Lovely weekend, sadly the weather wasn’t brilliant, we used to pool and gym which where nice but abit like a leasure center than a spa, room was nice but would of liked a bath, location perfect for Kendal center but think it was slightly overpriced considering the quiality of the hotel and room

This is one of the best hotel we stayed in our UK 12 days 9 nights trip. The staff on duty on the counter I cannot remember her name was so kind to help me with 2 giant luggage, I actually asked for portal services since there is no trolley. I think the porter is not available or out of reach, this staff, about the age of 40-50's lady, very slim and nice lady, helped me as my husband was busy parking the car. I felt so thankful for this wonderful lady! The breakfast and the view in this hotel is spectacular. The breakfast is also the best we had in our UK tour!! The room is also spacious for a family of 3 pax. Love all the details of this hotel. Parking is free and easy to park. No hassle. We have very good impression and very happy memory in this hotel.

Very comfortable rooms, although there is no lift service so bigger bags need to be carried up staircases. The hotel restaurant has very good food for reasonable prices

Great Stay at the Lake District”
The hotel is set on the foot of a hillside on the Eastern side of Kendal. The hotel grounds are large and there is a lot of parking, though during my stay there were several functions taking place so the lot filled up during the afternoon. Overall our impression was that this was more of a group/business hotel rather than a tourist destination, but it suited our touristy purposes fine. Check-in was fast and efficient. The hotel is a bit of a sprawl and our room was on a second floor, requiring some hefting of suitacases up steps. To be fair, we had declined help with the luggage but had underestimated how far the room was. Hallways are a bit older and the hall near our room wasn't lit very well due to a burned-out bulb. Room was pleasant and had a smaller flat-screen TV and wireless Internet, though the latter was only available in our room if one sat near the door. The hotel restaurant was a nice surprise. After failing to find a place in Kendal that appealed to us we resigned ourselves to eating in the hotel restaurant, only to find that the food was excellent and it appears to be a local destination judging by how full it was both days when we were there. Kendal is a bit of a walk from the hotel and there didn't appear to be much to do in the town itself. As such I wouldn't stay at the Castle Green if I didn't have a car and was expecting to be spending time walking around. Overall was a good experience and a good 'base camp' for exploring the local area.
