Quite a nice place”
I arrived unexpectedly with a reservation several days in the future. They very kindly re-arranged the reservation for me without fuss or problem. The room was clean and well-appointed. The bathroom was all in order. The toilet had a small problem at one point and they promptly resolved it. I have stayed there many times, all with the same result. Cheap rooms in downtown Dumaguete! They are very strict about their No Smoking policy so make sure to smoke in their designated area (4th floor). Excellent service from their staff. They remain courteous and pleasant every time we pass by.

Don't let the pics fool you”
I rented the Deluxe Suite and it looks much better in the pictures than reality. It was a little dirty and flies were coming out of the sink drain whenever I ran the water. The mattress was very hard. The grout in the shower has mold growing on it. The staff was friendly and overall the property was tidy. The location is right in the city and also close to walk to the boardwalk area. The price is ok. It's not a bad place to stay if you just need a place in the city that's central.

Avoid it!! Better Options in Dumaguete for the price!”
I booked this place because I needed internet on Sunday morning and it was a brownout. Their generator worked as promised but the internet is always off and on, They also put out 2 bottles of water which I drank and it turns out they were not complimentary. Not marked and not part of a mini bar. Pretty greedy on the owners part and staff!!

Fire alarm at 12am smh!!!”
I will NEVER book this hotel again!!! Nasty mattress, Filthy sheets which I asked for a new set and was originally told no (seriously) I was forced to go to the front desk and ask for my money to be returned because I would not sleep on those filthy sheets. And the cherry on Sunday the fire alarm went off in the mid of the night. No one knew why or if we should exit our room. The staff could not figure out how to shut them off and keep them off. Supposedly someone was smoking in their room. I found that out because a rude employee came outside to question the guest that exited the build.

Better not to book for more than a day in this hotel since they wont clean your room until the 3rd day. Stayed for 5 nights. Their excuse was the DOT memo to minimize contact with the guest and the housekeeping staff. Oh common, you can always ask the guest to stay at the lobby while you are tidying up the room. Just an excuse perhaps. They must be short on housekeeping staff.

KARGANTE FRONT DESK..”
Front desk people are so arrogant. They seems like making a fool out of me. There's this one mestiza receptionist who's like MISS KNOW ALL but obviously 🤔🤔🤔! I was waiting from 3:45-8 am but still I was not being accommodated. That feeling KNOW IT ALL receptionist always insist that 2 pm rule! For Christ sake!! There are lots of big and nice hotels in Cebu that would accommodate you even 2 pm is there check- in time as long as there will be vacant rooms. To hell with Zen Room Check Inn Dumaguete FRON DESK ladies!!!

Great value for money”
We travelled for two weeks in the Philippine Visayas region and found this hotel to be the best value of all the hotels we stayed. It is a basic three star hotel in a very central location of Dumaguete,and within a short walk from the esplanade. The twin beds we had were very comfortable. The room was not too big,but clean and comfortable. Aircon was a little noisy in middle of the night.

An overall pleasant stay ”
I enjoyed mt overnight and will stay again, the internet connectivity was important to me and I had no problems, the guesthouse was conveniently situated down town with many restaurants in the area, it is also close to Dumaguete Boulevard which allowed for a pleasant evening stroll.

Value for your money”
It's located very near Silliman University. I had a conference to attend to in the University and it would take about 6-10 minutes to reach it from Check Inn. It is also very near McDonald's (24 hours), Dunkin Donuts, and Jollibee for those who feel the need to have them accessible plus several pharmacies. Staff has excellent service, rooms and bathrooms are very clean.
