Nine Hours Otemachi - Imperial Palace
Akihabara,Akihabara - View on map
"Very clean throughout, good facilities, helpful staff, and a comfortable night's sleep. A nice quiet capsule hotel with very roomy and comfortable capsules. Loved the design - it's exactly what I think of when I think of Tokyo or Akihabara - it looks like something out of 2001: Space Odyssey! It's a little strange that you have to 'check out' every day, but you can still leave all your things in the locker so it's fine - as long as you're aware of the need to be out of the hotel in the daytime (as written in the description). Only tiny downside is that the lockers are too small for a large suitcase so you have to leave it downstairs by reception, but it's always staffed so it's perfectly safe."

Capsule Hotel Anshin Oyado Tokyo Akihabara

"If you want to stay in the middle of Akihabara but want to try something different, this is one place worth giving a try. Since I was only staying 1 night in Akihabara before going to Sapporo, I decided to look for a capsule hotel as the price of normal hotels were quite expensive. I also wanted to stay in Akihabara because I need to price hunt for some stuff. I was not expecting much from this place as I already know what it is like to stay in a capsule hotel. When I stayed there, I loved it. Pro's: - friendly and English-speaking staff - very organized, with lots of signage and instructional manuals - super clean shared toilets and nice smelling too! Plus, they are surprisingly spacious - free drinks! - food vendo, specially if coming in late and no time to look for restaurants outside. It is located in the "free area" where you can eat your own food and watch tv with other guests. There is also massage chair. - larger than usual capsules with pillow options Cons: - could be noisy"

Nine Hours Woman Kanda

"The location is great!! Near JR Station Kanda and can be reached within walk distance. For all of you who are intending to roam around Akihabara, I think 9Hours Kanda is the best choice. I spent 9 nights there and whenever I went to Akihabara, I just walked from the hotel. You can find many restaurants nearby like Sukiya, Matsuya, Soba Restaurants, Izakayas, even Starbucks. There are also 7-Eleven and Family Mart nearby. The capsule pod itself is spacious but you have to be quiet, and the only negative side of this hotel is the locker room. Since big luggage can't be put inside your locker, you have to go back and forth to the reception desk to get your luggage and since the space in the first floor isn't big enough, it's quite hard for you to pack up your stuff. "My stay in Akihabara hotel is perfectly nice. Although I and my friend could not communicate with the staffs well. They tried their efforts to talk to us so that we could get what they mean. In between my staying period, my friend accidentally lost her passport , we were so blank and did not know what to do. And luckily one of the staff can speak Chinese and I am able to communicate with her smoothly. The staffs gave a lot of support to us, such as giving a call to relevant Embassy and pointing the nearest police station to us. Even after the incident, they followed up with us. We are so grateful for their helpful actions. Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation to them for helping us in such an emergency situation."

"I had a fantastic experience at First Cabin Akihabara Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and knew English enough to communicate without misunderstands. I took advantage of the sauna at least once a day, it was delightful! I thought the space in my cabin was all I needed for a short stay, and found it very cozy. I fell asleep nearly as soon as I hit the bed every night. Some tips for hotel guests that I picked up. There's a cart in the back of the floor with extra blankets, pillows, etc.. If you think the bed is too stiff, you can grab an extra fluffy blanket, and put it on your bed to use as an extra mattress. Just go straight to it at check-in time, because the items are snagged pretty quickly. Also, while the tv only has a few channels (all in Japanese) there is a ticket machine on each floor next to the soda machines that for 1,000 Yen, will let you purchase Video on Demand (VOD) on your tv. There were many English Language/Hollywood movies to choose from. It's also only blocks from Akihabara Station, and the shopping district. Easy to get to. Also, Akihabara Station is close to many other stops (only 2 stops away from Tokyo Station!) including Ueno Station which is where most of the airport trains stop off. There was great wi-fi service on every floor, and a comfy lounge with tables, and charging outlets. It's not a place to go for food (there was a microwave food vending machine), but there are many noodle places on the block, and everything you could ask for in the neighborhood including a Denny's, McDonald's, and a Burger King around the corner, if you came all the way to Japan to eat American food. I highly recommend this hotel for the solo, or very small group traveler."
