Perfect place in Paoay!”
Went on a road trip with 2 girls friends, and initially we wanted to spend our first night in Ilocos in Laoag. However, we didn't find anything interesting (we wanted quaint, cozy and definitely not a convention-center sort of place). I'm glad we didn't limit ourselves to Laoag because Casa Dona Emilia met all our requirements! There's free parking in front, it's right next to a 7-11 and it's right across the Paoay church. Staff were very friendly. In fact, the driver that we hired for the sand dunes was the brother of one of the kitchen staff, and we had a great time! There isn't much night life or activity in Paoay itself, but we were actually looking for that kind of peace and quiet. At night, we stuffed ourselves silly with empanadas and other street food at the street behind the church and took in the wonderful views of the church in the night time. It's also very pretty at night and well-illuminated. I would recommend Casa Dona Emilia B&B for a quaint, boutique-hotel type of experience in a lovely quiet town!

Location good if you have your own transport, 5 min. walk to Paoay Church and few steps to a 7/11. The room was big and w/ a comfortable bed, aircon, TV, Ref, water heater all in good working condition. Room, bathroom, pool, dinning area very clean. Wifi available at the dinning area. Filipino breakfast tasty and good coffee. We have dinner there, menu limited but great home cook local dish. Owner and staff were the best.

Simple but nice enough for the price you pay”
We booked this hotel as it was recommended by a friend living in Paoay literally meters away from this property. We were not disappointed after-all as we knew this is a low budget accommodation. It has all the amenities you need for a short stay, free wife, included breakfast and a nice pool. But points to mention here, the pool was with green water, it seems it is in disuse for a long time now, and the breakfast was extremely poor, though still, you can get some toasts with jam and honey. Scramble egg was fine, but the ham was sweet, not to my taste at all. Room was spacious and beds simple but comfortable. The only issue i would point here (which is not even the fault of the hotel) are the rooster crowing. From around 4.00am it did not stop meaning I could not sleep at all even with earplugs. But this will happen anywhere in the city you will be as it's really a village and people have their own gardens and animals. Location cannot be beaten, right in the central square, 1 min away from Paoay Church.

Pleasant, simple and relaxing”
This is a very pleasant, simple hotel. Right next to the Paoay Cathedral, which is the main attraction of the place. From here, the other attraction, of the place like sand dunes, the beaches, and the Marcos hedonistic and excessive curiosities like the Mausoleom, the Malacanang of the North in Lake Paoay are within easy reach. Tour facilities like buses, taxis, vans are scarce though. One will have to look and arrange for this on the spot, and hopefully they're available like it was for us during our stay. The airport and bus station in Laoag is quite a ways but not that far. Given the nice roads and light traffic in the area, it's a breeze to take a flight or a bus to the next destination

Pleasant place to stay in Paoay”
Located just behind the beautiful Paoay church; across the municipal hall. Simple place yet complete basic amenities; everything worked fine like the aircon, tv, heater, etc. Staffs were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again next time =)

Great location, accommodating and nice staff, good facilities (especially the garden) but can be improved”
They were nice enough to help me and accommodate my request to be fetched from Plaza del Norte, the reception of the wedding which is 9.8km away from the guesthouse, and to take me to Farinas Laoag terminal which is really far. They understood my situation because my trip was at 11pm and it would be troublesome to be getting a jeep ride to Laoag, more so with my things. I really like the room but the shower can be improved. It's so old looking and because the shower head is small, there's not much water coming out from it. They might wanna change it to a bigger one.

Our stay was very pleasant. We liked the design of the hotel as it is quaint and gives us a homey feeling. The basic amenities are available ie comfy bed, hot/cold shower, aircon, tv, there's even a ref in the room. The hotel is also very organized as they already assign room numbers to specific tables for serving breakfast. Breakfast was quite good (we were given choices) with generous portions. We'll be back!

Love the location, very near the Paoay Church and restaurants. Right next to a 7/11 which is very helpful for backpackers like me. Very charming design actually. Some parts of the hotel makes it looks like as if youre in a small town in Europe somewhere. Bed was hard. No hot shower in my room and faucet was not working. The pool was a charming touch though. Breakfast was okay. Staff are friendly.

We stayed only for a night. The place is very near the Paoay Church, about 5mins walk. Really good restaurants are also near and there’s a 7-11 beside it too. The stay was comfortable and the place was clean. Bfast served was good.

Could be better”
We stayed for overnight. We had the family room. 1double bed and 2 single beds and had to get additional bed as we are 5adults and 1baby. Beds and pillows are so comfy but so disappointed to get a 3inches thick matress smaller than the size of a single for our "extra bed" and paid 700pesos for it! I was thinking of a folding bed not just a matress !!! But the hotel is quite, aircon was working, hot shower and breakfast were included. Its located very close to Paoay Church... ❤

Can't get much closer to the church here”
Only 1 block from the old church is this wonderful house turned into a small hotel. The history in the place would be interesting to know in detail. The hotel is an old Spanish style home with a pool in the middle. The tile work is wonderful. The room was ok, with a working western CR, an OK shower, and just an OK bed. Breakfast at the hotel was decent.

The staff were warm and accommodating. They just need to improve the quality of their airconditioning as it is leaking and the quality of their beds. Overall, if you are looking to experience the paoay town, it is recommendable.
