Booked premier double room but given a classic double”

During check in, they gave me a classic double room and claimed that the room was premier double. As each room has a particular room name and such was printed on the key pad, I pointed out the name appeared in the key pad of the room was a classic double according to the hotel web site. I also said this was not the room I saw on the web site and would like to exchange the room but they said the hotel was fully booked. I search in the internet there were 3 vacant rooms and pointed out to them. They finally give me the premier double room called ‘windereme’.

Perfect English hotel in British Disneyland”

Rainy days and bad weather. Still hotel was OK. Dining a bit on the expensive side but breakfast very good and nice. I paid 138 GBP/night but could have stayed at 100. Umbrellas available. On the bad side: The whole windermere place is something ike an amusement park. I realize that this is the case for most people in Europe if they want to go places - there is not much room left and if there is, they make some sort of arrangements that should spice up your vacation. At high cost. I was going there for nature and the W Wordsworth saying: The lovliest place on earth man has seen. This is not the case. It is crowded with much too many cars and busy traffic. Arranged tours and walks in places where I believe you are not allowed to fins your own ways. Constrained. The lake is OK, but surprisingly smal. The Wray castle is not medieval but built in 1900s and so on. I do not really understand how people can spend a vacation there, 1-2 days is enough. No - leave Lake district and go north. I suggest some Scottish Isles (i.e. Isle of Skye) for more contemplative vacation.

Unexpectadly the food was of a very high quality, along with the condiments and extras including the coffee in the room, NOT your normal powdered sachets!! The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfasts were cooked to order, Over all FOOD, service and staff friendliness A BIG PLUS. The room was clean, comfortable, shower and bathroom a bit cramped, BUT BIG negative for the bed, there was no headboard and a big gap between the end of the bed and wall!! Apart from that would willingly return. Well done to the owners for their standards and "hands on" running the place.!
