staff”

Staff on reception was extremely rude and patronising, I wanted to pay my parking the next day and not on check in so she said well good look in the cue tomorrow and smirked then walked off. I called her back and asked which way is my room and she said it’s on your Kay,,,lol shame as it’s a lovely hotel

Disappointing”

I had a deluxe twin room to share with a friend and it didn't look like a 4 stars hotel's room. No complimentary bottles of water, no slippers or bathrobes and not even toiletries for each guest. The bath looked really old and stained, really difficult to regulate water temperature. It would need a refurbishment. Not what you would expect in a 4 stars hotel. Definitely not going back there another time, as it's not good value for money. You can find cheaper and better modern 3 stars hotel with breakfast included. The indoor swimming pool looked lovely but there was a waiting list to use it, so I gave up.

Great hotel but food and drink is way over priced ”

Had a good time but £11 for a fish finger butty or £5.15 for a beer is a joke. The room was great apart from the TV picture was bad like an old TV. The hdmi and scart sockets dont work either also £29 for 3 days of wifi not gonna happen ever

Traffex 2015”

It was a last minute booking so had no choice , had to take what was available. Enjoyed the stay except considered it very expensive for the type of twin bed rooms we had. Very small single beds (on wheels) , furniture & fittings very dated, & hall & room had a stale smell. The Safe refused to work, no water or refrigerator in the rooms. At best a 3 star. Rooms were spotless . Breakfast excellent but long queues for breakfast & hot food. Reception staff & conseigue staff were excellent .

Happy Stay”

All in all a great stay and highly recommended. The driver of the shuttle bus to & from the hotel could do with a smile every now and again, but he has a certain character. Overall great front of house staff, very attentive and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Take a bow Hilton Metropole.

The Hilton Experience”

From the time we phoned to the hotel on arrival at Birmingham International Rail Station, requesting their courtesy car, to the time we left the following day we could have not asked for a better trip. The car arrived promptly, the driver was friendly,courteous and helpful. Check in was a breeze and we were made to feel valued as a guest as the hotel facilities were explained to us. The evening buffet was delicious and the staff serving again made you feel welcome. The maitre'd was so professional. The location was just right to walk to the LG Arena where we saw Andrea Bocelli. The bed were comfortable, the room spotless and the breakfast was excellent. This was despite the hotel being nearly full which says so much about the organisation and the staff. Just first class.

Convenient for conference facilities”

Stayed at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham for a conference. +ves Convenient for conference centre and rail station. Quiet, clean room. Good bed and blackout curtains ensuring good nights sleep. Good food in Restaurant if a little expensive. Good size pool to unwind in. -ve Have to pay a lot for WiFi in room. A bit short staffed especially check in. Bar expensive. Whilst location is great for conference centre you are away from the centre of Birmingham on what is effectively an oasis in a dessert.

A matter of convenience...”

The price of drinks is extortionate, £29 for a cheap bottle of wine and £9.00 a glass in the bar. There is no WiFi in rooms, only in lobby area. Considering this is a business hotel this is a minus point unless you are willing to pay. £14.00 per day. The location was great for the NEC and transport but too far away from anything else. Fine if your purpose is to attend a conference but wouldn't stay there if I was on a leisure holiday. The quality of the food for conference guests was very poor.

The Hotel is perfect if attending the NEC Venue”

The only issue/concern for longer stays would be the prices of the food/drinks in the bar area which I found to be more than I would expect to pay at some of the hotels, theaters in London. One other guest made a comment that the money he was charged for his Jack Daniels with Coke would have bought a bottle at a supermarket.

brilliant staff very friendly and helpfull even sorted out my missing suitcase at the airport for me could not have asked for more. also driver of the shuttle bus was very friendly considering it was 5.00 in the morning. would recommend anyone to stay there.

Good location, efficient staff, nice rooms”

only stayed two nights - hotel is really big and very busy however the staff were friendly & helpful and the rooms good but if you are looking for something cosy or intimate then this isn't the hotel for you. did like the fact that there was a proper costa coffee on site.

Great hotel with friendly staff”

Met up with my sister who lives in London as this is half way between both our homes. Had a lovely relaxing time and made full use of the spa and the executive lounge. Staff were friendly and accommodating and we would definitely stay here again
