A little disappointed ”

We stayed in room 3 ,It was clean but a little tired looking quite a noisy bed even when turning over ,the toilet refused to flush and the soap dispenser in the shower was none functional ,these are minor things yes but it all adds up to an average nights stay ,if you’re desperate and have a limited budget it’s perfect

Fantastic stay ”

We had a one night stay in room 3 and was brilliant. Hosts were fabulous and didn’t stop working to please all the guests. We had evening meal in the pub which was great and value for money. The lovely garden was delightful to sit in at night and our room was compact but just what we needed. Little details ie a full size hair dryer and big towels were lovely added bonuses. We parked at the train station which was a 2 minute walk away for £5 for 24hrs , bargain! Would highly recommend.

Lake District stopover”

You couldn’t ask for a more friendly welcome and a gorgeous, fresh room We ate in last night and enjoyed a freshly cooked dinner with loads of choices of drink. The location is ideal in the heart of the town We would be back in a heartbeat and would definitely book here again

Don’t usually leave reviews but this place is amazing, along with the hard working, courteous staff. Rooms are decorated beautifully. We had the spacious family room and also a double room. Both with huge bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious. This place made our stay perfect! Thank you :)

Superb Hotel”

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights in August. We couldn't fault it. The hotel was clean & tidy, the staff were very pleasant, food was great and it was located close to the town. What more could you want? We would definitely stay again and would recommend it to everyone. Obviously it's not the Ritz but you certainly get value for money

Amazing value for money and lovely rooms. Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was also lovely, as well as the pub itself. Perfect location for lake Windermere with lots of places to explore

Good location, plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff at Elleray particularly Caz & Tom were fabulous and welcoming. Excellent food including Gluten-Free options that accommodated my wife's needs. As a family we noticed that Caz was very pleasant and approachable. An asset to Elleray

The Elleray ”

Lovely hotel in a fantastic part of the lake district,room was light,airy and very clean.staff all very friendly polite and helpful.food was fantastic we had the steak pie for evening meal what can i say apart from just managed to finish it,pie was made fresh in a dish separate from the veg and chip's lovely fresh chunks of steak would recommend to anyone and the full english breakfast the next morning was lovely as well all hot and tasty,we both agreed would definitely go back at some point and couldn't thank everyone enough for a lovely experience thank you.

Comfortable and convenient”

Friendly check-in, comfortable room and convenient location - we wondered if being above a pub would be noisy, but in fact our room was very quiet.

NOT so Good”

The location is very good but the customer service is not very obvious where to go for help - the breakfast was very and the people running it were excellent - the bedroom was big and clean - carpet was outdated. Pub closed most of the time we were there - not very helpful. The beds were very uncomfortable - need a serious look at providing different types of beds. Otherwise a nice place place to stay and centrally located for the town centre.

The perfect stay for Us”

We visited Windermere from Bedfordshire for a much needed 5 day break having worked all the way through the pandemic. This hotel is very easy to get too and the 250 mile drive was pleasantly smooth for a Monday morning. One thing I didn't check before travelling was parking, this hotel has no parking so we went and parked at the train just a 2 minute walk away (£5.40 for 24hours, not bad). for the rest of the week we realised the street parking was free between 6pm and 9am, with 1 hour parking and no return between 9am and 6pm. We arrived at 3pm on the Monday and were greeted by the lovely Caz/Kaz, who checked us in and showed us too our room. Our room was spotless and spacious, overlooking the main road, it was a warm day and a fan had already been added and switched on making the room nice and cool. Once we had sorted ourselves out we went downstairs into the bar for a drink and some food, the food was superb, I had the homemade pie and chips and it was a good sized portion, They serve a range of drinks but I settled on Maltsmiths IPA which is a great pint, Tom served us and was very pleasant throughout our stay. They also have a nice beer garden out the back. Breakfast was absolutely brilliant every morning, I had a Full Cumbrian Breakfast each morning and everything was always hot and presented well, being just the right portion again, I like the way you pre-order breakfast the night before on a small form meaning its easier for the team to prepare it in the morning, we had our food within 10minutes of coming down every day, superb organisation! We were free to come and go as we pleased and spent everyday out exploring different parts of the Lake District, and we returned each day to fresh towels and the order form. We spent the last few hours of our last evening in the downstairs Bar, and got into a good conversation with Tom and Kaz about there time there and future plans, I genuinely think they are going to have a successful future he

No complaints at all, room was cosy, shower was good, location is a great base for exploring the lakes, The lady who greeted my wife and I on arrival was lovely, and she went the extra mile to accommodate a early morning breakfast for me as I was on a walking challenge That weekend and needed to be away early,
