Excellent everything!”

Both Bonnie and Ian (guesthouse owners/couple) greeted me promptly at my indicated arrival time, and even assisted me in bringing my heavy luggage up the stairs to my room. They were extremely friendly, and offered suggestions on how I should plan my time (seeing it was my first time visiting the Lake District)! The guesthouse is just a 5 mins walk from Windermere Rail Station/Bus Interchange, so extremely convenient for any first-time travelers taking a train down from London Euston or any other national railway stations. My room looked EXACTLY the same as depicted in the photos - extremely neat and clean! The heaters were also working well :) Each guest is given ~4 options for the next morning's breakfast, and I would say the breakfast exceeded my expectations - very sumptuous English Breakfast, with a spread of fruits, yoghurt, cereal, bread, juices, and coffee/tea to go with. Amazing stay, and I would definitely recommend this guesthouse to all others! :)

Lovely Guest House”

Beautiful property right in the centre of town, close to all of the restaurants and pubs. Only 5-10 minute walk from the station. Double room was lovely. Spacious and clean and included free breakky. I choice of 5 options that you pre-order the previous day. Nice friendly hosts

The Lodge is located at 10 minutes walk from Windmere Station. Lovely accommodation, friendly staffs and great breakfast options. Minor problem is that there is no elevator, elders and guests with large suitcases are friendly advised. Overall, I've enjoyed my stay really much.

Fantastic stay”

Our room was very spacious (bow window included), delightfully furnished with attention to detail, and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked on the spot. The owners were as kind and as helpful as they come. We are hoping to go back again soon. Could not recommend more.

The hotel in located a few minutes walk to restaurants, breakfast was lovely. Room was very clean and modern, beds were comfortable, it was my sister's 16th birthday and the hotel even got my sister a birthday card, sweet touch, would definitely stay again x

Welcoming ”

Excellent location, breakfast hot and good choice, host was very friendly and it was nice that we could get into our room before 4 o’clock, like some places we have stayed, staff friendly and helpful overall a very enjoyable stay, only fault we had was having to submit our breakfast order the night before, sometimes we don’t have a cooked breakfast we just have cereal or something light. We do understand the reason behind it and this would not put us off staying there again.

Right in the center of Windermere and just take less than 10 mins to walk from the train station. Breakfast is very nice & delicious

Good location and Spacious comfortable rooms”

The property is not located on the main street but it's within steps to a supermarket and quite a number of restaurants around. Room is spacious and comfortable and I especially like the common room on the ground floor.

Excepcional”

I was travelling from Manchester north to the Lake District with no specific place to stay other than likely in Keswick. When I discovered the road was shut down due to the flooding I decided at the last minute to stay in Windermere. Discovering Holly Lodge on an app, I booked a wonderful clean room close to town with a car park. It also provided breakfast which was scrumptious. The proprietor was helpful and friendly and the B&B is located right around the corner from a market and a wine shop and tons of restaurants. All of this for a price that was more than reasonable. I'd happily stay here again.

not so good experience”

the staff had not tell us the breakast time and check out time,when we returned to hotel after dinner，we cannot contact the staff to get hair dryer and all the information.The charge for luggage storage is too expensive,￡2 per no.

Cozy boutique lodge”

Other than the mixed up of room bookings for our group and we have to end up sharing one of the bigger room, the overall stay was great. The location is great - just next to the main street. Very clean and nicely decorated rooms with comfortable bed. Diane allowed us to check in early which was great!

cosy home away from home ”

My stay was very pleasant, Dianne is a good host and impressed us with her beautiful home and breakfast. We showed up with one extra person than the room was meant for but Dianne was accommodating and let us have the room anyway as long as we didn't mind sharing. We had to top up for one extra breakfast but the charge was reasonable. The location was about 10min walk from the train station and it was pretty easy to get there. It's convenient to walk to the shops and restaurants too. Perhaps my only feedback I have is that the large bedroom (we were in room 7) had a tad insufficient heating in winter.

A cosy place to stay”

We stayed 2 nights and my family is very satisfied with our stay though there is some inconvenience with the water tap. There are 2 taps: hot and cold and we are could only get the warm water by mixing them in the cup to wash our face. Other than this, we have no complain

Hotel just like home”

Lovely converted old house makes a hotel just like home. Just be ready for the taxis to regard it as too close to be worth their while leaving ou to find it one. And 'Holly' does a great job, largely on her own. No big staff means no big support... be ready to improvise for yourself.

Wedding anniversary weekend”

It was are first time away from the children and are 7th wedding anniversary,so I decided to treat the wife to a surprise weekend away. We stayed in room 5' it was truly amazing and my wife sed the boy did well so full marks to me. Think this room made are weekend, thank you so much to Diane and all the staff for a great weekend away. I'm going to book same time next year

A bit over priced”

Overall it is quite a nice stay except for the late check in time (check in at 4pm and we can find no one there when we arrive around 2pm. Where can we put our luggage then? We can't take it to the cruise. Too inconvenient.) Also, when my friend accidentally walked in their kitchen, the stuff is mysteriously unfriendly.) As for the breakfast, since it is awarded best breakfast i think (can't really remember), we are quite excited to try it. Foods are moderate. Not all the things are homemade (e.g. The pastries are from supermarket). And they changed the english muffin into toasts without asking us. I'm not saying that there is much difference between miffin and toast, but I think you at least should tell us in advance. It's a kind of respect. Additionally, luggage storage is 2 pound each which I think is quite unreasonable since we need to check out before 10am! That is to say, we stay there for less than 24 hours and it charges 95 pounds!

Acceptable”

No heater whole day & night, small room & small toilet (i booked for double deluxe through Agoda but ended up at attic room because they have no record). The toilet ventilation fan is loud when switched on.

Wonderful service”

We enjoyed our stay at Holly Lodge. The service was great, and the breakfast was outstanding!

Walkable distance from Windermere Station. Location is good. Clean and nice room. Big Breakfast every morning with various choices. I would like to stay again next time.
