Mike and John reached out to us before we arrived and greeted us with a warm welcome when we arrived. We had their personal contact info and got many helpful tips from them about exploring the island. The place has everything we needed, from beach chair to beach towel to cooking utensils to list of island restaurants. We met lots of people and had nice conversations while cooking/eating in the kitchen/dining room/gorgeous backyard. This is a place where you feel at home when you are on vacation!.

Beautiful property with excellent hosts!”

John and Mike are excellent hosts. They greeted us like friends and treated us like family. They gave us an excellent intro to Vieques and places to visit. Their recommendations were spot-on. My friends roomed as a couple in a larger bedroom overlooking the zen garden, while I roomed by myself in a room with a queen bed overlooking the pool garden. My room was the perfect size for a single person and it included cable tv, clothes rack, mini-fridge and a small safe. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but very well appointed with hairdryer, toiletries and good lighting. The shower was a bit tight, but I appreciate having my own bathroom in a small property rather than sharing a bathroom. I loved doing my morning yoga by the zen garden, and spending the afternoon in the pool. The property is walking distance from the ferry terminal and the main square in Isabel II. There are some good eateries around the area as well.
There was nothing I didn't like from Casa de Amistad. When traveling to Vieques, one should know that getting groceries and supplies in the island is not easy as the cargo ferry is not always working. It is helpful to bring all your basic supplies and snacks with you and to maintain a clear mind and healthy attitude. Since there is no hospital in the island, emergencies could be tragic, so best to stay safe. I suggest renting a vehicle weeks in advance, especially if visiting during a holiday weekend, and be ready to get on "island time" since many places do not maintain regular business hours. As of July 2021, many places are closed on Sundays, so it's the perfect day to go to the beach or relax by the pool.

John and Mike are the perfect hosts. They thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. You have a question? They have the answer. They are so fun and kind. The place is colorful, cheerful with great decor. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great. (Very important, lol.) There was a common kitchen to cook in if you so desired and the fridge was full of cheese and wine people were sharing. The place is walking distance to everything in Isabella. Nos encanto' el lugar!

What a nice place amazing. Upon checking in John sat us down and walked us through everything on the island. He gave us useful phone numbers, in and out of the island. The place is super clean, very close to the ferry terminal and restaurants. John and Mike are great. The rooms and restrooms are very clean. This is an incredible place to stay in Vieques.

Mike and John were so welcoming and gracious upon arrival. They really made us feel like old friends. Meanwhile, the property was absolutely gorgeous and had a positive, community-like vibe. From the spacious courtyard to the recently renovated kitchen to the bright, gorgeous rooms, Casa de Amistad was perfect. I look forward to returning ASAP!

From the street, the location looked questionable as a first time arriver, but it was paradise!”

Attention to so many details making it comfy, cozy and welcoming AND the many spots to sit and have a peaceful moment to yourself or conversation with others. For example, when I woke early, I could sit on the porch with comfy seating and lighting to work on my computer without disturbing my husband. Also, the offering of same-day laundry service was fabulous!
