Super warm welcome and perfect location !”

Casa Luis is a beautiful house who’s owners are absolutely adorable! We only spent one night there in between Sao Tomé and Principe but we had a lovely time. We were very warmly welcomed and our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning facing the view was a very good time as well. Also, the location close to the airport is super convenient. Definitely recommend it!

We arrived at Casa Luis after a 6 days bad experience in a different location in Sao Tome. For this reason I’m advising you to always check other people’s reviews 😉. Casa Luis is very welcoming. Both mr Luis and his wife Catarina made our stay comfortable and pleasant. The location is in a very quiet and clean neighbourhood. They have a massive garden with a good size swimming pool. In fact, is almost a botanical garden, with lots of equatorial trees and herbs.
The road to the location, from the main road is very bad, but this has nothing to do with the place itself, it’s more a local administration issue

Great people to meet and I enjoyed the company immensely.”

I am most impressed! Luis family are the most friendly and generous. They put in a nicer room after meeting me and they really make you feel like coming home. They make great food as they treat their guests like family. The house features a pool and is a quiet neighborhood very close to the airport and about 3 kilometers from the center.
AC sometimes goes out but that is frequent in Sao Tome and no fault of theirs. It only goes out for an hour as I remembered not hours.

Great midrange stay close to the airport and town”

Casa Luis is a relatively new hotel, only open for 2. years . Luis and his wife Catarina work really hard to ensure aa.a comfortable stay for their guests. Rooms are modern, spacious and sparkly clean. air conditioning, strong. shower - all are great. Also it’s very convenient to have a kitchen with all the appliances including huge fridge-freezer. Swimming pool is a great bonus too. Catarina’s nephew Luis was a godsend too. He speaks excellent English and helped us a lot . He was our guide and shared lots of information about the country.
I would strongly recommend to have. a car if you stay there. It’s 40 minutes walk to the center. But if you decide to walk, take a route along the sea. it’s a bit longer but much more pleasant

This is a great start to discover São Tomé, they make you feel welcome like if you were family”

The owners are amazing hosts. Facilities are in good condition with running air conditioner. It is worth paying for the transfer from the airport, as it is difficult to get to the property unless you know where it is.

Luis is a very friendly and helpful landlord. Catarina served a great breakfast, particularly her home made fruit juices were awesome. The rooms are basic but spacious, a/c worked well. My bathroom was not en suite but just next door and exclusively reserved for me. Luis just started to build new en suite bathrooms to improve comfort. The pool is certainly a big plus and made me choose this place. Great view to the sea and Ilha das Cabras. The area is quiet and you feel very safe, Casa Luis is conveniently located between airport and capital, however it's a bit too far for daily walks to the city centre.
For me, 10 Euros for the airport pick-up looked pretty expensive as it's only a 5 minute (2 km) ride and I was only by myself with a small bag. Apparently you pay for an entire car, the driver and the "guide", so the price becomes reasonable and okay for a couple with baggage.

The staff was extremely helpful and helped us to arrange a car, drove us to dinner and exchanged money for us. The pool was very refreshing

Perfect start on your STP trip!”

Catarina and Luis are a lovely couple. They do all they can do make you feel at home. Very quiet area about 45 min walk from the centre. There is a well equiped kitchen in the house for the guests to use. Good breakfast is included.
Don't count on taxis or public transports to get there. Let them pick u up at the airport on arrival (€10) if u don't have your own car.
