Just the best getaway ever!!”
This was our 28th visit to this hotel - We visit 4 or 5 times per year for a break from daily stresses. We often book in for massages in the spa and use the facilities such as sauna , steam room and pool. So familiar with Carnoustie Golf hotel and for us it’s our number one choice . Getting booked up for the next one soon . Highly recommend this hotel and its excellent location which is around an hour and a half away from home.

Nice wee break”
My wife and I stayed a couple of nights in a an excellent double room overlooking the first tee and great view of the golf course. Nice size room with comfy bed and excellent shower. Really nice and attentive staff, good choice of food for breakfast and dinner and really good value when booked through Agoda. Would recommend and stay again.

Carnoustie spa and leisure hotel worth it!”
Lovely friendly staff, modern golf hotel, spa facilities lovely, Furniture /chairs in restaurant a bit grubby, could do with being binned . Friendly waiting staff, with a good sense of humour, great fun. Breakfast offers a good choice, we had full Scottish which was delicious. Would recommend definitely.

Excellent”
A bit short staffed on arrival at reception but otherwise staff were very attentive and sympathetic to current restrictions. Room was lovely but the view was absolutely perfect. If you like golf then this is one of the best views in the world. Food was delicious and perfectly presented. We will return but only on the condition you give us the same room or same view with a bath. Keep up the good work and please let the staff know they are doing a great job under very difficult circumstances

Try getting a tee time”
Just because you are staying there doesn't mean you will get a round in even though it says on website. My husband asked at starters box was told only members can play at weekends was told to ask at pro shop got a curt no tee times even called club and was told no. So he went for a walk and was reading info outside 1 of the starters boxes and a starter came out and asked if he could help and he said,well I wanted a round but been told 3 times that I can't play the starter said well I can sort you out so after all that he got to play a bit more communication is needed came close to spoiling weekend.

4 star? The elevator perhaps!”
Positives - Reception staff were friendly (without being over enthusiastic) - Room was clean as was bathroom - We enjoyed a pleasant lunch in the bar/restaurant on the Saturday with nice views over the course and friendly, engaging service by the waiting staff - Breakfast toast, tea and juice was all fine - Nice modern elevator - Ice machine was appreciated - Ample parking Negatives - Our bedroom door was double locked by Housekeeping so would not open with the key. A trip back to Reception and back to the room and the door was opened with the master key by the Receptionist. - One clear pain of glass in the room, the other filthy and could hardly see through it - Despite booking through Opodo and specifying our need for twin beds, followed by my e mail direct to the hotel the week prior to confirm, on arrival, the room was set up with a double bed. Yet another trip to Reception for housekeeping to change this to a twin set up and a half hour wait or so in Reception - Dining area chairs mostly all threadbare at the arms with padding protruding - no real feel of 4 star accommodation - I was extremely disappointed in the Sunday cooked breakfast, it was obviously not freshly cooked, old fried egg, crusty dry haggis I think it was and bacon clearly been served out of a bain Marie which had been sitting for a good while as was discoloured, luke warm and overall, very unappetising. I didn't eat it all obviously and I advised the waiting staff who apologised with no further resolution offered. I further mentioned it to Reception that breakfast was disappointing who were sorry to hear of this, but no further resolution offered. The cooked breakfast should have been cooked freshly to order but it obviously all came from hot storage cupboards, very far from what one expects from a four star hotel. I complained in writing and received an apology, my feedback was passed on to the relevant department.

comfortable hotel, super-fast internet”
We obtained a special deal, which was well below the list price & was therefore good value for money. The Hotel is close to the sea & guests can walk on the links property and on the nearby MOD range. I found the internet connection fiddly to use, but it was super-fast for up-loads. The food was good, but we found it a little bland for our tastes (in common with other Scottish establishments.)

The hotel is big and therefore has no atmosphere. The room was comfy but the prices in the bar and for the meals was too high.

Cheated us on room because Agoda gave us a good deal”
Junior Suite Purchased, on voucher and plenanty of availability. Gave us a deluxe which was £40+ cheaper at the time of booking. Old fashioned cheapness from manager. Couldn’t complain at the time because was on a date and would have made me look like the ass. Bad form. Avoid like the plague.
